OK to update to Pioneer 2.003 Firmware with hack installed?
CamelTowing replied to Morfious's topic in Hacks/Mods
Yes -
My XM reception is slightly better that my Sirius. Sirius seems to work better in less populated areas, XM works better in cities
-
Click on the "UPDATES" tab and there is one listed http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... VIC-Z110BT
-
Avic z110BT overheating I think.

So I see 2 vettes, a silverado, and a 350 in this thread. What brand harness are you guys all using? Factory bose systems? -
Not sure its worth the effort to have a switch, but it you want to do it, you don't need a relay. Just go to Radio Shack or something and buy a cheapo toggle switch and run the parking brake wire to it
-
My sirius does that like once a year or so. I pull out the P-bus cables and the power plug for a few seconds, plug them back in, and its good to go again

The bypass is different. Detailed instructions are stickied at the top of the page. You will need to buy the CDIU50V ipod cable...it does support video
-
1. You will need the CDIU50V to control an ipod from the screen. If your ipod really is ancient, it likely will not work with it, but you may as well install it now to save time/money on labor to install it later when you get a new one. You can still use your current ipod the way you are now...through the audio-in jack 2. Best to call and find out 3. It will handle your HD and non-HD radio. The interface isn't that great though. Not sure it is worth it unless you live in an area with lots of HD Radio stations 4. It will cost you $100+ for the tuner itself and it will become garbage
-
Do you know where the sirius tuner is installed? If you do, unplug the power and the P-bus cables at the tuner for a few seconds and then reconnect them. Had to do it myself once. If that doesn't work, try all the other stuff the previous poster listed

The AVIC-220U is a different model. Its an add-on navigation for people that bought screens without nav built-in. Don't think it'll work for the Z110
-
Thats what they told me about 6 months ago
-
Pioneer can't give away the upgrade because they don't get the maps for free. They buy them from TeleAtlas (TomTom.) If they have to pay for the maps, so do we, thats how it always has and always will be. The new GUI is just a bonus
-
It won't work. Buy a mic
-
The Z110 has been out for like a year, which means it was designed 12-18 months before that. Hard to expect it to work with something that was top secret until a few months ago and doesn't mount in a car easily or fit in a glove box. Hacks will come I am sure, but not until more people that give a crap can afford an ipad
-
Are you sure it is looking for POI in the correct state? It doesn't automatically switch to where you are located
-
No, its the same very good one that is found in all Pioneer radios
-
Hold down the HOME button for two seconds and the screen will go completely off
-
The bypass is different anyway so you're going to have a little work to do. And don't forget the mic for the VR and bluetooth
-
The GPS antenna is different. You can either run a whole new one or just swap the plastic connector on the end
-
Agree with above. Sounds like installer error
-
Yes you will. The manual for the 920/120 are linked on the forum from a few months ago and both feature the Pandorda capability

**intermittent ATT pops up/stays on**

Is it possible the cell mute wire could be loose back there? -
Its set by the satellites. Are you getting good GPS reception?
