I wonder if there will be a replacement service, seems like only XM has something to offer at a higher cost and less services. Does XM weather even work on our devices?

Trouble Shooting Rockville MD Area
hamilfour replied to hamilfour's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Problem solved, installed today Garretts new hard drive. How was the problem resolved, I have no idea but it works so that is all that matters. -
I too am a believer of the Z3 drive from Garret, was concerned that stripping the screws would be a issue for me. I took the advice from a few other posters and invested a few extra dollars and purchased a good screw driver. I had no issues removing the screws at all. The service provided by Garret is very dependable, this is rare in a world of today when so many don’t really care. PS might have solved another problem in the mean time too. I went with the big drive. Cheers

Trouble Shooting Rockville MD Area
hamilfour replied to hamilfour's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Yes thank you it was working before without issue. Right before I deployed it started acting up, had no time to fix at that point and as stated above the shop which did the install is out of business. I depart again this Thursday so unless something turns up real fast it goes back in storage for another 6 months. -
Trouble Shooting Rockville MD Area

I have to push through two screens to be to the main menu. First is parking brake issue then the second one was the initial sign on screen. Actually my car is in the shop so I need to refresh my memory to be sure. I have seen the issue posted here before. Thanks for your intrest. -
I believe grounding is the problem, based on what I have read on the site. Therefore I am looking for a handy person whom is better adapted to trouble shooting than I. I am not a handy person nor do I have a lot of time to spend on the issue; coming home from Afghanistan on a short break. Could anyone recommend a shop in the area of Rockville or DC Metro? I have a 2004 SSR Chevy. I am looking to add an amp also, but first fixing the issue is number one. The issue, as I remember from 9 months ago going through two screens to get to the main menu and non of the by pass options work.

Thanks cntrylvr79, I did a quick try on a few buttons and it worked. So I guess the next step is wait for a over ride to use all/more buttons then I have now. -
Greyed out buttons (Ducati or AVIC issue?)
hamilfour replied to dan46n2's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
I had the Z2 installed yesterday, but today I noticed that most of the buttons are greyed out. I have connected BT and back up camera. I can't even get in to set the clock. Most maps work, and the camera works fine. However, I am not able to connect my phone. The panel is greyed out. Any ideas? Thanks -
I am looking for a site which offers good pricing but also stands behind the product. In case of returns or the equipment simply dont work, a site that has a good reputation for price and service. Sure i am looking for a cheap price but if the site has issues with returns or not on the up and up then I'd rather pay the higher rate. Seems that Crutchfields would be the better site unless someone knows other wise.

After reading the board for a while the Z2 will be out soon, but where was the best place to purchase the Z1? Any ideas about where to purchase on line Z2. I am thinking when the Z2 does come out the same site would also offer a good deal like the Z1? Seems like Crutchfields was where most purchases were made from?

Did anyone Tried AVG-VDP1, Vehicle Dynamics Processor
hamilfour replied to hellohello's topic in General
If you're into vehicle performance, the AVIC-Z1 lets you show it. Each AVIC-Z1 is equipped with sensors that can track your vehicle's performance while you're driving. The digital gauges display speed, acceleration G's, lateral G's, slope, angular velocity, battery voltage, and direction - all in real time. The Vehicle Dynamics Display has a peak hold function to quickly see the maximum values recorded. The full-color gauges are available in several different finishes and can be displayed in either day or night time modes. I have not seen comments on this feature. -
