  1. I have a question for stephanie... I added the line in the .ui file for altitude display and since I live in Denver (above 1 mile high) my display usually says 1.0M or 1.1M. Is there a way to force the display units to feet in the scripting? With my very limited scripting experience I have found none. In the string that enables the display it references textmodel_wstr="navigation.current_altitude.full_text" Is this something in the data.zip or in the iGo directory that configures how the text is displayed? (other than font, color, size of course)

  3. Yep my green nano does the same. problem is the album art is resized when put on the nano so when blown up looks like crap.
  4. I don't mind the boot time 95% of the time im in the car because my XM starts to play after about 5 seconds. The only time it really bugs me is waiting for it all to boot up so I can input a destination. But I suppose AVIC FEEDS will solve that mostly. I would love to try it out but google does not have a send to selection for the pioneer units yet.
  5. The reason it did that is mac os x is retarded in the way it deals with archiving. Instead of selecting the data.zip folder open the folder, Apple+A, then right click and select compress. If you select the folder and compress it makes a data.zip with a data folder at the root ie. data.zip->data->contents of folder.
  6. I posted this in another thread... Already made one to match my VW.
  7. My XM sounds crystal clear..... Could it be a bad IP-Bus cable or maybe even interference from something running along side the cable or a bad ground on the xm module?
  8. Changing map colors is pretty simple. Go into the igo folder->content->schemes and grab one of the .zip files unzip it or explore it. (I did it by unzipping then rezipping it in OSX 10.5 just fine) Edit the files called color.ini and color3D.ini. All of the colors are in RGB values. If you want an explanation of what some of the lines change go here http://www.navguide.net/igomiofan/color-maps/create-your-own-color-scheme/ Also when you edit the files make sure you change the name and specify if the map is day or night. The website above shows how to do this.
  9. Nokia N82 = best imaging phone I have seen yet... 5MP with Xenon flash and AF assist light.
  10. So the permanent boxes and fixed heading orientation aren't because Pioneer fucked up, but because the iGO software is made that way? That really puts a different perspective on things... Pioneer correcting those things wouldn't be as much of a simple fix as some of the other problems with the unit, because they would have to go through iGO to correct them, if they even could? Bingo... Now the one saving grace of all this is the iGO software is currently at 8.0.0.44366. So it seems resonable to assume that since its a .0.0 release features will be added (Pioneer actually updating the
  11. Which basically means your movies will either stutter (higher bitrate then above) or look like crap using that low of a bitrate. My recomendation.... iPod off of ebay
  12. really? i remember reading somewhere that the apple one was cheaper. _shrug_ On ebay.....Chinese knockoffs. Let you know how my $9.99 cable works
  13. There already is a keypad for phone dialing..... But DURING the phone call to access voicemail, extensions, etc. I have never seen a hands free system that includes this. I would rather use my phones keypad for touchtone sending anyway. A touchscreen can't be operated by feel, my phone can.

    AVIC FEEDS

I found a video preview of AVIC FEEDS on the Pioneer website http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/Navigation/Trip+Planner+Navigation+System
  15. All that needs to happen is someone with some time and motivation needs to read the MIO forums over at gpspassion and make a new skin for the nav portion of this unit. The boxes on most NAV devices and all devices based on iGo do NOT disappear. Also the iGO software is not capable of 2D heading up.... this is not an issue with the Pioneer unit its an issue with the NAV software it uses. Basically it comes down to this.... If the boxes annoy you enough make a skin for the NAV. Also very improbable but still possible that with the release of AVIC FEEDS Pioneer may release alternate skins and

  17. You can tell it to attenuate instead of mute. its under AV Settings but you have to make sure the AV source is off to be able to change the setting.
  18. Just make sure your format the drive to FAT32 before you try it. Most hard drives designed for windows PC's will be formated in NTFS which the F series cannot read. This is probably the reason many people can not get it to work. I would try it myself but all my hard drives are HFS+. Every once in a while having a mac can be annoying.
  19. That would be so awesome if someone could figure that out. Pioneer should at least provide an option to modify the frequency of those notifications. Also, I wonder if the empty green boxes that remain on the map when no destination is selected could be removed with scripting? The problem with this unit seems to be the use of 3rd party Nav software. the "bugs" that we have are "features" of that software. If you have ever used a stand alone Nav unit like a TomTom the boxes for the next turn arrow never disappear, this is more of an issue of Pioneer having a bad "skin" on the Nav portion of
  20. 2D mode north up mode only 3D mode heading up mode only
  21. Now all im hoping for is pioneer to release a few alternative (read much better) skins for the Nav portion of the unit. If I had better photoshop skills I could make them. Everything needed is in the 2MBish data.zip file all the icons and scripting that makes it all work. The people over in the mio section of gpspassion.com have been doing this for quite some time (uses CE and the iGo software as well). Anyone in this forum photoshop skills up to par and know a bit about scripting? Also it seems I might be able to cut down on the constant direction giving (4+ prompts for one corner
  22. Hmm.. does the .ui file contain xml? I am wondering if they used qt to develop the GUIs. I can email you the data.zip if you want to take a look Easy copy and paste using the edit menu. I have already created one custom map color scheme and put it on the unit. Blue and red to match VW interior, but still needs some tweeking till im ready to post it. Color schemes are cake. Just different roads and areas with a comma delimited RGB value
