you can figure it out. if it just needs power, cant u do a relay w/ the amp turn on from the stereo? or something like that. you gotta be able to do something

no way to bypass teh factory stereo? what car you have? it looks like a ford. there must be some way.

nav is to get you from a - b, and b being a place you don't know where/ how to get there. Its not to get you to a local 7-11. Do nav takes the easiest way. may not be the best. but if your going to "b" you don't know what the best or the worse is. nav is supposed to take u easy and direct way. all the navs Ive seen are the same way. in some manuals they even state that.

ok i burned my DVD. when i did the single layer DVD first, to do the backgrounds and stuff. the Nav works. i can zoom in all the way. when i burn the DL DVD the nav doesn't work. I cant zoom in. I tried burning in Alcohol 120% and Nero. wasted TWO DVD DL. !!! lol. its like the system cant read the second layer? am i doing something wrong? I have an iso, and burn. is there something to do with the layers, and the avic cant read the 2nd layer? i don't know. I'm lost. Please help!

I just burnt a copy of the latest maps. 60. and for some reason i cant zoom all the way in. the closest i can get is where the map shows the main streets. i cant zoom in any further, if i try. all i get is a blue screen with the arrow. anyone else have the problem? i flashed it back to the old version, and then re flashed to the new version, and the same problem is happening when i flashed back to the old, i did test te map. and it worked normally

I have DVD+R DL is that ok to burn on? Will the system read it? Thanks

Marauder - i have a swi-ps for my avic d1. works great. very very very small delay. but that's it. not as bad as IR. I don't get why installer places dont have these or know of them. I went to a few install shops to buy one, and only one of them had it. and one told me it wont work in my car. what a dumbass. its universal. anyway. it works and was easy to program, and DO NOT need a remote to program it.

i dont know if you can do that, but are u saying, u want the sub less powerful? then you can lower the gain. the pre-outs i dont know if you could change from 2V to lower. sorry. maybe someoen else will know how to help you.

sup gain, i think you have to set on the amp. i assume thats what you are talking about. some amps can be controleld from certain stereos. i think kenwood hu can control kenwood amps. sorry if this is not what your thinking of

hmm, i was using guide mode, but just map view. and i was scrolling around NYC with my finger on the closest zoom, didnt see buildings, hmm. i wonder what part of NYC it is on. I dont NEEEEED it, im just really curious. lol

where did you get that list? I wonder where in NY? I didnt see it. Do you have to enable city maps or anything? Or should it be automatic?

I feel if it will not communicate with the screen. It comes with a remote. So im taking that as a hint.

Has anyone seen these "detailed city maps" that have bird eye views of buildings and such? the site claims 23 cities, but i don't know which ones do.

i was thinking of running it up on the front, along the windshield, but i couldnt get it to stay

thinking about it, i wish there was a way to get the d1,d2 to save teh audio settings, after losing power (ie. disconnecting battery)

well for the antenna issue, you may of needed to buy an antenna adapter. My gps antenna is mounted on the dash as well. I wanted to put on the roof, but the wire was not long enough. I got a suv.

you can, you just need an RCA output camera, that powers its self.
