1.
I installed the Z1 in my Audi w/ Bose. I bypassed the amplifier, since it's got all of the x-overs, etc. in it, but I used the stock mids in the front doors and the stockers in the rear. It works, and if you're using a decent amplifer, sounds decent, since the stock Bose speaks are 2-ohm. You'd be better served though, just upgrading it all. To answer your question, yes, it's doable, but difficult when utilizing the Bose amplifier.
I had mine installed in my RSX-S using the bose amps and speakers but in the end, ImolaVirus is right. You will never get g
  2.
i have read the wishlist thread for the z1 and after only owning one for 12hrs, i agree with most of you guys on the areas that need improvement. but i have to say being a former owner of: an alpine cva 1000 clarion vrx925vd pioneer n1 and most recently an eclipse avn5435, the z1 is as close to perfect as i can expect. it really is amazing.
I agree thats why I have one in each of my cars, :D .....Steve
  3. I have them in both of my Acuras. NSX and RSX-S. I had an Acura RL for a while and until the Z1 nothing could beat the built-in RL NAVI. I think a fair number of cars can do double din with the right dash adapter. You could go to your local car audio dealer and they will tell you if it will fit in the cars you are interested in....Good luck.....Steve
  4. I have two Z1s and I think we should call CS and bombard them with poor quality BT calls until they get the message.....Steve
  5.
So I already wrote an email to Pioneer lets see if it starts a fire under their asses. For Pasain NYC I live in the Staten Island/Brooklyn area! What is up with the AVOX Mobile Jukebox 120GB "Mobile Tivo" How does that work. Maybe I will get that next time as well. And there will be a next time. I just have to think of a better security system. Maybe tear gas, that is triggered when the device tampered. Anyone know of any two way alarm systems that will notify by cell phone or pager if someone enters the car? I other solution is to move. That seems the bes
  6. I am very sorry for your loss. I used to live in Flushing Queens and those Bstards used to break into my car at least once every couple of months to see what they could get. They once broke my rear window and stole my rear parcel shelf that had my ADS plate speakers on it. It sucks that you work hard for stuff and some folks just aint worth the air they breath. Good luck with your next system......Steve

    Z1 to D2
Any news steve on the BT unit?
Changed my mind and went with the Z1. So I do not have an answer......Steve
  8.
I have a post June unit, installed by the dealer. The funny thing is, once I got it, I had three days to research it before it was installed. I found out about the p-brake feature lock, and was worried about it. I figured that I would have to just open it up and check it out after the installation. Colour me suprised when I went back to the dealer, turned on the car, and saw the "parking brake lead" improperly connected message! I can do just about anything except watch DVDs while driving, just what I was used to with my Aviator. I guess the installer got tired o
  9. I find the HDD to be really valuable, but I am an old fart and don't want to fiddle with an ipod or mp3 player. I just burn all my disks to the HDD. The Gracenote DB recognizes most everything I put in there and finding what you want to hear is very easy. In addition, the Navigation is easier if you do much traveling since you do not have to swap DVDs depending on where you are going to. I live in Chicago so I am on the edge of each DVD. Once you figure out the voice commands it is a lot safer than looking at the screen. I also really like the lean look of the Z1. I understand those
  10. I just bought a second Z1 from Tweeter and it was made in April so they are still out there, so I will need another Ducatiboy special......Steve

    Z1 to D2
I was told today at the local sound advice that BlueTooth works with the D2... I am assuming this guy doesn't know what hes talking about as everything I have read has said Z1 ONLY.
I just had the D2 put in one of my cars and my dealer said he is getting me the Bluetooth unit for it. I also don't see how, based on my research but he said I would get it.......Steve
  12.
I just got my Z1 with Bluetooth. I have pared my phone with the Z1 and it works great, but what is the "work around" to being able to use the bluetooth while the car is in motion? Currently it only works when my ebrake is on. Please help :)
I think your in the wrong forum but yes Bluetooth works fully with the bypass
