  1. my apologies if this has already been asked, but I've got a z150bh and wanted to know if this update will work with this unit?
  2. @ felixgun -- yeah I've validated that the z150bh will def. fit in to my suburban. I just ordered a z150bh and it finally arrived yesterday via ups. i'm having it installed on Monday so looking forward to it. you should enjoy yours as well in your avalanche -
  3. Hello I own an avic z110 and I have used the Pioneer ND-BC4 camera .. the camera is awesome and has worked great for the time I've used it. you can probably still get this however this model has been discontinued. The ND BC6 camera is the replacement model
  4. Thank you so much for the reply. I also checked crutchfield.com and its saying any of the pioneer z units wont fit an 09 suburban .. I found that a bit hard to believe so i'll check w/ my local installer and see what they have to say ..
  5. does anyone know if a z110 all the way up through z150 (since they are all physically the same) will fit in a 2009 Chevy Suburban ? I own an avic z110 that is in a 2005 GMC Yukon XL and am in the process of trading it. didn't know if anyone out there has a z unit in an 09 suburban thanks so much
  6. thanks for the update on the splash screen i did notice that when setting a destination for a particular street, it shows all the cities of where that street is located. That is really cool also it appears the response time has improved after setting a destination. other than that, i have not seen any significant difference with the maps. i do get people telling me that i sound like i'm underwater when talking through the blue booth (i use an iPhone 5s) maybe on the z150, they'll finally resolve that .. when using my old HTC evo and evo 3d phones i had the same problem.. i hear the
  7. Updated my avic z110 (was a z130) to 2012 maps. update went very smooth. 1 question though. when you start the unit (after turning on your vehicle) is the pioneer splash still supposed to say 2009 ?? the last update i did to the unit (the z130 map update) it didnt change but i didnt think nothing of it. now that its up to date as a z140, the splash screen still says 2009. i have validated that the version platform ver is 4.0, app version is v4.0100 and version is 4.000 bluetooth firmware says v3.24 thanks
  8. Hey everyone its been a while since since i've posted here but wanted to reach out and say i'd e happy to pitch in as well for the updated software.
  9. I felt the same way when I got my z120 to replace my z1 . i didnt have the tools or patience for it either..Best Buy installed my new unit and did a fanastic job .. Cost was roughly $200 just for the nav. if you've got additional accessories, like xm/sirus tuner, and iPod, those are extra. But, sometimes they can bundle the whole install for 1 price if you get a tech that will work with ya. Good luck - enjoy the new unit
  10. By doing this, will this allow me to hear the audio from the overhead dvd player or do i need to put the dvd into the avic z110 unit and then the video will get displayed on both the pioneer and the overhead dvd player? would you happen to have a diagram of what you found or a web link to what you u were able to find?
  11. In doing a bit more research on this issue, there is an adapter that will allow this to work. its made by PAC - model # is GMRVD. However - the catch is that this will only work on 2007,2008,2009,1010 Tahoe's, Yukons, Escalades, etc. It won't work on older model trucks. Very disappointing. maybe they will come out with such an adapter.
  12. its been a few weeks since i've looked around here. Soo glad to know that there is a step by step process for updating the z110 unit. Its been on my 2 do list to purchase and upgrade but after reading this, i'm not forking out $200 if i don't have too .. glad to know that these steps work flawlessly to make your z110 a z120 ..
  13. Can you send me a direct web link as to where I can get such a device? I do have a PAC device for my steering wheel controls - is this what you are referring to?
  14. I've got a 2005 GMC Yukon XL that came with an overhead panasonic DVD player. I have a Z110 unit installed in the truck (bypassed) and all is working well, but unfortunately i'm not able to get any sound to my car speakers coming out of the overhead dvd player. The installer told me that there isn't a way for the overhead dvd player to work through the car sound system. There must be a way some how for this to work and wanted to reach out to all of you and see if any of you have encountered this or know of some way to get this work. Maybe there's an adapter that can be used? I do have 3
  15. I agree wtih Vblue42. You are getting not only a map upgrade but other enhancements as well vs purchasing a brand new unit for $1000+ bucks . Now - I could understand if Pioneer wanted consumers to purchase the new z120 model for the map upgrade - yes that would suck big time. But for upgrading the existing unit for $200 is not all that bad considering your getting map updates, and other enhancements to the unit to make it a z120. The same procedure was followed with the Z1, Z2 and Z3. Those updates were $200 at the time. I do understand your concern about people forking out $1000+ f
