  1. Completely wild guess? Somebody did the software bypass so it was cleared with the firmware change. Search for software hack and you'll find more info about re-applying it.
  2. I doubt you can uninstall 3.01, but you should be able to just redo the 3.0 installation.
  3. The bypass works fine with all firmware releases.
  4. What phone do you have? The bluetooth system is generally a bit buggy, but some phones are worse than others and there are fixes for a few of them. I haven't used it enough to see if it seemed better with 3.0 (for that matter, I didn't even look to see if the bluetooth software version number changed). Might be able to check the version number late tonight.
  5. Understood. But then you say this: So again I'm back in the same boat... Does the "bouncing" one have the supposed fixes in it or not? I understand that everybody who installed the "bouncing" one report faster button response, but what about everything else? Aren't there release notes somewhere that somebody can look at to see if the paid version contains the same fixes as the "bouncing" version? I find it hard to believe that - of those who paid for the update - none of them have compared to what others are seeing also. I really didn't think that this would be that hard: you tak
  6. No, it has nothing to do with being a 'wanna be mod', etc... Your behavior is RUDE. If you have a little respect and create your own thread and ask a question, people can read it and try to help you out. Also, the next person with the same problem can easily search and find your post and whatever fixed your problem. Instead, you've asked the same question multiple times in people's existing threads. All you're doing is cluttering their own threads up. You seem to think your problem is more important than theirs. Take it elsewhere so you can get your own help, and stop trying to take ove
  7. This is off topic and has NOTHING to do with a review of 3.0. Make your own post.
  8. Stop posting this everywhere. If you're having a problem, start a thread and explain what's going on. You've been posting this question incessantly in multiple people's threads, rather than letting them solve their issues and finding the right place for yours.
  9. Other than to tell you to review what you're doing very carefully and to search this thread to see if anybody else had a similar issue, I'm not sure what to suggest you're doing wrong.
  10. at the end copy what files...Im trying it your way cause it seems the other way isnt working for me The flash dump from the X series AVIC that you torrented in the beginning of the instructions. Unzip the file and browse the contents. Inside you'll find a folder called 'My Flash Disk'. Put that folder on the SD card, boot into testmode, and copy everything in it onto the AVIC's 'My Flash Disk' folder.
  11. I'd really like to clear this up once and for all. You DO NOT need two SD cards. You also DO NOT need to load files on it twice. Before you ever leave the computer to go work on the AVIC, copy the files so the SD card root contains both WinCE image files, the Testmode folder, and the 'My Flash Disk' folder from the torrent. If you want to do the software hack, stick the Data.zip file in the root also. That's all there is to it. Go boot the unit into the WinCE upgrade mode and flash the files. Reboot into testmode, copy the files, eject the SD card, and reboot the unit. Done...
  12. They could certainly do that with the 3.0 side of the update, but I'm not sure about the WinCE portion. In any case, it only takes one card to do it this way and you're in and out in a few minutes. Not a big deal if you read through the instructions a couple of times.
  13. The 3.0 update done in this thread is not difficult. Download two file packages, dump them on an SD card. The two WinCE files in the root, Testmode folder, and drop the 'My Flash Disk' folder onto the root of the card. Launch into the update mode, install the WinCE update. Reboot into testmode when it's done, drag and drop the contents of the My Flash Disk folder onto the AVIC. That's IT. I don't really see how Pioneer could simplify it much. You only need a single card and it doesn't take more than a half hour, the majority of which you can spend doing other things while it copies file
  14. Should be identical. It's the new WinCE image combined with a flash dump from the new 3.0 equipped X series radios. There's nothing cobbled together about it.
  15. Alternatively, you should be able to reflash the WinCE image (with format) and just start over with the 3.0 upgrade.
  16. Save the torrent file locally and open it in your bit torrent client. For some reason the file handling doesn't seem to work properly to launch the torrent client with that link. Don't know why... The hacks are different in 3.0. You'd have to find the location of each change and edit the config files accordingly. It's not in HTML. It can certainly be done, but it's more involved than you appear to realize. Where is the bit torrent client? Is it on the unit? Ugh. Try this.
  17. This is NOT an all inclusive update to 3.01. It is just a package to step from 3.004 to 3.01. You cannot go from 2.x to 3.01 using just this package.

  19. Unzip the X910BT.zip file you downloaded. Inside, take the 'My Flash Disk' folder and copy it to the SD card. In Testmode, copy the contents of that folder into the AVIC's 'My Flash Disk' folder.
  20. I paid $558 on eBay and got $44.64 back from Bing. This was in the beginning of May. I separately purchased a Squaretrade warranty, although I don't remember how much that was. Check Crutchfield for a direct features comparison. I don't remember what all the differences are off the top of my head.
  21. From what I've seen, that's pretty accurate. HD radio issues, the audio mute on phone call problem, and most other problems seem untouched. The new version of iGo seems to be a great step forward, and using the interface is much smoother. However, both of those are updates done by other manufacturers that Pioneer finally included. It would be nice if they would fix the design flaws with their own software too. At least the new radios use the same software, so we can hope for a version 4.0 somewhere down the road.
  22. The F90 includes the iPod cables, among other things. Differences were discussed here in the last day or two. I purchased my F90 new on eBay for $515 or so several months ago.
  23. For the US it's been done (3.0 that is, not sure about 3.01) and is not difficult. I'm not aware of an EU conversion yet, but that would probably just require a dump of the AVIC drive contents and torrenting it.
  24. Amen to that. The bypass is so that you or a passenger can make quick nav updates while driving. If you feel the need to watch movies while driving, you shouldn't be driving at all.
