What I meant by my response was that I had full BT and steering wheel controls with my tablet install.

You are right about it becoming common place to release half ready products and I have committed many times on that very same realization. Personally I credit Microsoft for starting that treand but lets not turn this thread into that shall we. Anyway, welcome to the Pioneer early adopter crowd. There are post about this same topic with every new series of unit that is realized. Ive seen them all on here over the years and they are always almost verbatim, the same complaints from series to series.

It has everything to do with Apple in this context. Anyway, what would make even more sense would be for Pioneer to simply re-implement voice control for thier units as they did with the Z series up to the Z130.

Because your connected over BT, not AirPlay. Airplay includes all forms of media over WiFi including video. These units do not support video over WiFi. You're mearly looking at the symbol that indicates the audio output on the phone is travling over another output other then the phone speaker and that is not Airplay. The reason I am splitting hairs on this is to aviod noobs seeing this and start creating threads about why these units dont work properly with Airplay. If you are going to post something on here make sure you are not opening a can of worms for misinformation.

No one said it couldnt be done. Anything can be done. I said it wouldnt happen. The ratio of users of Apple products being used with a Pioneer stereo is so neglegiable to the overall users of Apple products that we shouldnt even be having this conversation. If you really think Apple gives a damn about a few people wanting to control thier stereo with thier phone you not only dontget the whole purpose of Car Play which is to control the phone from the head unit, but you also dont get what Apple is about here. It will never happen.

Ah, so how long is boot time when the navi unit isn't connected?

That is, no doubt, iGo Primo navi software. I am curious if the unit takes that long to boot without the navi module attached.

These units are expensive.

Nope. I pretty much already knew from my experience from previous units but some were claiming different on how it worked so I wanted to clarify from others that had the units.

Honestly I wouldn't waste any money on a navi solution from Pioneer. Although the new navis are much better then the previous 4 or 5 years, they pail in comparison to any smart phone navi app. With app mode and soon to be Car Play it really is a no brainer to me. Of course I've owned just about all the navis from Pio and Kenwood over those years as well as an in-dash iPad so I may be a spoiled. Anyway, it will be the AVH-4000 and Car Play for me next.

The 260 uses a custom version of iGo's navi software and is far superior to the previous version. The navi software used on the 250 is garbage.
