  1. Hello, Can you tell me if the white/green VSS is the same on an 05 Focus? Assuming so, but thought I would double check. Thanks!
  2. Anyone happen to know if they made it pause your ipod/iphone when you get phone calls now? This is a real annoyance for me, as I like to listen to audiobooks. If I get a call there is no way to pause it, since the call menu pops up in front of the ipod "buttons" means I have to rewind back to where I was each time.
  3. It is very unlikely the harness you purchased (or the factory one) will include a wire labeled as "VSS". You will have to do some research to determine what wire will provide this for your specific vehicle. You can ask on this forum for the specific information for your year/make/model vehicle, or search around on other web forums for your vehicle type.
  4. Anyone know how to verify you have the VSS connected and working properly? My speedo in nav setup looks to be accurate, and I've had no problems navigating, but hard to tell if its working without some kind of "Wire is connected properly" type message.
  5. Question about your F90. Did you get the iPod AV cable with it? I ordered off of Amazon, but from Globazaar. My unit did not come with the cable, and after quite a few emails and phone calls back and forth with them, I eventually called Pioneer. They also told me that the cable was not include (???) even though their website states it is. In the end, Globazaar sent me a cable free of charge, but seemed silly to me. Anywho, wondered if anyone else had that experience.
  6. Interesting! I will have to try converting my widescreen stuff to 4:3 while I'm ripping. Maybe that will do it.
  7. Just to clarify, you mean something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-4-Channel ... 966&sr=1-1 Sounds reasonable enough, would explain why it seems so loud out of the front speakers as well.
  8. It actually just creates a single contact, with three numbers attached to them. Same way it displays on the iPhone. If you have a contact with more than 1 number and you do the voice dial as: "Call Dan Smith" It responds "I have more than one number for Dan Smith, which do you want?" You can then say "Call his mobile" (or something similar with the keyword mobile in it) If you don't want the additional step, you can just say it right off the bat, which is what I do "Call Dan Smith mobile" or "Call Dan Smith work" I've had no issues with it not displaying contact info wh
  9. Hmm interesting. I'll have to poke around in there when I tear it apart in a few days. Maybe I can figure out a way to avoid the amp all together.
  10. It's all in the manual: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Stati ... al0722.pdf Pages 175 - 178 For MP4 here are the basics: Video Codec: MPEG-4 Size - 640x480 Bit rate - 480 kpbs Frame rate - 24 fps Audio Code - AAC I'm starting to think that MP4's on this unit are pretty useless as well. I have had absolutely no luck having it fill the entire screen, even with 640 width for my rips. I don't mind letterboxed at all, but it doesn't even fit width wise (very confusing). If you use DIVX you are require to play off a DVD!?!?! However, the maximum specs are higher?!
  11. That was my guess too (bad ground). Just wondered if everyone got the same results I had. Oh well, I'm taking my dash all apart anyhow to hook up my ipod cable that my F90 didn't come with even though it said it should have... (at least I got it free). I will check the grounds on everything again, and tape like a fool!
  12. I have actually swapped it in my iPhone to be first name first, and then did a resync, same scenario. If there is only a single number for a contact, no need to say "mobile" if there are multiple you have to specify. Otherwise it will say "I have multiple numbers for Smith John, which one do you want?" I think I replied to your other thread about get your F90 installed, if you figure out how to get your address book going the other way around let me know! Oh, you do have to sync it up any time you do a change in your addressbook. If only there was mobileme on this thing!
  13. http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVIC-F90B ... 438&sr=8-1 $761.45
  14. For my mic, I just installed it on top of my steering column, right at the bottom of my gauge cluster. Sits in there fine as my as cluster has a nice lip for it to hold onto. Sound quality is good, haven't had any complaints about people not hearing me. If anything, it's too loud in cases, and I have to talk quieter. Transferring your contacts with an iPhone is cake (3g anyhow, not sure on the older Edge models). You just have to pair it to your iPhone, and then choose the address book sync button, it will do the rest. I had no issues transferring mine, and have updated it a few times
  15. Thats a good question. The button beeps were very loud indeed. I was able to turn these down considerably in the setup though. Vehicle info: 2007 Nissan Xterra Offroad with the Rockford stereo option. When I did the install I just purchased the plug in wiring harness and connected the speakers that way. It does have a factory amp, but only run the factory subwoofer (AFAIK anyhow).
