  1. Bought my 700bt from them, paid regular shipping, came amazingly fast. Unit is working great.
  2. The purple wire from the unit that taps into the reverse wire simply tells the unit to switch to rear camera view when in reverse gear. Which wire you tap into for the camera's power source depends on whether or not you want the camera to always be powered on, or only powered-on while in reverse. Since the F-series allows you to switch to rear-view mode manually, it's nice to have the camera hooked to a constant power source, that way you can view what's behind you without actually being in reverse gear.
  3. Crackling sound is obviously not an issue with the unit design itself, and sound is subjective. You probably just got used to your D2. Personally, I think the unit sounds great with the "Vocal" EQ setting, Bass boosted to about 3, and loudness turned to "high". Give it a shot, sounds great on my set-up.
  4. So, I bought one of those $20 back-up camera's off of E-bay: I have a cigarette lighter outlet in the back of my Highlander, so instead of tapping into an existing 12v wire and ground wire, I bought a cigarette lighter Y cable that you can just solder the camera's wires to, like this: Well, when I turned my unit on, the little fuse part of the camera (circled in the picture) started burning. Does anyone have an idea as to what I did wrong? I doubt I mixed up the positive and negative wires, but even if I did, it shouldn't have burned, right? The power input for the camer
  5. You can modify the software later. Have them hook up the speed sensor. Have them ground the parking brake wire to any wire that grounds to the chasis. Very simple.
  6. The idea of the 700bt being equipped with the necessary hardware to access MSN Direct is not out of the realm of possibility. Many manufactures reduce costs when targeting multiple price-markets by retaining a single manufacturing process and limiting/disabling features via software tweaks. Some of the more notoriously overclock-able CPUs are great examples of this, right? Good luck to those trying to figure it out.
  7. I can only find iGo 8.3.1 maps for the US. Will these work with the iGo software included in this launcher, or must I find 8.3.2 maps? If the latter is the case, can anyone help point me in the right direction?
