Well, good luck then. DIVX movies are easy to me. Finding the right format, like I said before, also involves the original file. You can't take small, bad video and make it better by increasing resolution, that would probably make it worse too.

The manual will tell you if is DIVX, and no that is not the same as mp4. Mp4 is ipod video, which is good on the ipod video as far as format and resolution. I believe the ipod resolution is around 640 X 380. It has been quite a while since I did the converting for my deck. Getting ready to get back into it, soon as I get more storage space on my computer.

I don't know what to tell you then, cause all my videos I did looked as good as the originals that I downloaded. You can shine a piece of poop, but it is still a piece of poop. I don't know where you got your videos. I have seen some crappy videos that are downloaded at crappy quality. You can't increase it's quality, same with music. You can't take a 128bps file and turn it into a 320 bps file and expect it to sound good or look good.

Yeah, it is really easy. I didn't understand how easy it was before I installed the deck, but then when I went back and read it all it was almost too easy. I even did the bypass with the deck in the car. Well dangling in the car. Just make sure the wires are snug. I accidently loosened the power wire and had to pull the deck out a second time after I did the bypass. But now it works great.

To me the best video playback for quickest load up and best resolution is the DVIX files you can burn on to a DVD-R. If you use DVIX PRO 7 it does all the converting and burning for you. I fit over 40 movies on one disc and there was still room left out of 4.7 Gb. I have tried using the USB and SD card but getting the right resolution is tricky, with the DVD it seems to play widescreen all the time, but it also depends on your original file's resolution.

It really isn't that hard if you use DIVX pro 7, it does everything for u, convert, and burn if you want to burn to disc. Any converting takes time. If I were you, make sure you get the videos file in a really good format or even straight from the original disc. Like I said before, time is your enemy, video editing is a pain. But if you have some patience, it actually is pretty easy to get the video you want. In the instructions for the deck, it says DIVX format, so I think that is the easiest to use instead of playing roulette with all the other codecs that are out there.

If I remember right I used DVD+R, but I think it is more important to use a good DIVX program. Reading the manual on the deck it is good with DIVX movies, so that is why I used DIVX Pro 7 to create my video discs. It does play full screen as long as the original video is the right resolution.

The best video I have found is to use DIVX converter 7.0 and I put them on like a DVD-R disc, quickest load up and you can fit quite a lot of music videos on one disc. I don't remember the amount but with 4 gb of space it does mean over 30 plus videos on there I believe. If you use the DIVX Pro 7 it will convert them and burn them to the disc all in one program very simple to use, and best for batch converts for me. Good Luck.

Sounds great, but how is the sound quality. I haven't tried my new idea yet. But what I have in mind in finding the best original videos I could and I will be converting using Divx Pro 7 which has it's own burn utility to burn to disc, which if you imagine you could probably fit around 30 plus music videos on a DVD in the DIVX format and the audio is great and the video is clean and smooth as long as the original video is good too. Especially since SD cards take so long to load up. The only thing I haven't tried is getting a usb hard drive set up, since I do like using my Ipod more for musi

Give me a day or two to go through the steps, cause I can't remember if DIVX will convert AVi to DIVX format. But I tried several programs to convert AVI to MP4 and several different settings and found some worked and some didn't both on USB and SD card. That is why I looked at the manual for the AVIC, and found that DIVX is the main supported format for the DVD and VCD disks. Like I said it loads it up faster. A few things you have to think about is your play back order. Do you want them alphabetically by song title or by artist? Cause that will play a big part in your converting steps a

Use DIVX and burn with DIVX burner to VCD or Super VCD, plays perfect and widescreen too. Using a cd or dvd, loads fasster and has more playback options with video size. SD, is very tricky and you can't always get full widescreen playback.

As you can tell the infinity is rather large compared to the factory set, but it works. I actually replaced the factory tweeters with some old Infinity Kappa tweeters I saved, and also replaced the rear door speakers with some component 3 way 6 1/2s also Infinity Kappa. I have had the update for about two weeks now. So far it is nice. Still slow when loading the SD card. Other than that things are faster. I haven't tried the USB yet, but I read in the manual that it only supports 2GB SD card and USB. And even though I had an 8GB USB flash drive it worked, but it did take time to load up. I use the Ipod more cause I like the file system setup and the volume levels are much more even that with even my WAV/ lossless files. here is my new SPLASH of a splash screen too.

The format of the movie is what messes with the unit. On the user's guide in the appendix under specifications, it says what formats of media play on the various connections. The USb and the SD card accept mpeg,wma, mp3 and mp4 but are still limited. I have been playing with different converters awhile trying to find the exact format that works from the usb or the SD card, and still having problems. The best bet is the Ipod, or use the DVD and burn DIVX movies.

Check your video format types. SD cards on the f900 and F90 I believe are limited to certain types. Some AVI, and MPEG will play, some MP4 videos will play but resolution is small. That is what I have found so far. Videos to me play better on VCD and DVD using DIVX.

Are you talking about the black bars on the top and the bottom of the video? Those are the widescreen or letterbox format. I think you can't get rid of that if the video was originally filmed that way. If it wasn't filmed that way, then you can have it play back full screen. That is what I have noticed about my DIVX videos I have played on the DVD and the VCD discs. Well, I have been playing with this problem too. I like the resolution on my Ipod, but I don't like how the Ipod resets to music when you turn the car off. So I burned a couple of VCDs, one on a standard CD and one on a DVD using DIVX. Then you can set your DVD screen setting on the deck to play widescreen and the video looks better. Also, doesn't take as long to load as an SD card or a USB drive. And if you did the hardwire mod, it plays video, after you click ok on the screen, yipee. I don't have the FB900 or a special edition, just a standard 09 XB, but I installed the F90BT, which the wiring is basically the same. The hardwire mod is way easy. I was scared at first when I did it. And I actually did it after I installed the deck. Made it kind of a pain but it was easy anyway. Just follow the pictures seen somewhere here on the forum. So, it works, part of the time. I only put a small piece of paper in the bottom, but it still takes some wiggling to make it work. I suppose I test more paper later to get the proper fit, but I do get it to work much more often than before. The only other issue now is to find the right video converter that has a feature to convert and select more than one movie at a time, and converts to the proper size to play the movies full screen on the deck. I tried handbrake it is is way to tedious, personally I think handbrake sucks.

So, I think I figured out something, at least with my flash drive. I just purchased a sandisk cruzer 8gb and have been having issues with my f90bt not recognizing it. But my dell 128 mb one get recognized all the time, even when leaving it plugged in. So a couple of times I wiggled my sandisk one and it would work. Then today I tried not plugging it all the way in and it got recognized right away. I think when you plug it in all the way the connections miss. So I am going to try to insert some kind of small piece of paper in the bottom of the san disk so everytime I plug it in, it only g
