  1. My iPod works very well with ver. 3.0; and the catalog option can be turned off and on as before. No problems there...
  2. Great--I'll try it then. Thanks guys.
  3. I have ver. 3 only, not 3.0, and, in fact, I do have the same question... Perhaps someone else can answer: are keepers' and tail24 changes compatible with 3.01? In other words, can we install 3.01 and then re-install the mods? Anybody out there done that yet? Thanks for any insight.
  4. Thanks for putting these together tail24-- I installed it on my f90bt yesterday and all seems ok... Great work and very helpful-- this is what Pioneer should have released orginally. Now, if only it would start-up near instantly, like my old Lexus-Toyota one did, we'd be in heaven. Everything is so much better than ver. 2 and the mods are truly very helpful.
  5. I know you need a F900-- mine is a f90 with the 3.0 version on it. If you get desperate and want to try mine, PM me; I am not sure I follow all the steps above (have never done them), but I'm comfortable with Testmode and WinCE...
  6. Installed 3.0 on my f90bt yesterday, including the DATA.ZIP that (I hope I have this right) WilliamG modded. All seems to work well and --indeed-- it is way snappier and responds well to touch now. As others have remarked repeatedly, this is the version that Pioneer should have released originally! It could still be a bit faster in terms of boot-up and rear camera action, but it is now quite acceptable. Not as silky smooth and instantly-responsive as the Toyota-Lexus one I used before, but acceptable... So this is mainly to thank everyone on this thread for all their input, and even for t
  7. Hey thanks a lot, spacewilly!! I just realized that WinCE hides the extensions... That was helpful and all is well now.
  8. Hi everyone-- Thanks soo much for doing all this work and for sharing it with us! I need a bit of hand-holding, please; not much, just a bit... I installed the ver. 3.0 on my F90BT and all seems fine. Now, however, do I understand correctly that the "soft bypass" and other goodies are in the DATA.ZIP folder that is part of the "install files" download? My help request is the following: in Step 12, the original guide of retell seems to require copying this Data folder to MyFlash Disk\APL2\iGo. I haven't dared doing this yet because I cannot understand whether that zipped folder (DATA
  9. Hi WilliamG thanks for modding-- Any chance you can upload again? Looks like rapidshare will no longer let me download ... I really would like to try your version.
  10. Hello folks! And thanks for all the 'hacking' and background work you've done on this 3.0 issue. If it isn't too late, and if it can help, I can provide some server space and access for uploading a reasonable amount of data that could then be available to others to download... In return, would one of you experts consider writing a step-by step guide (for dummies like us) to implement this? I realize that it may seem trivial for most of you folks who play with this a lot, but it is truly confusing to try to reconstruct every key step from the discussion thread, and then apply all this to t
  11. Wow guys--- isn't anyone out there going for the red ones? Was I the only one, Tom? How about some statistics, maybe organized by geographical area? This could lead to a whole new pysch study... Even though black seems to be winning, I love my red one (still)
  12. This surely is a dumb question on my part, but-- have you tried calibrating the screen? It's unlikely that it's that far off, but worth a shot...
  13. I'm not sure about your phone, but 'beam' usually refers to infrared, not BT? Does your phone recognize the Avic as a 'hands free device? And, if it does, don't you have some option in your phone's BT menu to 'send' stuff to that device?
  14. Thanks for the clarification above, ferdyduke; that's very helpful...
  15. Hi all--I'm new at this so please bear with me... First off: hats off to all of you modders; this is teriffic stuff and us regular users are extremely grateful!!! That having been said, I already need some help, please. I did install cmh928's "newbie-eze" mod without a problem 2 days ago. It works great and is very nice. Thanks for all that work! Still, as everyone here, I was also curious about GTIMatt's. And, so --just now-- I installed his latest by following his instructions. It was only a partial success, in the sense that the unit works but most of his buttons and boxes aren
