  1. The pioneer firmware 1.03 had no affect on the Samsung S5 voice issue on AV4100NEX, didn't work before, doesn't work after Android Auto will connect and work, but you have no voice control. .
  2. I've also been back n forth with Pioneer tech, The issue is related only to S5 on Verizon, I was told they are now waiting on an answer from Google for the solution.
  3. I just cant accept that one of the most popular phones doesn't work - S5 For the microphone issue, Im thinking it could be a setting issue or default application issue, ive been trying everything. When I press the voice button on steering wheel while in Android Auto, the symbol comes up but its grayed out When I am in the phone options, the same phone button works fine I also see that its using "Car Mode" in conjunction with android auto automatically. With some many new features in this phone could there be a conflict? I read there is an issue with car mode and the new "in
  4. If the unit is new, you need to do the update: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVH-4000NEX?tab=firmware The AVH-4000NEX features Apple CarPlay (firmware update required). CarPlay is the smarter, safer and more fun way to use your iPhone® in the car. CarPlay gives iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music and access messages with just a word or a touch
  5. Crap, same here, no voice button. Here is a link to check for your phone..mine says not compatible: www.android.com/auto/check/
  6. Pioneer is about to release a firmware update to fix the issues with incompatible devices, at this time only the Nexus phones work 100% I was told any day for this.
  7. Bypass is on first post in this section: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38589-official-avic-nex-bypass-avic-units-only/ Harness may be the same, I don't think it changed, I would verify the wire locations when you get new one.
  8. Hi I believe you need an app installed so the radio can see the music files: Try "Pioneer Connect" in play store.
  9. Connected using a USB extension on USB2, I did have some trouble with my original usb to micro not working, I figured it out by noticing that the phone would charge but not recognize it was connected to usb device.. Change cable, restarted phone, and Auto popped up. One issue: I cant seem to get the voice button on top right corner to work?
  10. +1 On my AVIC8000NEX had the autodetecting GPS screen, happens mostly when vehicle is cold on first start, turn off then back on and its fine. "Positioning not possible due to the hardware Please contact your dealer or Pioneer service center." Spoke with someone at Pioneer, they have seen the issue, send in for repair.
  11. AndroidAuto is supposed to be released today by Google I heard by Pioneer directly. http://www.android.com/auto/
  12. I know it has a lot to do with the head unit in vehicle now, whether the phone is built in or not Does it say "REQ", or "REN" on radio what code? I have used Maestro in a Town & Country with 8000NEX and it retained the factory features Maestro has a great forum and questions are always answered by tech right away: http://www.12voltdata.com/forum/index.php

  14. Hello, The firmware is there for your 2014 WRX and for the NEX now, however since Pioneer does not display gauges your only benefit would be using the steering wheel module to get 2 functions per button. If you were using a Kenwood radio you would get the user selectable gauges
  15. Yes you can use any MHL adapter to HDMI cable..as long as it outputs video, In my case I have a S4 and I needed the newer MHL from Samsung As far as charging...Yes I needed to also connect a standard micro usb charger to side of new mhl to get it to work properly and charge...that is the only way to get it to work and charge since you are plugging the mhl into same port on phone.
  16. Yes, it is definitely phone specific, I had a nexus with different results on pioneer adapter..and couldn't get it to work with Samsung MHL or Pioneer MHL, there is an issue with screen output using hdmi on that phone. I have an S4 now which doesn't work with the pioneer mhl cable at all or charge I now have the proper MHL 2.0 cable from Samsung for the S4...and that works perfect. Depending on which phone you have will determine what cable.

  18. Check Rear Zone button for proper display, that's all it really could be.
  19. Fixed!...I received the new MHL from Samsung MHL 2.0 ET-H10FAUWEG Works perfect on new Samsung S4...same setup as S3 and Note I have full working display and full flawless control with App Mode Hope this helps someone else!
  20. If you wired a relay to trigger the amp turn on with remote lead & ignition, this would keep the same turn on delay as before and drop out immediately when key is turned off. Like this: 85 - ground 86 - Pioneer remote 30 - Amp turn on 87 - Ignition
  21. Your issue is the installer was supposed to pulse the drivers door pin on remote start shutdown to turn off the RAP (Retained Accessory Power) circuit. The same will happen if you sit in car with radio playing engine running, then just turn off key and not open the door..
  22. CD-IU50V & CD-IU51V are the same...except they made the wires inside a little larger for higher current devices like iPad is all. Not sure if the update has any affect
  23. I already have the Pioneer MHL adapter already wired in and working on Galaxy Nexus and Pandora works great, from what I can see this is the only way to use Pandora on android..unlike previous model that it worked wirelessly through Bluetooth Now...there is a setting when you pair your phone it asks you if you want to use it for App radio mode..and I have said "yes", so I am not sure if you say "NO" will it allow the use of Pandora the old way. It is 100% confirmed that I can not use this phone on this radio and get video output to work correctly with the genuine pioneer MHL ada
  24. I may be able to help with your issue.. This Z150 does not work like a Z140 giving you BT app control on an android. You must have the MHL adapter plugged into the bottom of your Android for it to work...that I know. However I am having an issue that the screen flashes when I am using all the right connectors..I have found out this is an issue with my type of phone The solution is to use a Samsung MHL adapter made for the phone. I have it ordered arriving soon.
