  1. I didn't know anyone used Nokia phones anymore I've never had problems with mine, but I use an LG
  2. I don't give a shit about the Maps. I just want the system firmware, and that should be FREE. Especially for a Head Unit that retailed for $850. I totally agree. Dear nubs, Read the rest of the subforum. The new firmware CANNOT support the old maps. The new maps WILL NOT run on the old firmware. They must be bundled together for this reason.
  3. Great success. Thank you. Though I will say I find the "Speed" display mostly useless since it's so small and out of my line-of-sight. Instead, I put the "Speed Limit" one on there, but it's displaying in km/hr... Can I change that through the settings menus? I haven't looked as of yet.
  4. thanks pwnin the barbarian. i'll give it the ol' college try.
  5. I may be an ass, but I still give you the answer... better than other people that just tell you to Search
  6. http://www.gpsreview.net/tomtom-map-update/ Use Google next time.
  7. According to the owner's manual, it's not a line-in. It's an A/V-in, and it requires a special cable/adapter, which is all covered in the manual.
  8. ...and these links you send are for???? spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam
  9. Doesn't the manual also say that the VSS is "unnecessary" for the 700 on the same page?
  10. Google Shopping... easily 5 minutes of Google Shopping, countless days of reading reviews, weighing the pros and cons... then I bought it from CarToys.com's Amazon.com Storefront for $594 + Free shipping. Like 4 days after that, it went back up to $899. Way to go me!
  11. "This promotional price is only available while supplies last. Will not ship until Late July or Early August."
  12. Attempting to repair the device yourself will likely void the warranty on it :-\ Especially if you open it up. It's weird that Pioneer would just make a rash assumption that everyone has done the Parking Brake Bypass, considering the vast majority of owners probably don't know about this forum, and frankly probably don't care to modify their headunit.
  13. So? Buy it. Don't implicitly condone piracy on a public forum to which Pioneer and police have access. It's one thing to do it. It's another thing to post about doing it. But no, seriously. I paid for it yesterday, and you should too. Surely $60 isn't much to ask, when compared to the price of your headunit and taking into consideration that you'll be getting a genuine product that is backed by Pioneer's service.
  14. Why on earth would you wait? Read the site. Once they're gone, it's back up to $120.
  15. This is JMTC, but the F-series screen isn't exactly big enough to make it worthwhile. It's bad enough when you get a BT call, and it takes up about 1/3rd of the lower map screen. Taking up 1/2... I think that'd be unusable, unless the resolution of the display was much, much more, or the screen was huge.
  16. I had that issue once. All I had to do was restart my car and it fixed itself. You may also want to try resetting, if that doesn't fix it.
  17. Dumb to make another thread about the Speed Sensor, but I don't think it was covered in the others... How do you know if the Speed Sensor is working? I recently hooked up the speed sensor wire to the proper location (I know for a fact it was right). Is there a way to test to make sure it's doing its job? Maybe go through a really long tunnel or something? ALSO, on a side note.. Originally, I had my GPS receiver sitting on TOP of my F90BT, behind my dash. With that setup, I only ever connected to 4 satellites at MOST. I moved my GPS receiver to part of the frame of the car, a bi
  18. Thenpay it off and when it gets here 1-2 months from now, it'll be like a free gift! Bank card,...not a credit card. You said that in a surprised way. Were you surprised that upon purchasing something, your card was charged? lol
  19. Capital One took it out of my "available credit", but that doesn't necessarily mean they've charged my card. Most companies will not charge your card until they have shipped the product, to avoid complications.
  20. Do the hardware bypass. It's much easier, and will never "not work".
  21. First off, why would you tell Pioneer that you did the bypass? That has nothing to do with anything. Make sure your ground is COMPLETELY grounded. Make sure the positive connection is hooked up. If it doesn't at least power up after both of those, it is something wrong with the device itself, in which case, you contact Pioneer, say your device stopped working, and you send in the DEVICE, not the harness, so how would they even know you did the bypass??
