  1. There is another really good thread on this topic. I have both antennas under my dashboard and they work fine. windshield behind the mirror is probably ok as long as they are not obstructed too much, I would avoid behind the front grill, you want them to have an open view of the sky, metal from the engine compartment would block signal. under the cowl is good if it is a plastic cowl, bit of a job running the wire but all in all a good location as long as there is no interference from windshield wipers. the wire going to these antennas is a mini coax, so you have to be c
  2. I have an Avic D3 with the bt200 bluetooth module. for me, the phonebook upload was located in the bluetooth connection menu, not in the phonebook, basicly I had to disconnect the pairing, then select "Pioneer BT200 unit", one of the options in the dropdown menu, was send address book. Another was to do it is to disconnect the bluetooth connection, then on the avic, there should be a address book option to transfer it. the reason for this, is that when you have bluetooth connected, you are using the "handsfree" profile, data transfer is not possible, so you have to disconnect and th

  5. jl audio made speakers that drop in, vr 570 cxi, I dont believe they are made anymore but if you search the net you can find them, I got mine for 150 bucks a pair. I had alpines, but they did not sound all that great. I ended up adding an amplifier as well as a subwoofer.

  9. the trick for me with my blackberry was that I had to disconnect the bluetooth first, then I went to my phonebook and initiated the transfer. bluetooth is actually several different profiles, the headset profile, data transfer, music streaming, etc. the headset profile used for answering calls cannot do data transfer.
  10. I would troublshoot the mic first, you can probably plug it into a mic jack on your pc and use the recorder utility to see if it pics up your voice. if you have a different phone, I would try another one and see if that as well. I guess I was lucky, I just went out to my truck at 2am, my intent was to just leave it until the morning, but my leatherman was in the console so I just connected everything and ran the mic wire, in less than 10 min. I was testing it. EDIT sorry, I misread your last comment, they can hear you but you cannot hear them. ok, sorry for the misunderstanding
  11. I thought I was the only person who noticed this. I have had the same thing, first with my terk xm to alpine adaptor, and now with the pioneer. I thought it was me.

  15. My antenna is under the dash, just above the radio, the xm navtraffic antenna is there as well. works good for me.
  16. I wish I had found this site a few months ago, I have been putting together my alpine ivaw205 and blackbird 2, it was a bit disappointing. So I am sending the alpine gps back and getting a tom tom portable for when I travel, and the D3 to be in my SUV permanently.
