I am getting close to buying this phone from ATT. I currently have an Moto V3 that works great. Has anybody tried this phone with an F series?

Count another one with VR problems. I have an old Moto V3 that worked perfect with V2 software on a 700bt. Now I have installed V3 the control for the Ipod works OK, by this I am saying it is not as good as the V2 yet works some of the time. However the calling by speaking the persons name now is not good. I never had a problem before yet now if I say call XXXXX, it might work yet most of the time says do you want help with calling, Ipod, etc. I have given up a bunch of times and just gone to my contacts and hit the correct person. So much for hands free.

This is a common problem. You have to set the scale to 500 feet or less.

I to have had some issues with 3.0 on the VR side. I feel it is not as good as with 2.0. With 2.0 controlling the Ipod worked very well except when changing source to Ipod. I have always had problems with that and with 3.0 I am still having problems. I never had any problems with playing a play list yet now with 3.0 I am having some problems. The dialing on BT I also have some problems so I was glad to see this thread and know I am not the only one that has seen this. Over all I am happy with 3.0 yet find it strange that VR got a little worse.

I have the hardware bypass since installing my 700bt in March. I upgraded this week and everything is working great. Never had any problems with the unit.

While I was updating mine I put a 2 amp battery charger on it and left the engine off. All went great.

Updated 700bt. No errors at all. I did SD1 Friday and then found the Password site down so drove around with 2.1. The unit did not work well. After Password site came up I got mine and installed SD2 on Tuesday. Everything went fine. The key presses are much better. The map display in very much improved. Sign boards are very nice. Arrow is much better. I CAN see the clock. In my area (north of St Louis) the map data base is much better. On start up time to music on the radio is faster. For me the street names show up when I am at 500 feet. I have read that this is common with 3.0. Not sure why seams kind of lame to me.

I am another one hit. Just got off the phone and was told to try every couple of hours yet it could be Monday untill it is repaired. Bummer I was looking forward to trying this out this weekend.

I have the same thing as the above posting. Mine said it shipped on the 8th yet I just got an E-Mail that said it was sent on the 10th. I also have a tracking number yet it is not in the UPS system. I am looking forward to getting this.

All the negatives have been with 3.0 taken off the X series. We are just now getting 3.0 made for the F series so I would wait and see how things go. I am sure people will be posting about the good and bad when we start installing this official update.

I have a similar problem with 2.0 installed. The unit gave me a startup problem a couple of days ago and I had to reset things and then the system language was just some strange looking thing. I change it back to yet when I hit Voice language the system hangs, so this looks to be a problem with more then one unit.

This is normal for the 700. It has to see the satellite and update your direction after making a turn, Mine does the same thing. Dave

I am using AVIC feeds and trying to add a POI group. The group added fine yet when I add a POI into the group only one shows up. I can go into the edit and see them all yet I can't get more then 1 when trying to use the nav screen. Thanks

I installed the F700 about 5 months ago in a 2006 Vibe. The unit came with the 2.0 update and the only mod I have done to it was the parking brake bypass. I did the hardware bypass. I really like this unit. I have very little bad to say. I have a ipod hooked up and I use a motoV3 phone. The ipod has only given me 1 problem, and that was the ipod locking up. I had to do a reset on the ipod and all has been fine since. I do find the maps on the GPS to be outdated compared to a year older TomTom, yet they should have a new map update out soon. My 700bt does the same thing. Kind of strange yet looks to be normal.

As long as you splice in the connector needed I don't see any problems.

I have my F700 installed in a Pontiac Vibe for about 3 weeks now. I do like this unit. The blue tooth with a Motorola V3 works great. It transferred the contacts fine except putting the last name first yet that is how it is listed in the phone so no big deal. The sound on both ends is very clear, and I am using the included mic. My wife says it sounds better then the Moto blue tooth I had in the car. I installed a iPod about 1 week ago and I love it. The VR works great. I see on the Pioneer site that the Nano 4th gen is not compatible with the AVIC-700bt. Yet I have read here some people have it working. If the connector is different how do you guys get it to work. I have never had an IPod so I don't know much about them. Thanks

Thanks for the work around. I just installed a 700bt this weekend and was wondering how to get around this problem.
