  1. You're not supposed to modify any of the upgrade files.
  2. Don't you all live in igloos anyway? And those all look the same.
  3. DEM files are independent of maps, although newer ones are probably more accurate. In any case, I would not expect to see much terrain unless you are driving through the Rockies (Alps) etc.
  4. You could use multiple. It'll pick up the best one for your current location. You don't really need a lower-res one if you have a bigger one, though.
  5. This one worked in the emulator on the first try. Didn't save route and POI visibility settings when I did exit (test mode configured in sys.txt) but it restarted after that, which is better than the previous data.zip I was testing in emulator. Thanks!
  6. SYS.TXT [interface] recalc_voice=1 ;Turn off recalculation warning That should do it, supposedly.
  7. Hmm, May be I missed one update, because speedcams is the only change that is outside of the spoiler tag on 4PDA...
  8. Strange. In any case, there is only one latest hacked EZRider for 3.x firmware...
  9. DEC. 2 Update (Andr2000 version for firmware 3.0) + For extended speed camera types where speed saved (200 Km/h) is irrelevant, it is not displayed on the warning sign on the screen.
  10. Kinda strange... Can you say, which country 3DC files are you loading, and what LICense files you're using?
  11. Were you running a previous version of this mod before? Or any other mod? It should upgrade on top of either stock or previous version fine. If going from stock, you also need DIGITAL.TTF font file as well.
  12. I would like to able to go to the phone settings from the nav screen. Thanks Jimbo I'll need to check on the Russian forum. I believe they had a list of messages you could send through iGO scripts to bring up different AVIC programs. Why would you need to access phone settings that often, though, I wonder...
  13. Strange... All I can say is that it does run on mine, and author's, obviously... I've reuploaded it from my emulator folder, just in case, but really there weren't that many major chnages anyway. What do you mean by Phone menu? I'm pretty sure that it is doable, though.
  14. Yeah, of these, NavIT is the only one that shows some potential of, eventually, being useful as a navigation tool. The rest either haven't been developed in ages, or aren't exactly useful for in-car navigation, and/or rely on maps that would make one look at our old TeleAtlas maps with love and devotion. It's rant time! Yes, as a development project, it might be an interesting project to take on, even though I would argue that while WinCE development tools aren't free, they still are lightyears ahead of almost anything that might be available for free for Linux. Having said th
  15. And what navigation software would you put on it? There are few Navi systems that run on Linux (i.e. TomTom's PNAs), none that I know of are for sale to run on third party hardware. And without navigation, AVIC isn't exactly useful.
  16. I just use both Navteq and TeleAtlas for the home state and a few around. Gives pretty good coverage.
  17. 700/900/90 are pretty much the same as far as software goes, so it would work on any of them. Of course, you could run Ozi, or Garmin, or something else straight from Testmode, but that sort of defeats the purpose of having an integrated A/V headunit with navigation, IMHO. People at 4PDA.RU have made pretty good progress running third-party navigation alongside or instead of iGO, but it all does require more hacking of the unit then usual.
  18. And as usual, Linux would be as useful on an AVIC as glasses on a monkey.
  19. Umm, no. F700 does not run Garmin software, and therefore can't use Garmin maps. You could hack it (search for Leetlauncher thread here) to run Garmin, but it's a hack.
  20. Go the the corner and write 1000 times on the piece of paper: "I am too stupid to mess with electronic devices. Azux"
  21. Just checked my 4Shared account again. It is the Nov. 9 version. Note that download link never changes (well, as long as I put them on 4shared), only the file itself gets updated.
  22. Within normal error range, particularly for altitude (you need more satellites locked to get altitude reading). Also, inside a garage you won't get too accurate a reading anyway.
  23. People who can not think can not be helped.
  24. May be also gpsunderground. If you can handle Russian, somebody on 4PDA.RU might also help (they did ours)...
