  1. I had the same issue, ONLY on the IPOD source, then eventually no video at all. I pulled the connector that plugs into the IPOD apart, and 3 pins were broken! I found very poor solder joints! I bet most of you guys problems can be fixed with a new IPOD cable, it fixed mine.
  2. Awesome mod guys, the best out there! Maybe its late, and I'm blind....lol I've been reading for hours and cant't find what I'm looking for. When in rout, at the top of the map there is what looks like a small thin progress bar with what looks like a green dot progress indicator. How do I get rid of this? Again, awesome work!!!!!
  3. Yup....set it at 125, and cut it below that on the epic. I would'nt think u'd want to cut it higher than 125?
  4. pp.s. Am i to assume the ones I have now are from April 10th, 2009, or just Feb, 2009?
  5. Look at bright side of the situation: at least, you have newer maps in your AVIC ... So what was the release date of the stock 3.01 maps?
  6. I figured it out. When I bought upgraded maps for my PNA, they must be Tele Atlas maps, I just checked my PNA, and AVIC and they both say Tele Atlas 2009.02 (090410). I assumed they were upgraded Navteq maps on the PNA Because thats what was on there.....weird!
  7. OK....I have it up n running, I have all my navteq maps loaded, and they work, and I have verified that its the navteq folder I have loaded, but in the pioneer about screen, under maps they all say tele atlas 2009.02??????????????? I also replaced the building folder with the navteq one.....The buildings look the same for St. Louis as the Tele Atlas did, but alot more buildings show up on my PNA? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  8. So far I didn't came over the Navteq premium POI's, only TeleAtlas or NNG. It would be interesting to compare, since I'm pretty unhappy with the TeleAtlas POI precision... Backup completely your AVIC, because you need to make room for the Navteq maps... Yup...I don't do anything without a backup....so I replace ta map folder, with Navteq map folder., and replace the stock ezrider, with this new hacked one.....is that it?
  9. From what I have read, Navteq maps are somewhat smaller, but still have better mapping data (may be better compressed or something) that TeleAtlas... I'll give them a try! The ones I have I just purchased last week for amigo. So All I have to do is Transfer my Navteq map folder over to the avic, and replace the stock ezrider with this new hacked ezrider? Am I missing anything?
  10. About POI: USA_Illinois_Premium_2008.10_090212_Tele_Atlas.poi : 16,196,780 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.Q4_090227_NavTeq.poi : 2,990,104 bytes About buildings : USA_Illinois_2007.09_071004_The_Sanborn_Map_Company.3dc(TeleAtlas) : 812,160 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.Q4_090219_NavTeq.3dc : 709,062 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.08_080812_Nav_N_Go.3dl(TeleAtlas) : 1,008,689 bytes USA_Illinois_2008.Q4_090218_NavTeq.3dl : 967,717 bytes And this is typical for every country or state... My TA POI for Illinois has 15,818 kb My Navteq poi for Illinois has 15,719 KB I purchased the upgraded poi's from
  11. My PNA with navteq maps have highway signs, and lane guidence, so u wont lose them. I'm not sure I'm going to use the navteq maps though......the files are smaller, which to me means (duh) less information! I checked, and my navteq poi files are the same size, or bigger than the teleatlas files. Also, all my navteq .3dl files are almost all exactlly the same size as the teleatlas files. What do u guys think? wats a PNA? PNA = Personal Navigation Assistant (Garmin, TomTom, Magellin ect)
  12. Yes, you can, even if it's not recommended, because the TeleAtlas POI's are way better then the Navteq's. @tommyis3:check your PM's. so can i put the navteq 2009q1 maps and use the teleatlas POI's instead? where can i get the latest teleatlas POI's? will i loose my hwy signs with the navteq maps? My PNA with navteq maps have highway signs, and lane guidence, so u wont lose them. I'm not sure I'm going to use the navteq maps though......the files are smaller, which to me means (duh) less information! I checked, and my navteq poi files are the same size, or bigger than the teleatl
  13. I compared my navteq maps to the 3.01 teleatlas maps, and the navteq maps are all about 15-20 percent smaller.......so is there really anything to gain? It seems as though the new navteq maps I have are smaller?
  14. I checked, and there is both .3dc, and .3dl files with my navteq maps.
  15. Yup my PNA has 3d building/landmark files. I'll have to try this. Right on guys!
  16. The map coverage depends on the area; generally speaking, you cannot tell which map is better, it depends on the country and area. As rule of thumb, if an map for a given country or state is bigger(IE 30MB vs 28MB), then is a good chance to have better coverage on the bigger map. But don't forget, this rule is just an guesstimate, nothing more. So I should be able to copy my navteq files to my avic and give it a shot then. What would I need? There is a licenses folder on the PNA, would I need to change anything in this hacked ezrider? Thanks!
  17. I have a quick question guys. I have a PNA device with IGO AMIGO, and have bought the newest maps with lane guidence, and highway signs. It looks very similar to what we have on the AVIC. The maps are provided by Navteq. I know we use teleatlas maps. Who's maps are better? Also with this ezrider, anyway to use the navteq maps, if its worth it? Thanks!
  18. If you have a windows mobile phone with wifi, u can get a program called wmwifirouter, then the phone would act as a access point using ur phone data plan.
  19. I just got a PNA device, and it runs igo amigo, has anyone messed with it? It has a real nice TTS voice named Susan, an i compared it to samantha in the avic, and the files are very similar. it also has some very nice vehicle icons for pointers........70 chevelle ss, a delorian(back to the future), jeep, tank, and a repsol cbr. where would i try to import these to the avic? Thanks guys!
  20. Ha, sheesh guy youve got alota complicated idears.. And xbox's are out of the question. Its all an entirely diffrent coding format. most people wouldnt even know what to do with an .XBE.. Also, adding RAM to an Xbox is tough. Soldering FINE prints that a machine noramlly does.. well hope ya got a steady hand. So, noone responded upon my idea of Autoenginuity well, mabey someone will read this now.. POCKET PC BASED. http://www.autoenginuity.com/products-scantoolppc.html Im gonna be tinkering with this soon enough. I just need to figure out a way to get a cable that wi
  21. idt....if i wanted the red car pointer, where can i get it, and where do i put it? Thanks.
  22. Quick question guys....My 3d landmarks work fine, but it is missing the St. Louis Arch for some reason. You'd think that would be the main one to have in St. Louis! Is there any way to add it? Just wondering....Thanks Guys!
  23. ok....actually anything with sky_1.bmp does it.
  24. ok....i just redid monoply with sky_3.bmp instead of sky_1.bmp and all is good........I like the look of sky_1 better......what is up with sky_1? It is in my gfx's folder, and is viewable fine, until u plot a route.....weird!
  25. OK guys......lets say I want the Sky from "Real-view v6 night clear" on the "monoply-night" scheme. I tried adding this ( background_picture_0="gfx/night/sky_1.bmp" ) to "monoply-night" and it displays fine, until u try to run a route, then the unit reboots. What am I missing? Thanks!
