just got the backup camera today. ididn't do it thru cf because it was taking too long. but i called abt and they matched the offer from cf. so it works out either way. any ideas on where to put it? thanks

so i got the free camera from cf and im thinking about putting it in this weekend. from what i heard, some people like the license plate cam better because it is less descrete and does not need to drill an extra hole in your car. i was wondering what is your take on that. can anyone suggest a license cam or recommend one? are they easier to install than the nd-bc2? compared quality? if it is easier and the quality is not much drop then i may just sell the ndbc2 and buy that kind instead. thanks for the info

well even if i bring in the unit, what are the chances that they will still just cut it for me and not fully put it in. probably not gonna happen. even if i did pay for the labor of that.

well how much should i be expecting for an install..i mean..if it does infact cost that much..than..there is not much else i can do, but if it doesn't..that's why i'm so stressed as to whether i should dish out that much money.

SO. as i have stated before. i have been looking for installers in the baltimore md area. i went to auto sound innovations and they gave me a quote of 275. which is great. but that does not include the backup camera that i have. they said that to drill a hole and put that in. it would cost 150. so i'm looking at over 400 bucks. then i went over to sound solutions and he told me that the camera would cost 60. and that it was easy to put in. but because i drive a 99 explorer "it's not technically suppose to support a true double din. so that he would need a full days work on it to custo

maybe i can start helping withthis. i have an avox. yet to be put into my car tho along with the d3. just been playing with it lately. it is quite an impressive unit. i'm using a 120 gig hdd and can put unlimited things on it. i just put anchorman on it last night. just click and drag and walah. you're watchin a video through the rca cables. the only drawback is that you need to use the avox remote to control the unit. it is not integrated thru the touch screen.

still hoping someone can help me out here with the avox but i did get it to work. what i was wondering. are a few things. i tried putting music onto the thing and it worked. however. is there a repeat button? once the songs in the folder end, it just stops. is there a repeat button to keep the music playing? when i open up my pics folder, i still see my music folders. is that supposed to happen? just wondering. it does not categorize them into the tabs on the avox? for the background pics. it said that rename it to "mybg.jpg" i could not get that to work. where did all th

hey guys, i just installed the laptop hd into my avox today and i put in the cd trying to get everything set up. however, when i loaded the cd that said i needed the 98 driver. the install wizard would not complete saying that i am not using win98. i know that a lot of people have bought this thing and i'm pretty sure they are not using win98 either. does anyone know what to do now? i'm completely stuck. i can't even get past step 1. so after everything is loaded, then i go dl the new firmware correct? 1.4.7? is that the latest out? please help me out. i'm pretty stressed as thi

man...sorry guys, i know i have already brought it up once, but i just called two more installers in my area and they both said that they cannot bypass the unit because it is all firmware related. it can not be done manually by grounding and moving the wire into the empty slot. he was like yea i'm apart of avic411 too and it does not work. every one on this site said that it does. so is this guy just retarded or wtf is going on.

i went with abt last night. but it was really a hard decision tho because i really like cf. they are world wide known. and their support is bar none. but who knows when they will get a new shipment. especially with the way that people have been ordering them like hot cakes. i got it for 950 and im planning on getting the warranty as well. not much of a drop off.

damn guys..cf really jerked our chain on this one. i mean it's not their fault, but it did suck when they kept changing their status back and forth because it stopped some of us from jumping to places that actually had them... well i jumped ship...and im getting mine on monday because i opted for ground, not next day....let me know if you guys have better luck. i feel for u guys...

i already ordered the d3 so it don't matter, but is the screen adjustable at all? just wondering because i didn't think about that

anyone know what type of ir extender/receiver i can use for my avox unit? i have no idea whether the ones on ebay are compatible or not. i want something that has as strong as signal as possible so i don't have to aim all the time. t.i.a thanks in advance
