  1. Mines done that too. Checked my disc and it was really really dirty. Perhaps yours is dirty or possibly a scratch?
  2. If you do, there should be talk about it in the harness adapter you purchased. Mine had a power wire that I had to hook up to the RMT wire (AUX) that turned on the amp for the antenna when the stereo was on.
  3. I know this guy personally... He lives in my area and I had my N2 upgraded to N3 via him. He's a knowledgeable guy and his service is remarkable.
  4. I have 50 v1.2 on disc. I originally posted the torrents and hosted them for some time. But once the 60 version came out, I stopped hosting and the torrent dried up... I have since deleted the ISO's from my PC. If there is a big need for them again, I can redo the ISO's and host them again if need be...
  5. You don't even need that! All you need is the RCA to headphone jack cable. Then plug it into the AV inputs on the hideaway. You don't need to connect the video... Then, as stated above, go into the setup screen (push the right jog dial in) and go to the right button. Select AV input to Video. Then change your source to AV in. You will have audio in at that time....
  6. They sell the mod on eBay. You sent your unit into the guy and he can replace the LED's for you... The eBay store is "Same Day Auto Audio Repair". Guy's name is Rich... He's the MAN!
  7. The software is loaded into the brain. So if you replaced an N1 brain with an N3, you'd have to run the N3 software...
  8. Wow, Rich moved his prices up... His repairs are getting more popular, though. His eBay store is Same Day Auto Audio Repair Services, a listing is up under auction number 180067791274
  9. Ya, probably put some stuff in there the system didn't like. I myself just put a bunch of video files on it ending with .avi and didn't have a problem.
  10. If the foil on the DVD is scratched, it's useless. If it's only the plastic portion of the DVD, you can use a Disc Doctor to remove the scratches. If it's beyond repair, use the torrents linked in this forum...
  11. The unit has two screens. The AV screen and the Navi screen. If you are routed to a destination, while playing a DVD, you can have a small box appear in the bottom right of the screen telling you how many miles until your next turn, and which direction the turn will be. As you approach the turn, the unit will flip from the AV screen to the Navi screen, and after you make the turn, will flip back to the AV screen automatically. The unit works this way regardless of which AV device you are using (Am/Fm, iPod, DVD, etc....) When you eject the Navi DVD, it will save your route onto its R
  12. And as for the iPod interface, it's going to suck very badly for you unless you get your N2's brain upgraded to an N3. This can be had for ~100 bucks on eBay.
  13. Perhaps... If I can get a standalone system for cheap I will...
  14. What are the full abbreviations for these models? That way I can find them on the net... Also, which is the newest and most update able? I'd like to have the newest version of maps running as possible...
  15. Yeah, it's located to the top right of the screen (on the sub-display). It senses the light outside and adjusts the brightness of the screen to suit. If it's daylight outside, hold your hand over the top right of the screen and watch the display dim because it thinks its darker outside!
  16. So I'm checking out this monitor and thought that it'd be neat to hook it up to my N3 for rear seat passengers. However, after further investigation (and after purchasing!!!), it requires a stand-alone navigation system and seems to be incompatible with the AVIC-N3 navigation system. I guess I will be using the dual zone features of the N3 to display the Navi on the rear-screen using only low-quality AV inputs =\ I got a good deal on it, though! And it's also nice to have a screen which has an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness of the screen like the AVIC-N3 does.
  17. It's a purple/white wire found on the radio harness....
  18. That's strange... Sounds like there's either a problem with your discs or there's a problem with the lens inside your deck. If you're using a downloaded copy of the N3 software, I've heard that there is a bad copy going around. I've been told that the way you can tell that it's the bad copy is when it begins to load, it says 1/1 instead of 1/2... If you've got original copies of the discs and they're not scratched, it must be your lens. Try using a lens cleaner. If that doesn't work, perhaps your lens is damaged and your unit may need to be sent in for repair.
  19. Ya, this happens when the unit is new or does not have 3D Hybrid enabled yet. Drive your vehicle around some more and once it learns your car it will begin to display your vehicle dynamics again!
  20. Does it even attempt to read the new N3 software when you load it? What exactly does the unit display when you insert the discs?
  21. Are you sure the navigation discs aren't badly scratched? If you aren't using the N3 software, trying loading that onto the unit and see if it functions properly from there...
  22. Go to the connections screen and see if the voltage is changing for illumination when you turn on and off your headlights. If it is not, check your wiring. If it is, hold down the WIDE button to go to the screen display settings and check there... If none of those settings fix ya up, try a reset...
  23. Any competent electronics technician can fix that connector. You see how it's just a block of plastic with the metal pins making a 90 degree turn down into the board? You'll need to take the unit apart, and get the board onto a bench and resolder that connector back onto the board. That's if the connector is still usable and still has all of the pins in tact. They can be bent to some degree... Don't use too much heat or you'll lift the foil runs on the board! If you can't do it yourself, it'd be something someone would grab on eBay if they could fix it themselves, since it's a pretty sim
