  1. One thing I do know...is that the D1 and D2 had better mapping..... Upgrading my D1 to the d3 mapping gave me the same mapping as the d3. They act exactly the same now....whereas before....D1/D2 was better at navigation.
  2. Probably now and May... probably.... Not sure why they release the products so late.
  3. Between now and May, most likely....
  4. I guess you should have said that....
  5. What are you talking about? The D3 is a released product so yea... it is possible that the 2008 D3 maps will be available end of March. Pioneer NA also told me end of March early April. Jason
  6. Well the D1/D2's don't have this problem until updating to the D3 maps. So I blame it on the mapping software.
  7. Hopefully the updated maps coming will repair the routing issues. Although for me it's pretty good.
  8. What the OP wants to do is mod the background. Make them different then what is available. How is what you answered.......right? What the OP wants to do is not available in the manual. I don't understand why you gotta blow up on people. TO THE OP: I'm sure there is a way to make new gauge backgrounds but i don't have the knowledge to do that.
  9. try looking a little bit.... this thread is on the same page! http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12281
  10. Thats how 3d view is... its a crappy 3d view!... I never use it.
  11. I just looked in the service manual... Like stated here... PIN-6 on the combination meter harness is the speed output. Tap into that and you'll be good.
  12. Yes it is the installers obligation. Did you have a bose stereo before? what trim radio was it?
  13. Speed Sense wire for your truck should a be a light blue wire that was part of the stock radio wiring. VSS WIRE Lt.blue In harness on back of radio
  14. I have the burned copy. I don't believe that should make a difference. Or should it? Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Sounds like the copys were burned using a regular DVD instead of dual layer. To do that the POI's need to be deleted to fit on a regular dvd.
  15. What I ment to say is they are similar to Fideroptics.... CAN bus uses one bus to send and receive multiple signals.... the difference in the CAN BUS is that it can only Send/Recieve the signal one at a time. Here is the WIKI Description: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN_bus So using the CAN Bus will only confuse the AVIC.... more than likely it wont work and it could affect another gauge. I mentioned in your other post...using the MOVE line that goes from the Cluster to the Cruise module.
  16. Looking at the diagram you posted... I would try the MOVE(Pink) wire since its the only constant from the PCM and the cruise module. My Altima has the same CAN line setup ....
  17. Those sound like CAN lines. They are fiber optic and are used to transmit multiple signals. You need to find a different line. You can go to www.the12volt.com and search your vehicle to see if it is listed.
  18. Well looks like you've been through everything.... change out the XM unit.
  19. weird how people have problems with this.... I just installed a d3 in my car... and moved my d1 over to my wifes truck. I never have any major issues with it.... although the latest 2007 maps are pretty bad.... it's not the d3 itself but the maps..... Things changed with the routing since i upgraded to the 2007 maps. I'm making major suggestions to Tele-Atlas's website for next years map.
  20. Its not the Mute wire... its your parkbrake wire. The light green wire.... make sure thats in all the way and make sure its grounded properly. Jason
  21. That wire doesn't look violet/white to me. My car has the same exact wire .. its blue/black. I haven't tried it though....Has anyone here with a non-bose/ non nav system try this?
  22. If you have abs or the cvt you don't have a vss wire to the dash. The speed is communicated to the console via CAN lines. The is a CAN-L and a CAN-H line..... VSS hookup is not plausible.
