  1. i use it for the same reason. it's just a map to give me some extra info of the area around me while driving. i have 2 vehicles and 2 sat nav's a kenwood dnx5220 and this pioneer f900 so i really know what i'm talking about. and i had 3 other becker / kenwoods sat navs before in previous vehicles.

    Boot Time

yeah, that's a bit the same as with my kenwood dnx5220. it has 2 separate system, a kenwood part for the audio / video and a garmin part for the navigation. the kenwood starts playing sounds after about 3 to 4 seconds and the navi starts a bit later. but the box is fully controllable when you hear the music ie volume, radio stations etc. that will be longer with a big usb stick full of music. but since the f series runs full win ce, it makes it for me very acctractive for hacking. hence why i bought the kenwood for my wifes car and the pioneer for my own car... bt
  5. yeah, a sort of turn off delay. i know that the vdo pc 5200 sat nav computer has a option to set a turn off delay. this for example if you are at a filling station. you can set the unit to 15 min. so when you turn the ignition off the sat nav computer will stay on for 10 min. when back in the car and start the engine the route is still there, no startup time.

    Boot Time

are they not all computers just running a sort of os on it? i personally don't see any difference between them then a couple more options like bluetooth / sd card etc. they both have a radio / dvd / navi system. and a laptop coming out a hibernation mode is booted up very fast.
  7. may be using the search option of this forum
  8. As you can see, the mic is located a good distance away from the unit, leaving less leftover on the wire to coil up in the dash. Coiling up wire will lead to problems with interference and the more you have bundled up, the more susceptible to it it is. smart place to put your mic. what happened when you put the sunvisor down?
  9. it sounds good to me too got a dnx5220 / kca-bt200 in wifes car
