  1. well if the unit is getting power and not turning on, then youve got major problems. if it gets back to the boot loop, a little searching will give you many things to try to fix it. can also send it to pioneer with a check.
  2. apparently there isnt any information about this as no one had done it yet.
  3. got to just get used to it, it is just how it works with pioneer. i did delete any abba on my ipod because of this, now i just get to listen to AC/DC when i get in.
  4. this is a very simple problem to figure out, did you also connect the AVIC's purple/white wire to the wire in the tail light that you used to power the camera (or another suitable connection in the car)? if it is not connected the avic doesnt know when the car is in reverse and cannot switch to that input. if it was hooked up right as described in the manual, and the problem IS that the brown input is bad, then when you shift into reverse, the screen would go black and just show the warning screen.

you will probably have to re-image the drive. as long as windows wasn't F'ed up, you will also need a copy of someones flash disc to copy to yours. you can also send it to pioneer with a check.
  6. i would never use a "cleaning disc" having a disc with a brush embedded that spins at a few thousand RPM's can scratch lenses. also if one of them isnt working, i doubt that a different one will because they are all built the same. the only way that a optical drive should be cleaned is by disassembling it and using a cleaning swap with a cleaning solution.
  7. for clarification, that is for a C6 vette, any other car will probably be quite different. also the propper harness for most (if not all) of the C6's vettes should have data modules which should decode the signal from the can bus and have a propper illum wire that can just be connected without having to chase one down in the car. (i will also add that sometimes, not all of the features work as designed with these data modules)
  8. this is how it has to work in your car, the avic should be fine, however this could up the percentage of your unit getting a corupt file. there have been a couple of ways to get around this, one was to creat a device that would keep the unit powered up for a few seconds after power is lost from the acc being dropped during cranking. it would only need to stay powered for a second or two longer than what it would take at the longest for the motor to crank and start. i dont think that this is a good ideal, durring cranking, the voltage is much lower than normal, i think that this is far mor
  9. well if the avic is working correctly, then that only leaves the camera. make sure that the camera has power (apperently done already) make sure the camera has ground make sure that the video cable is good. ^^^^^ if all of these are good, then it looks like you have a bad camera.
  10. put a meter on the remote wire and see if there is 12v when the radio is on, if not, then that is not the remote wire.
  11. the yarn is easy enough to come by, its finding the right two cans with propper acoustic properties that will be difficult!
  12. thats interesting, because when i go out for a run or out to the gym, i never see anyone working out with a G Nex strapped to their arm, its always a nano. and while it is an indurtry standard, you cant get music to stream through USB, you would have to "pull" the data from the phone and then decode it in the radio, which the radio has an inferior D/A converter to the one inside of ipods/iphones, and which is why pioneer uses the usb to control the ipod/iphone but gets the audio signal through a direct signal line out, which no android phone has (unless you count the few phones with HDM
  13. there is a reason for this. its because 95% off all mp3 players out there are iPods. also the kind of people who buy $1k radio's are more likely to buy $300-$400 ipods over $40 sansa clips. and even with Android out selling apple in operating systems, android is still split over a 100 different models with no consistent hardware (or even software for that part), the iPhone is still the best selling model of phone. it is way easiers to cater to one company that releases one model a year, than it is to cater to 20 different companies that all release as much as ten or defferent models a year
  14. actually black goes to ground but red goes to accessory power (same as the red from the radio harness) first off, not all cars have positive trigger reverse lights, a lot of cars have a negitive trigger reverse light (this is why there is an option in the menu). with negitive trigger, the positive wire is always "hot" and the cars computer switches the negitive wire on and off, there fore the camera wuld never shut off and would drain the cars battery if it was connected to the positive wire in such cars. second, by doing this, you will not have the full functionality as designed, the
  15. you do have to remember, these units were designed to be used with ipods first and formost, iphone compatibilty was an after thought. since iphones should be paired with bluetooth, the intended user shouldn't be plugging and unplugging their phone constantly, the only time they should be plugging it iin is when they want to listen to music from the phone. any user outside of the norm, should not be surprised when their use causes small inconviences. also, has anyone thought that maybe this is pioneer's way of telling you to stop f'ing with your phone, and focus more attention to dri
  16. that was a totally different problem, it had nothing to do with you orignal issue. as mentioned above, you need to figure out which device the problem is with. the easiest way is to substitute different components, for ex: try hooking up a dvd player to the camera input on the avic and see if that video signal ahows up. if it doesnt, they the problem is with the avic. if it does work, then try to hook up the camera to something like a small tv to make sure that the camera is working.
  17. yes there is, but its not in the X series section of the forum, also dont post in there about it, just find it, its right out in the open stickied at the top.
  18. sorry, this made it sound like it wasn't regardless, i dont think that is you problem. but it could become another problem. i would test to see if the problem is the avic not showing the image, or if the camera is not outputting an image.
  19. how did you get the wire from outside the car to inside? what are the chances that the antenna wire was damaged?
  20. i would try a different SD card, i have came across one or two that would not work.
  21. ^+1 if you are just using the sync cable that came with the ipod, then you are using the wrong cable. refer to the manual, and get the right cable.
  22. first off, if the camera is connected to constant power, it will never shut off, and will drain the car battery. reconnect power wire to an acc power source. second make sure you have a good ground. make sure you have the reverse wire from the avic connected so the avic knows when to switch to the camera source.
  23. fine, then dont try his trouble shooting steps. good luck finding the problem if you wont rule out possible issues. but in the end, you either have a bad antenna, a bad avic, or a bad antenna placement. and no, there is nothing to activate for gps, you simply turn it on, and let it work.
  24. i believe that the harnesses are different.
