1. any info on a free (or cheaper) ulocking method that is reliable and won't leave me with a $2K paperweight? (As impressive as it might be as a paperweight, I am partial to the funtionality of the unit as well)
2. yeah, I can't get this to work either and I have followed the instruction provided in the manual to the letter... No go... Also, on a scale of one to ten, how dicey is actually changing the boot up screen? How many of you all have done it successfully? Thanks, I am very confident in my competence with wires, HDs, etc. but taking a chance on something that was more expensive than my more than capable laptop, and by far less fix-able worries me...
3. it seems to play nearly all burned dvds, depending on the burned format, IME. Double layer too...
4. so this reset wipes out all the settings, but it leaves all the tracks stored to the HD, right? Or do you have to reload those too? Thanks... Ironically, I need to do this same thing... I have a roommate who thinks its funny to change the display name on my smartphone... I didn't check before I set up the phone with the z1 the first time, now everytime I get in the car and it picks up the signal I get to see "King Douche successfully connected" - which goes over well with any and all passengers... Thanks, from King Douche.
5. GREAT CATCH Matt! I just bought one for my smartphone and ipod... I had previously ordered on for the Z1 and it is a MUST have, you can't notice that its even on there, but it makes me feel completely confident punching away at the buttons on the unit... 40%, as you said, makes it a must have.
6. sorry, I forgot to link the page... http://www.shieldzone.com/item_descript ... VICZ1.html I called and they gave me the dimensions... 6.1" x 3.2" Doing the math, this works out to be just shy of 6.9" so I am confident that it is indeed for the 7" z1, as opposed to the 6.5" N3, which is pictured incorrectly on the website... I have ordered so I will get back to you with my thoughts if anyone is interested.
7. So how have these held up (The ShieldZone protectors)? On their website, they have one specifically for the z1, though the picture featured is a different model... What gives? Testimonials?
8. So, pretty much you are a Superhero, right DucatiBoy? Because you certainly saved the day here for me...
9. You stated that everything else worked, so the BYPASS DID work? The guys that are installing mine said that the bypass wouldn't work with Sept. '06 models (but they could just be telling me that)... So, does anyone know if in the last month or so, if Pioneer has somehow changed the design or wiring of the unit to disable the bypass noted in the stickies? I have yet to try the bypass myself, but give me 24 hrs and I'll let you know how it works... Didn't mean to hijack the thread, but, then again, I kinda did...
