1.
man, didnt a red flag come up with the low price alone? you get no sympathy from me especially since your getting your money back. but yes, thank you for your experience, though you "should" have known better.
I disagree. It could have happened to anyone. Those slimeballs out there put up "fly by night" websites, and just try to lure us into giving them our money. I think it is great that he came back here and tried to warn everyone else. He didn't have to do that, and he didn't have to "risk" getting any crap from us about it either.
2. Oh Man, sorry that you had to be the one to find out, but thanks for coming back here and letting us all know. I too emailed Electronic Treasures and this was their immediate response: from: will lewis (admin@electronictreasures.com) Hi, Yes all of our products are brand new, unopened and we never sell any refurbished or returned items. I really can't tell you why we don't have a rating. If you have any other questions please let us know. Thank You. ------------------- And I think you're right. If it sounds too good to be true, then ......
3. Hello Wellknown-n-da-biz, I read your story and was angered at what happened to you, as I am a Ford Truck fan, and know how much you had invested, and what a top notch truck you had. I am about to factory order my first new vehicle ever, and it happens to be a fully loaded 2007 Ford F150 with all the options possible, and plan to spend over $40K, with over half of that as a down payment. And since I'm within a month of doing so, I too am very interested in how I protect my mid-life large investment. Do I consider Lo-Jack, advanced alarm systems, etc? I have no clue. And I intend to ins
4. Yes, I meant F150, not F250 as in previous poster.
5. Where might I find actual wiring diagrams for ford F150 to confirm VSS, ILL, etc? Thanks, JSB123

7. Their Web site says "Full Manufacturer's Warranty", and we all know that isn't true, but for that price, if the item is new, unopened, and not refurb, it might be worth it.
8. Ducati, Thanks for the reply. I feel better now about tinkering with a new Z1 when I get my hands on one. JSB
9. Ducatiboy, Just so I'm clear, to invest the $50, I would get this: 1. Ability to change the splash/boot up screen, and each time I wanted to change the bootup screen, I would need to take the HD out and change the file name of the bootup screen using a PC? 2. How many background files total can be stored to allow for changing at any time without the CD? 3. Relating to question 1 above, is it fairly safe to remove and re-install the Z1's hard drive multiple times for changing/adding bootup screen files and background files via a PC? Would you limit the number of time of re

Bad business

Thanks for the reply, DataAve. I agree that I will just go ahead and buy the standard stereo. And now with that Sirius Stilletto coming out soon, I don't think I will need a Sirius PNR2 anway.

That's good info about that retailer. Off Topic, but I have a question. Since you mention that you have installed all of this into an F-150, I plan to buy a new F-150 soon, and add on the AVIC-Z1. So I have a couple questions: How much did it cost for the professional install? And how much trouble did they go to for the mounting of the microphone and GPS antenna? Are they tucked away out of sight, or exposed? I am trying to determine if I should do the installation myself, (which like you, I'm electronics/installation knowledgable), or leave the hassle of it all to someone who knows
