Yesterday I redid some entries in my phone to list each contact separately, ie., johnny at work , johnny at home. I then did the phonebook transfer, and everything now works better. Till adds "general "to my listings, but at least I can now tell which number is which.

I think it takes awhile to update, if you are somewhat staionary, they seem to be there after awhile. But if you are traveling across the city, it doesn't seem to update as often.

If you have the ipod cable for the Avic, you just use the ipod interface. If you want to watch while the vehicle is moving, you need to have the bypass done.

Voice control of the ipod is pretty cool. I didn't have a D3, but I do enjoy a lot of the features of the f900bt.

I also like using it to parallel park, as well as backing into a space at a parking lot. It's easy to see the white lines without opening the door and looking down to see where you are!

reagrding dialing by name, what cell carrier are you on? Mine is Verizon with a K1m Krzr, and I can call by contact name, but the F series added "general" to several of my home and work numbers for contacts. So I have to say "Johnny general" to call Johnny. I also found if I said call "Johnny" instead of call "Johnny at work", it would sometimes give me a list of numbers for Johnny to pick from..

you can get full text, but it requires you to push buttons to tab between title/artist/genre/channel/composer and displays this only on one line. Each item scrolls. You can see this display from both the main Sirius screen below the logo, or the preset channel screen in the right upper corner. I'm not sure if it's an Avic problem, or a Sirius receiver problem. Due to the completion, and as a condition of the Sirius /XM merger, new radios will be out in a few months offering a la carte channel choices between both services.

I have this installed. I have an FJ Cruiser which has a very small rear window that is partially blocked by the spare tire. The backup camera gives me a wide field of view (130 degrees) when backing out of my garage. I can actually see the entire 3 car wide driveway as well as the ground directly behind my SUV. Objects in the camera are closer than they seem, but it is a great safety feature if anything ( kids, dogs, toys,etc.) are below or outside your normal rear view mirror field of vision. I bought mine off ebay, it's a ccd chip versus the common cmos chip and runs about $130.Mine is great in the dark. PM me if you want to get the seller's id. It does have a wide field of vision (130 degrees), so things seem farther away than they are. I looked at the pioneer, the main diffrence is the higher priced pioneer has some lines that show you where you will be parking. Boyo makes some decent cameras, but I really wanted the higher end chip. As others have said, as long as it has an rca jack, it will work with the avic. Regarding Sirius, you might check to see if the antenna connection is tight. Also, make sure your antenna is in a good location on a metal surface. I started with mine on the dash, but I got a lot of dropouts whenever I drove into a heavily wooded area. I had it moved to the roof, and now get no dropouts. The antenna needs a clear sight to the sky, metal roofs and even metal based window tint can degrade the signal.

I also have an fj cruiser and had the antenna in the same spot, along with a Sirius antenna on the dash 2 feet away from the gps antenna. I got the same amount of signal as you and gps worked fine, but I was having a lot (every 3-5 seconds) of Sirius dropouts whenever I went into a heavily wooded area. I had the installer move both antennas to the roof. The Sirius dropouts went away completely. The gps signal is a little better (went from 2-3 red satellites down to one red), and the signal bars went up a little to almost halfway. If you have the vss wire hooked up, you won't need to move

The 900 and 90 units have a gyroscope.

I had mine professionally installed, but it looks like a process anyone could do. You basically get a harness from crutchfield, metra, etc., then solder up your connections to the harnesses before you install it in the car. Run your gps antenna, remove your old radio, connect the harnesses together, hook up ancillary equipment (Satellite radio, HD radio, pod cable, rear camera), connect the fm and gps antenna, hook up speed wire and reverse wire (if needed). Although I had mine done at a stereo shop, I actually provided them with a lot of the install details and bypass wiring that I found

Hi Kim, I also use the 4GB Nano 3rd generation, and mine works well. The sound mutes when I receive a call. I do have a US spec unit that had the update directly from Pioneer. You might check your Pioneer Ipod adapter and make sure it is plugged in the correct way, others have hooked them up back wards and had some issues. I am impressed with the video playback quality.

The bluetooth is one of the last things to boot up, I use the blue bluetooth indicator light to let me know when things are almost finished booting up.

Just got back from my trip to Fort Worth from Houston. MSN worked when I left Houston, even picked up signals near Centerville, TX, got a routing update there due to traffic issues on I20 in Dallas. Worked OK when I was in Fort Worth, although bars were not present on the antenna symbol. Updates happened off and on, not sure how often MSN updates the info. No movietimes were displayed for any of the theaters listed. Gas prices were continuosly displayed. On the road back to Houston, lost signal and got no updates until I neared Conroe Texas. Screen kept showing Dallas traffic issues un

The maps are TeleAtlas maps, version 102007. The only way at this time to get an update is if Pioneer releases one. The bootup time enables the music sound first (5-10seconds), then backup camera (10-15 seconds), then map screen (30-45 seconds), then bluetooth (45-50 seconds), and finally full navigation and av functions. This is with the VR catalog turned off. I added a few songs and small videos last night to my ipod and turned the vr catalog back on, it updated the catalog in about 10 seconds.

I'm pretty sure it displays 1 item with each text button push. channel name/song title/artist. It might even display album name, I don't remember. I'll be leaving this morning on a 3 day roadtrip using the vehicle with the f900bt, so I'll update some answers when I get back.

The operations manual mentions that different features work with different tuners. The scc1 tuner can only memorize song AND artist, not song OR artist. I'm not sure about the starmate.

Sirius only has single line display with limited scrolling.

yes, the reverse wire connection allows for it to automatically display when in reverse, and the rca allows you to go to AV source and select rear view camera to display anytime you want. You will need to turn on the camera in the settings menu. I have the f900bt and a rear camera installed in my FJ Cruiser, and I can use the camera both ways.

to use the navigation while driving requires a bypass wiring.
