  1. That would be great to add back in. Did you follow the instructions here or where there tweaks for it? viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18624&hilit=mute+button+mod&start=60 Thanks, Ben
  2. 1 - Yes there are new maps. The internal date says 2008.10, but I've been told that the maps are actually 2009 maps. 2. I wanted to play it safe and removed all the previous files in the flash drive first (even some of the user data folder), but I think it will simply overrwite everything. I didn't want extra files sitting there taking up space if files were replaced by different named ones. 3. Don't know - but may be able to search the images file to see - I don't use XM.
  3. THANKS TO ALL THAT FIGURE THIS OUT! One thing I did while upgrading is go ahead and overwrite the files that came in the 3.01 upgrade w/ the 3.00 baseline. Seemed to have worked great. Thanks, Ben
  4. +1 on that one...(probably should post that though since many will likely look at the this since it has a new post...)
  5. I'm slightly confused, I thought the iGo saved area was here: My Flash Disk\USER\UserData\iGo but maybe there is a different user area under the base iGo dir... EDIT: btw - could be wrong - I'm still learning this, but: See the sys.txt in the leet iGo dir: [folders] data="\My Flash Disk\User\UserData\iGo"
  6. Yes, if you keep the APL2 folder as it is and just copy of the one folder - the iGo 8 still works. Thx, Ben
  7. EDIT: stupid question was here before - you obviously update the contents of the zipped folder into the \Flash Disk\Data directory on the unit... Figured it out - thanks.
  8. if you are referring to the three icons at the main menu - they are located at: Images.res\ Common\746_32K_MN-640_32b_normal(_push).bmp (Destinatinos) Common\746_32K_MN-641_32b_normal(_push).bmp (Contacts) Common\746_32K_MN-642_32b_normal(_push).bmp (Sources) Thx, Ben
  9. +1 on that note. Got to give credit to the few who know how to dive into thatt level on this forum.
  10. This is something I found from a previous post: I don't really know what your cracking skills are, so i'll give there general guidelines. One thing you can do is dissasemble (using IDA pro) the matching patched and non patched version of ezrider. Spot the function where there are differences and note them. Dissasemble the new version, look up for the same functions and apply the same differences... This won't work as is every time, some times the functions would have changed a bit and you'll have to patch them to get the same goal ... some times there will be new checks and you'll have t
  11. I was curious what's involved in hacking the ezrider to work w other license and map files? I'm sure it's not an easy task - just wondering what it entails. Especially if we can get the ezrider for the iGo 8.3 working w/ the upgrade done in the other post. thanks, Ben
  12. This worked for me as well. I noticed the CommonLib modification posted in a different thread to get rid of navigation warnings didn't work for me anymore. It seemed to have just stayed on the splash screen and freeze there - but besides that - worked great. I just reverted back to the original one bundled w/ the 3.0 APL folder. Wonder how hard it is to modify the ezrider to work w/ other maps... Thx, Ben
  13. My misunderstanding. The chances are that it will overrite all the files. much like a modded 2.0 going to 2.006 gets overwritten. Thanks, Ben
  14. Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure the mods will work since the upgrade is switching from iGo 8.0 to iGo 8.3. So I doubt it will be a direct drop in of mod - instead it will likely require adapting the changes to the new base files/.ui/etc... Thx, Ben
  15. any way to test these things w/ an emulator of the exact image of our CE OS's. I know that there were emulator instructions on the wiki, but this seems to launch a pocket pc rather than running a true image of our units? That would allow for a lot easier and risk free testing, but may not be possible.
  16. Let us know how this goes. Am really curious about the US version posted in this page too! Thanks, Ben
  17. thanks for the quick reply. heard mixed reviews on if people's units were running a little faster so wanted to ask the direct question. Thanks, Ben
  18. So do you recommend going to 2.006? Especially if you don't plan on going to 3.0 any time soon? thanks, Ben
  19. They don't - looks like that user has posted blog links for every post made on different topics. (if you pull up all posts by that user) Very useful stuff ~Ben
  20. 3.0 requires a set of xml files for it's albums - so yes it will work, but some additional steps are needed to have it scroll through the different album arts/etc on the coreplayer views. I'm not sure if the location for the maps and other content has changed, but I know that has.
  21. I was looking at how to add the lane assist option back in (or am I missing it). When I go under map settings I don't see an option. opening the settings ui file - I noticed that some hacks have a vLaneInfo variable settings, but can't find the respective values. Any ideas on how to add it back in and/or enable it? (I assume it's more than just adding in the variable like this, right:) Thanks, Ben
  22. hmmm - that's an interesting idea. I am not using the reverse camera and could potentially set it up and activate it by the reverse lead... I will have to keep that option on the table to investigate. Thanks, Ben
  23. I think I know the answer to this, but any ideas on how to use the inputs for the video portion - but still keep uadio playing (on fm, cd, usb mp3, etc...) I am trying to think of options to display engine information on the screen through the video input. Thx, Ben
  24. Yeah, I was surprised at the amount of blaming people get for posting their mods. Most appreciate all the hard work and understand it's thier work for their units - and people shouldn't just update their units w/out understanding/researching on how to backup/etc... but I won't get another thread like that one started...
  25. It was on this post: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=23338&hilit=CMH+Download But it looks like it may have been removed. Maybe somebody else knows a direct link. the download use to be here: ftp://avic:avic-411@buckeyecollision.us/cmh928/ but I think it was removed. ftp://avic:avic-411@buckeyecollision.us/ will have it go to the rot of the ftp site w/out the anonymous login... Thx, Ben
