  1. it makes a huge differance on my f900bt, with out it it is blinding at night even with black backgrounds
  2. you may need to look into the Z-series they cost a little bit more but i think they do some of the things you are looking for (dual zone) hopefully someone that has a Z will chime in to confirm this
  3. the 700bt does not have a video out that can be ran to the back, the 900bt does. the ipods plug in to a cable and it does charge the ipod (most ipods, there are charging compatibilty issues) also the f-series does not support dual zone (watch one thing in the back and listen to another in the front) whats on the front is going to be on the back
  4. if you only want the camera to come on when in reverse, you can just tap into the pos and neg wires right at the reverse light itself since most camera's dont use much power at all (compaired to a incandescent bulb) however if your car has circuitry that detects a burnt out bulb you might not want to do this. i personally would run a fused power wire back to the camera and use a relay to turn on the camera, then you will need to find out if your reverse light are pos or neg trigger and set the relay up accordly, or if you want to be able to use the camera at any time just use the acc wire from
  5. i was out to lunch to day when i received a phone call, which switch my view from XM to map, and all the map showed was a black screen with a 2" earth on it. i could switch back to the AV source but if i hit the map button it would just go back the the blue marble. so i shifted into neutral, shut the car off and restarted it and it booted up fine and went right to the map (after the caution screen, of course) which worked fine. i have never seen this yet, has anybody else experenced this? is this just one of those glitches you need to live with?
  6. ive used the metra kit in the past, very easy and looks pretty good

    Sirius Antenna

or you can use a 50' home ant extension to put the module where ever you want it

    Sirius Antenna

you will need to find where the factory sirius module goes and put your xm module in its place, also a lot of the time the connector is very similar but not 100% the same so you will need to remove the plastic connector to plug it in
  9. done many bow ties, SWI-PS works like a champ
  10. i always just call whoever DC's me back because i dont feel like pulling the phone out of my pocket to press the button every time i want to talk, but it is neat, it also scares the sh1t out of me when i am driving along and the music just cuts off to some one screaming at me
  11. at the price of a camera online, i will replace mine IF it ever wears out. if you are that worried about it, but you still want to be able to see behind you when you are not in reverse, you can wire it up so that it only comes on when its in reverse, then add a small switch to power it when ever you want on, on top of the auto on for reverse (just dont forget to use diods so you dont feed power back into the computer or back up lights)

    Bluetooth mic

its a standard 2.5mm plug, most factory equiptment will use a proprietary connector so will you will need to solder on a new plug, but thats about it
  13. lamo , thats the best thing ive heard yet today my 900bt had the 2.0 sticker on it, but the update was on the sd card inside the box, and i had to update it myself
  14. you will have to get the wire diagram and find the input wires to solder a video rca on it, but it should work
  15. the brand of rear screen will make a differance, my part time installer has a D3 and a factory panasonic flip down in his 06 tahoe and we where able to solder rcas into the signal wires for video in (watch dvd's from the front on the rear) and video out (watch a dvd from the rear of the front) for steering wheel controlls you will need the SWI-PS however if you dont use the bose amp, i dont think you can have the onstar still work, the pac module send the new audio into the amp along with the onstar, i haven seen a module that will sent out the onstar sound to the head unit so that you
  16. actually i just googled "cayenne double din dash kit" and guess what the first thing listed is, a double din dash kit for a 02-08 cayenne
  17. wow i just googled "cayenne dash kit" and like the 8th thing down was a double din dash kit, it was like $390 but thats nothing if you can buy a porsche
  18. i took out my glove box and put two little slots in the top, then i put a strip of elastic through the slots and tied them together at the top (outside of the actual glove box under the airbag) and put it back together. the result is now there is an elastic holder that secures my Ipod to the top of the glovebox with almost no extra cable or nothing can slide into it, (my glovebox is a little different than most, instead of the entire thing moving when you open it, its more of a stationary box, and the door is the only part that moves) eventually i want to make a slide in dock for it
  19. rarely a day does by that i dont break out the trusty dremel, +1 on being careful with melting. 1 Dremel 2 file 3 sand 4 paint
  20. Any ford? ...Super Snake?... Ford GT?....... oh yeh, nissan doesnt even know what a super car is and while i was waiting for my tires to get mounted eariler this week, i was reading the motor trend where the new CTS-V spanks the new M5 and cost 30K less
  21. yes the AVIC is a little bit narrower than the factory radio, you can get a dash kit that has plastic edges to fill the gaps right, or you can use the factory brackets and then take a small sheet of abs and cut little pieces to glue to the dash board to fill the gaps, if someplace has the double din dask kit in your area i would go that route its a lot quicker and easier and looks real good.
  22. well i'm an installer and i use this forum for all sorts of information, and i think its only fare to receive this info, if in my down time i try to answer all of the questions i can with the databases i have availble to me.

  24. i love my 900bt. it works great for me, i havent had any of the problems people keep complaining about, if i had to buy a nother unit tomorrow, i would still buy the same one.
