  1. It's been so long I thought it was carvers hacked ezrider when it was dpdurst who modified a already hacked ezrider for elevation. Here's his download http://gpssoftware.us/avic/30/ezrider_alt_mod.zip I don't know what version it's for or what else it may have other the ability to add new maps and report elevation in feet. Remember though, that you still need to change the code in the data.zip to gps.elevation. Here's a couple links as well: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/24974-elevation-in-feet-this-a-solution/page__p__185835__hl__%2Belevation+%2Bezrider__fromsearch__1#entry1858
  2. gps.elevation will work to show feet up to a mile. See this thread : http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/18571-post-your-max-elevation-display/page__st__15 I believe if you're in area with elevations over one mile you'd need carver's hack.
  3. Kruuth - While there is much truth in what you wrote, there will still be people that can and will mess up the installation and think it's the authors fault. It really is time consuming and takes a great deal of patience to support the mods, whether it's a full blown data.zip or just an added mod to an existing zip. Back when this unit was in it's infancy most everyone was learning at the same time. Bits and pieces were being added a little at a time. Rarely would a whole data.zip be offered. Doing it piecemeal we learned to explore the files in the zip and have a better understanding of what
  4. Chuck, You've come a long way since I was last on. Looks really nice.....especially all the new icons. Keep up the good work.
  5. It's in the schemes. If you have a scheme that the buildings are rendered to your liking, create a txt file copying the [clip_planes] section from the scheme. Rename the txt file to clip_planes.ini and copy it to your data.zip in the common folder. You may also search in the mods forum for additional info regarding clip_planes
  6. Congratulations! Yeahhh!! Nice! Congratulations from Portugal!! Thanks everyone. Being a grandpa is like having a new kid that you can spoil but don't have to deal with the poopy diapers, feeding and waking up at nite, just give her back to mom. Abb - No disrespect to you at all. I just can't see myself getting all gong ho at modding again. I hardly use the thing as is so trouble shooting would be difficult. From the pics you posted it is very nice looking. One other thing I've learned is that many of the features that I've added to mine over time are hardly used. I use
  7. Whenever you update the firmware (Pioneer issued, legal copy) the mods get deleted and a new data.zip is installed by default. The new firmware should have also included maps and the license to allow the maps to load. If you bought it, Pioneer should be able to help you through the issues you've encountered. Otherwise, you need to search this forum for others that have had similar issues and see if a working solution has been accomplished.
  8. Sounds like you need to alter the sys.txt file, particularly the [map] section. Here's what I have been using for well over a year with good results: [map] 3d_max_tiltlevel=9000 3d_min_tiltlevel=5000 3d_zfar_horizon_ratio=200 3d_max_zfar=60 zoomfactor=105 tiltfactor=20 If you have some of these already and want to experiment with other values just put the new test value in front of the old value but with a semi-colon in front of the old value. An example is 3d_max_tiltlevel=9000 ;7500 with the ;7500 being the old value. I particularly find the tiltfactor=20 very useful
  9. Hi everyone - Just stopping by to say I still check on things once in awhile. Abb - The mod looks great. I went as far as downloading the files, but I never installed it. As much as I enjoyed working on the AVIC when I was really active in the forum, I just did could not bring myself to starting up again. Nothing against what everyone is doing. Just my desire has waned more than I thought. BTW - My daughter gave birth to baby girl about two months ago. Mom and baby (grandpa too) are doing great. For this I am most thankful for.
  10. I've also added this mod. Just started playing with it. I may have to change something on my set up as the sizing of the car model is not changing. I may have missed something along the way when adding it or I might need to alter my sys txt a little. misterblue - Thanks for the hard work and making the changes so the appearance of the screen matches the other Pioneer screens.

  12. Sorry to hear that, IDT. May you have better luck going forward. You deserve it.
  13. MB - Looks like a really nice addition. Since I do use my own zip, I don't think I'll be able to take advantage of your hard work unless you separate it from the MB mod.
  14. So very true Dumpy. We all helped each other figuring things out. \ Life does goes on
  15. I wish I was better doing graphics so I could help. I use gimp and it took me forever to learn the simple things. Welcome back, IDT.
  16. Go back to the split screen thread and re-read the instructions. Sounds like you missed a step or two.
  17. In the Chicago area, I've found that teleatlas gives you better coverage regarding speed limit info on most major roads as well as the interstate changes. Navteq primarily shows on some interstates. Teleatlas also shows all sign boards with regards to exits and interstate changes. Navteq only showed interchanges. Plus for navteq is that it appears that newer street info is more current. You can add either navteq or teleatlas in your map folder without having to use mapchanger. Use only one at a time and keep a backup of the other. Try them both and see which you like better.

Jimbo = I replied to your PM.
  19. Comment out in and you should get it going. Don't forget to add what I commented on in the split screen thread regarding the var def ui and call button. BTW - Why do you feel the need to create new threads and spam other threads instead of posting your issue in the thread pertaining to your question? You done this for over a year now and it's not good forum etiquette.
  20. yes, but when you change the colors in the color.ini file in the scheme, it has no effect on the color in the map. Knowing this information, how would you change the colour of the ground or the color of a major road? Instead of quoting Chucks post, I was just replying to his question to Boris whether there could be another color.ini file somewhere. I found the four in the common folder, which in no way should interfere with changing the colors in a scheme. I'm trying to help out here. I am not an expert regarding changing the way colors are displayed within a scheme. Not sure if Spec
  21. In the common folder there are four color.ini files: day2dcolor.ini, day3dcolor.ini, night2dcolor.ini and night3dcolor.ini. One would think the schemes would take precedence. Especially given the fact we have a variety of schemes that differ from each other. I believe the only reason those are there is so the system can boot if the schemes folder somehow got corrupted.
  22. No problem. Google LeSScro, he the scheme master that created most of the schemes that are used in conjunction with themechanger. Also, visit this site for other scheme authors and their work. Xerses is also very talented at creating themes. http://artwork-igo8.blogspot.com/search/label/scheme Be warned that if you download any of schemes from that link they can not be loaded on our units unless they're modified first.
  23. Regarding the bluetooth try replacing the visablemodel that's in there now with this one visiblemodel="other.pioneer.bt_connected"
