  1. depending on how much wiring you have behind the radio you may need to cut a little bit of plastic out to make it fit in good (on the factory radio there is a pin that sticks through a hole in the back to stabilize the radio)
  2. it should not be in the "next" open slot, it should be over 1 down 3 (oppisite row, 4th pin down)
  3. from DirecTechs Reverse Light - lt. green + pol passenger kick or BCM, pink plug, pin 2 The BCM (Body Control Module) is to the left of the steering column. Speed Sense - brown ac ABS module, pin 21 The ABS module is in the driver side rear corner of the engine compartment. On the V8 models, the VSS wire is also orange at the ECM, gray plug, pin 45. The ECM (Engine Control Module) is behind the driver side headlight, in the air cleaner assembly.
  4. because driving soesnt need that much attention anyway! but seriously, you can listen to somthing else while you navigate, if you need more than that, the Z-series it is
  5. it will start playing the last source after about 20 seconds (except for music on SD, that takes a lot longer) but you cant change what you are listening to for about 40 seconds i remote start my car every time i walk out to it, to let it warm up just a bit, so i never have to deal with it
  6. mounting brackets either come ot the factory radio (iso mount) or with a dash kit (that you will need to buy) also there is a mounting cage kit that you can buy seperatly that comes with a trim ring. they dont include it because most cars that are double din you will need a dash kit to fill in the space around and the radio woll bolt right in to the dash kit (thats why it came with a bag of screws) or you will use the brackets off of the factory radio if the radio is the exact same size, there is a very small percentage of cars that will need the cage kit (VW's,custom installs) the pioneer
  7. make sure that you REMEMBER your password, there are a couple of threads going around of people who have forgotten their passwords.
  8. yes, you will need to find the factory Sirius tuner and put the new XM tuner there (because there wont be enough wire to run it anywhere else) unless you get somthing like the 20' or 50' ant extension. you may also need to disasemble part of the ant connector to plug it in
  9. you are using the ipod cable with usb and composit video and the yellow plug is connected and the AV1 setting is set to ipod right
  10. if you dont have the premium sound system and you need the module to interface with the factory amps, i would ditch the module all together and just run a new ACC wire. most of the CAN modules seem to be very buggy and the F-series is buggy enough
  11. password protection doesn't keep it from getting stolen, it just keeps it from getting used after it is stolen
  12. get driving in a straight line and then cover the GPS ant with a small sheet of metal and see what is says for speed traveling
  13. also make sure that your bluetooth software is up to date
  14. the gps antenna can be placed in the car, either on the dashboard or under a dashboard panel if it is plastic only, metal will block the signal. the XM antenna placement is a little more important because there are fewer sats to get info from
  15. i really like the ipod interface, plus with voice rec, you can just say the name of the artist or the playlist you want to hear. i also dig the fact that you can play videos right off the touchscreen and dont have to use the ipod to select anymore
  16. i would go with the analog clock myself, it just seems classier and i'm not a big fan of the small clock on the F-series
  17. i just mesured our f700 thats on display and its only over 7" if you mesure from the farthest point on the front (volume knob) to the farthest point on the rear cooling fan, its a hair over 6.75" from the front of the screen to the back of the cooling fan(the screen should stick out through the dash kit just a hair as well). the harness should not stick out too much further than the fan, the GPS antenna connection should stick out the most
  18. just grounding the parking brake wire doesn't work, you need to do one of the parking brake bypasses, either hardware or software
  19. the green parking brake wire comes off the back of the radio and is suposed to connect to the wire on the cars parking brake
  20. i like the ipod cable a little better because you can play video's right off the touch screen, instead of having to select them from the ipod itself
  21. the wired remote plug in the back of the unit is for the steering wheel control adapter to plug into, not an IR extender
  22. the f700 doesn't have a VSS wire so their is no speed sence to hook up
  23. are you using the ndg500 amp that is made for the f500?
  24. the volume should turn up when you turn the rotory knob clockwise what is this noise that you speak of?
  25. new chevys do not have a "AMP" wire anymore, its all data controlled, you will need the module as it turns the amp turn on signal in to the data command the truck needs
