  1. No kidding. You get a notification when you're 2 miles away, 1/2 mile away, 1/4 mile away, and then when you're AT the turn. There's no way to comment out the 2 mile and 1/4 mile notifications in the code somewhere?
  2. I was more just wondering if this is a change that was necessary in the 1.x firmware that Pioneer made permanent in the 2.0 firmware - and now EVERYBODY has it done...
  3. I have "Home" in both places. I have all of my contacts exactly the same between the two. I'm saying them exactly how they appear on the AVIC. ...And I'm saying them exactly how I've always said them with my crappy headset. I'm hoping that somebody else with an enV will chime in here and either confirm that it doesn't work with my phone or tell me that I'm an idiot and to stop barking into the mic...
  4. Are the x&y coordinates the topleft-most pixel? It doesn't look like they would be the center pixel, but I'm just making sure before I screw it up...
  5. Is this confirmed to have an effect in 2.0 firmware or no?
  6. 1) I don't want the clock displayed. I have a clock in my car 6 inches above my screen, and I can't read the one on the screen anyway. Where can I comment out the code that displays it without affecting any of the time calculations for routes? 2) I want to remove the scale. Should be easy enough and not affect anything, but I can't find the info on here how to do it short of installing a complete mod - which I don't want (yet). 3) The route summary stuff (ETA, distance remaining, etc.) gets covered by the phone popup window when I'm on a call. Guess what the single most asked question is? "
  7. Thanx for the info, Newman. I've made sure I'm saying the contact name exactly as the AVIC stored it. ...but that doesn't apply for "Home" - which is a stored location on the AVIC... My phone worked great with VR calling when I had nothing but a cheap bluetooth headset - but it doesn't work with the AVIC. I would press the button on my ear, say "call home" and it dialed. I'm using the LG enV (not the enV2). And the way that the AVIC needs the phone book to be transferred gives me the impression that it's not even using the phone directly when dialing a contact - that's why they were al
  8. I never did anything actually *on my phone* after the initial pairing. I told the AVIC to get the numbers, and then it took a while, but it finished fine (only about 150 contacts). My phone never even lit up like something was happening... it just worked... Hope this helps! Be patient!
  9. This is the single greatest thing that this site now offers. No more endless searching or clicking through multiple pages to find updated files and instructions. Love it!
  10. Go to Google and type (without the quotes): "site:avic411.com " and then your search string. For example: site:avic411.com trying ...gives you the top result as ill.die.trying's mod page. And I recommend you read this stickied thread: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18977
  11. ...not that Pioneer has shown us that they're good at taking our suggestions, but perhaps firmware 3.0 will incorporate this as well...

    Games?

Has anybody figured out to create games on this thing? It's only Windows CE, right? ... Now, before everybody wants to kill me, I'm just thinking about a simple game of Solitaire while I'm sitting in bumper to bumper traffic or something... I'm not talking about Quake.
  13. The only single problem I have with my phone connectivity is that the F90BT does not understand what I'm saying when I'm telling it to call somebody. Once on a call, the opinions that I have received are good - seems like it's working great. Now, while I am unable to place a VR call by the name of my contact, it DOES however seem to work amazingly well if I just say the number I'm trying to call: "Call 8005551212" and it does it - so I think it's a quirk with the VR software. Regarding sunlight, I don't know how it will affect the life of the unit, so you'll have to wait for another respo
  14. Yeah, mine will be brighter when the headlights are off. ...I don't think it will fade according to the dimmer, though... is it supposed to?
  15. I'm wondering if it's an issue with how folders are organized on the disc... I burned a mixed-format-disc (music and a couple small DVD rips) and it gives me the "Unreadable Format" error, too. Will it read a disc that has multiple movies in different folders? Or do we need to format the disc so that it thinks that there's only one video on the disc?
  16. I'm subscribing to this thread - same exact problem here. I felt like an idiot trying to get this thing to work... "Call Home" "Calllll Hooooooome" "CallHome" "Caaaaaaaaaaaaall Hhhhhhhhhome" "Caaaaaaaaaaaaall Hhhhooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmme" Nothing. (and yes, I have programmed the "Home" location's numbers - it doesn't work with any of the contacts) Fix it! The mic isn't gonna get any closer to my face - it's at the top of my A-Pillar.
  17. Some vehicles have built-in amplifiers, which connecting the blue wire should resolve. Other than that, I would get a schematic for your specific vehicle and see if there's anything else that you could have possibly missed. Then maybe get a professional to look at it. ...I'm pretty sure you're not the first person to install this thing into a Silverado... SOMEBODY should be able to chime in with a better answer.
  18. Well I should slow down!! Where on earth are they? I KNOW that there are a lot of red-light cams, but I really don't think I've ever encountered a speedcam here...
  19. Maybe I'm stupid, maybe I'm a little naive - but what the heck is a speedcam? Is it just what it sounds like? If you're speeding, your picture is taken and you get a ticket in the mail? Is this a UK thing? I work in Los Angeles, and I always thought that if there was something wacky with anything related to traffic, I would encounter it in my commute - but I have never seen one of these things...
  20. Alright, sometimes the wires that everybody is referring to get confused. Is it the wire from the head unit or from the harness or the one in the car? Reading all of the bypass posts on this site can confuse you cuz people refer to things slightly different. I just got my F90BT and connected all the wires on my kitchen table and the whole thing was working with no issues in my car with an installation that took me no more than an hour and a half. Here's all you really need to know: 1. You shouldn't have to touch the REAL parking brake wire in your car. Leave it alone. If the installe
  21. Will a factory reset fix this? I think you just have to use the stylus or something to push the button by the eject button...
  22. The first thing anybody's gonna say is "check your wires" - so do that. Triple check them. It really sounds like mostly a wiring problem. Are you playing your iPod through the USB, through an AV input, or through the input on the front of the unit? Does the volume sound low for this input when compared to the other sources? If you are using the AV inputs, you may have it actually installed into the "Rear Output" RCA plugs. I have seen in home theater systems sometimes if you plug something into the "out" ports it will feed all the way back to the unit as if it were an input. This would al
  23. That Metra 95-8202 looks like exactly what I'm looking for... I don't know why I couldn't find it... ? Does anybody have pictures of it installed? 1loudls? ..not that it's really gonna matter - it's my only option!
  24. I'm looking for a trim ring for the installation of my F90BT for my 2005 Toyota Matrix. Metra seems to have the only trim ring that I can find - Crutchfield.com doesn't even say that they have one. Any suggestions on a high quality trim ring? I don't want it to look like crap...
  25. Though a UPS debacle delayed my shipment about 2 days, I finally received the unit last night (F90BT) at 9pm and installed it - had it done by 10:30pm. Installed, bypassed, antenna amp working, everything but the VSS (which I'll do later). Piece of cake - but I DEFINITELY need a trim ring. The sight of the gaps on the sides of this thing mar the entire image of it. Thanx for your help 1loudls! I've created a post in another thread for suggestions on trim rings.
