  1. Did you check to see if you have a really good connection where you tied the accelerator/vss wire? I would check there first.
  2. Just wondering how come the power to the unit was "cut" when the car door was opened? Oh...and yes...as VBlue42 so nicely put it...you're screwed
  3. buy a new less costly backup camera and replace the whole thing
  4. Try unplugging the Sirius module (both power and interface cable) and then plug it back in. I had the same problem once at that worked for me.
  5. perhaps the .img extension is not for a CD image but rather a drawing or graphic image software program..ie Autocadd or ? ?
  6. I have had a similar issue. I bought an upgrade 40GB HD c/w the 2009 Z files and pulled out the 30GB HD, which was working fine. I took the 30GB HD and did an upgrade using the 2009 files (torrent download) on a Win 7 PC c/w Acronis 2010. When I installed the 30GB in the Z, I got the "cannot read HD" error message. I fiddled around for along time re-imaging the HD a million ways, but never got it to work again. It did however work just fine in the PC..I use it as a storage drive for all by backup AVIC files now. I recently bought a toshiba mk6026gax 60GB HD. I unlocked it and took off t
  7. Could someone please confirm that when transferring this files back to an SD card that the SD card is to be formatted to Fat32 or Fat? Thanks
  8. Interesting information for anyone who may want to know. I ordered both the tray and the insulator from Pioneer Canada this morning. Tray was $9.23 Can Insulator was $2.63 Can When you check the Pioneer US Parts site prices Tray is $10.95 Usd ($11.50 Can) Insulator is $3.50 Usd ($3.68 Can) I find it very odd that the Can prices are that much lower. Perhaps the US are applying a much higher import duty on parts from Japan than Canada is?
  9. I am looking at buying a spare hard drive tray (the stainless steel thing that screws to the hard drive). Even a part number to order from Pioneer would be helpful. If anyone has one they would like to sell please pm me. Thanks, Harley
  10. I can see where my confusion is...Acronis 2010 vs 10.0. Step 7 in the instructions indicate "Acronis True Image Home 2010" and the pdf shows the screenshots from "Acronis True Image Home 10.0". I just couldn't figure out why those screenshots looked so different from what I was seeing...assuming I was using the same software version that the pdfs were showing...but they weren't. It does look like the 2010 version does not by default allow 0 space before and 0 space after. As well it does not seem to allow you to NOT assign a drive letter...by default. I may search for an older version
  11. Acronis True Image Home 2010 Not sure how much this really matters but... When I follow the pdf instructions for using Acronis 2010 the screenshots are different than what Acronis is allowing me to do. I suspect Garrets screenshots are from a previous version of Acronis. As an example; I cannot get it to make 0 fresspace before... and after...it only allows me to do this before. I do not have the option to NOT assign a drive letter...I can pick AUTO or various letters...but not NO LETTER. Will it work to simply restore all partitions to the drive at one time vs individually? The ins
  12. Many thanks again!! Sure be nice to get more seeders....best I am seeing is DL rates of 20kb/sec
  13. hit the reset button and see what happens.
  14. Is the Z110BT set to "automatic" in the settings?
  15. The only thing to consider is the cost. A Z1/2/3 in good shape with all the options (satellite radio/bluethooth/etc) and an upgraded HD is well worth considering if the price is right. I have a Z2/3 and I have played with a couple of Z110BT's and yes the Z110BT's have some nice stuff and are a bit faster.....but they are more costly. They actually have a few less options in some areas too..ie vehicle diagnostics, changing map views onscreen to name a couple. In my specific case (Canada) it was about $700 more for the Z110BT c/w Sat Radio and iPod cable. Soooo....it depends. The only other
  16. VSS wire location 2007 Ford Sport Trac. Its not in the radio plug..back/grey as there is no black/grey there. Any help would be appreciated
  17. So, I can buy a NEW COMPLETE GEX-P920XM on eBay c/w 2 YEARS of XM Everything Service for $170 plus shipping. Total bill to my door in Canada would be $233.00. The 2yr Canadian package for XM is $329 plus taxes and Royalties....more like $400 when the dust settles. Seems to good to be true. Wonder how a person could protect themselves from getting this on eBay and having it expire after one year or one month or any time before the 2 yrs is up? Any thoughts?
  18. Very noticeably the Canadian prices are ridiculously higher when the dollar is within 5%. Funny thing is when I ordered a new power cable for my Z2 from Pioneer Canada it was considerably less costly than the US Site had it for (not even considering shipping). This applies to the stores like Futureshop...I bet you all the Pioneer stuff is almost double the cost compared to US prices.
  19. Dodge's "MyGig" made by Harmon Kardon apparently is a hard drive based Nav/Multimedia system. Seeing it is HD based I was wondering how it may compare to a Z110BT or possibly more like the Z1/3. Anyone know anything about these?
  20. Asked this question under Vehicle Specific Wiring, but thought it would be better to ask it here. Installing a Z110BT in a 2006 F150. Did some prelim checking of the radio wire harness to confirm final wiring for the adapter harness as some Fords have different wires in different places on the 24 pin radio radio pin out. Rather conveniently the Ford has the VSS pin in the radio harness in this case as Ford uses it to adjust volumn based on speed. I did a quick check with a voltmeter and have found it has 12V on it at idle. Just wondering if that seems normal...to have such high voltage or eve
  21. Hi, Did a search and have been googling this for a couple days. Does anyone happen to know where the wire is to tie into for the reverse for backup camera on a 2006 Ford f150? The radio harness on my truck does not have the B/U wire...some do, not this one. I have read there is a pink/black wire in the door sill, but do not know which side or which door (front or rear) Any help would be appreciated. Also,,,does anyone know if the VSS wire has voltage on it? I have checked the supposed VSS wire on the F150 and it measures 12v while idling. Seems odd that it would have voltage on it to m
  22. It just so happens that the torx screws that hold the printed circuit board to some hard drives (ie some western digital) will work to replace those awful philips screws. In my case the torx screws I used off an old WD HD were actually the same size torx as the 2 screws that hold the HD door closed on the AVIC so one screwdriver does them all. If you happen to bugger the philips ones up and you are in a pinch to find replacements visit any local computer repair shop and see if they have any old HD's laying around and ask for the screws. At the shop I went to the tech actually had a whole cont
