  1. Well I ski, and you would think that this would be a POI that should have been included, after all Ice Skating is listed under SPORTS! I did a search for "Wilmot Ski" brought up nothing, but when I drove to the place, on the bottom status line, low and behold is says "Wilmot Ski Hls"...imagine that... but why the heck isn't this searchable? How come its not in the POIs? Am I looking in the wrong category?? Pioneers should be slapped for hiding it if its there somewhere (Although I looked pretty good for it) and horse whipped if its not there. Skiing is a popular sport! Do I have to use a
  2. I D/Led this twice, and get an "Unexpected end of file error" when I first open the file. After opening I see that there are 8 filesname that are hex strings 32 chars long and do not have CRCs (00000000) or file sizes! There should be included a .TXT which contains the CRC values, filenames, files sizes and mod dates so I can compare for validity. Here is what I have. There is a folder that contains two files > \Utils\cecmd.exe 337,920 (CRC 84058461) and \Utils\AYGSHELL.DLL 22,528 (CRC 0C8BB370) CopyTool.mscr 1,177 (CRC B09906E2) MortScript.exe 80,384 (CRC 1D8DCC9C) NNtestm
  3. Nice clean looking install...What software version or mods do you have? I'm running 2.0 right now.
  4. The F90BT fits OK, the only problem I had was stuffing the TONS of wiring under and behind it. Maybe if you tore more apart, you could get behind/under it and pull more wiring down as someone inserted the radio. I actually removed 3 of the RCA audio jack pairs from one of the connectors just so there is less to cram in. I carefully removed the pins from the connector so they can be reinserted if needed later.there is plenty of free space up above for accessories. I put the HD radio receiver behind the display in question. I mounted the GPS antenna under the trianglular dash piece behind
  5. Oh you didn't mention the radio station info was output to this same display, so yes its bus data, is this the only information this part of the display handles? Is the a separate LCD display module, or is this radio information integrated into a larger display. Such as the mileage display maybe the top line and the radio info the bottom line but essentially on two separate LED/LCD modules...if so you could open the display up and cut the power trace to radio display module to blank it or remove it from its printed circuit mount. There is another way to trick it but it involves engineering
  6. If you need to paint the Metra bezel, Home Depot sells spray paint just for plastics, its tough and comes in many colors. Go to your friendly Kia car dealer, talk to a tech, have him print out the radio and trip computer schematics pages from his station, scan and post them here or PM me, so I can read them clearly, and I should be able to tell you how to bypass it for you. I have gone to various dealer techs a few times for these reasons and have never been disappointed with their cooperation. Usually you have to talk to the service manager first. Its better if you can go in the early

    Mute the Nav Voice

The pBrake and NON-mute wire doesn't have anything to do with why the NaV voice isn't muting the radio when the NAVI is issuing voice commands. If you were to ground the actual mute wire it would mute both NAV and RADIO simultaneously People call this the mute wire, but after the mod is performed, its the Navigational Bypass and grounding the pBrake is the DVD bypass. You are stealing the mute wire simply because it has the special terminal clip on it, it becomes the Navigational bypass, which allows you to make NAV keyboard inputs while the vehicle is in motion. Use the NAV setting
  8. Hey if you got this guys phone number, and it was in the USA, maybe you can track him down and beat him senseless, or report him to HIS local police, depends on how you feel about it. At least give the number to PayPal security. Hopefully he didn't steal the phone from the original seller, otherwise the hope of tracking him down will evaporate. Maybe the thief is already across the border by now. You got scammed because you never received the AVIC?
  9. There are probably some here who would post nonsence in order to led others to believe that Ebay is a terrible place to shop just to direct sales back to retail stores. But, no doubt there are scammers on Ebay, and retail stores have there own sucker game. I have heard some real bullcrap come out of sales peoples mouth, just to sell you equipment. Its always buyer beware no matter where you shop for electronics...cars...almost anything expensive. 1. Make sure your PayPal account has a different password than the email account that receives notifications from PayPal. 2. Make sure your E
  10. Hookup an LED and current limit resistor to the Constant Power wire, and when you return to your car you will see if the wire is still hot before you start your car. But you should put the LED in a location where you can see it from outside your car before you unlock your doors. Did you have a radio before the 900BT and did it loose the station presets? You like the 900BT over the factory GPS?
  11. I have F90BT ver2.0 and also my clock didn't update this past weekend, I haven't got into the AVIC system yet, my first thought was Microsoft had the TZ screwed up like they have been doing in the registry for the past 10 years...several or more TZs always had something wrong with them. Here is the dump for US Central Time zone in the registry for XP which is correct. Zoom out

Have you tried holding down the joystick, rather than pressing it momentarily? No I hadn't tried that before, Thanks, and its much better than single stepping but I find myself easily overshooting the zoom level because of the map display lag. If any hackers are listening, a zoom out button with 10 steps would be a nice feature.
  13. This appears to be tied into the scheme that is running on the unit. Some of mine are black/white stripped and some of them are red.Try some different schemes on the unit and find one that has railroad color that works for you. I have only two color scenes available on my F90BT 2.0v. A blue and a red. Thanks, I'm now using the RED color map selection, which gives me the Blk/Wht stripped railroads. I have not noticed yet if any RRs are red, this would be HIGHLY conflicting in my area since, one of the major roads I travel is now red (Rte34). Do anyone know which file is the scene co

    Zoom out

It would be useful to have a zoom out screen button. Touching the button once would zoom out an equivilent of say 10 downward presses out the joy stick. Its such a pain now having to press the joystick 20 times or more to zoom out 4 lousy miles. Maybe an menu option could be setup to allow the user to program the zoom out level.

    Moving the Cursor

When searching for a POI I might want to locate one miles away, maybe out of state. I dont have a route setup, and want to use the "Around Cursor" option. I would like to be able to type in a city to force the cursor there, instead of swiping the screen until the cursor is moved there which can take some time. Is there any way to do this?
  16. Is there a way to display a different color for railroads? Right now its a light grey and its nearly impossible to see most of the time. I was thinking RED.
  17. Are you sure you are going to like this feature, because it would be no different, than if you shut off your car and locked it. When you come back out of the store and deactivate yoour alarm, your AVIC will have to reboot with or without the car running. If you just want to turn off the radio portion, maybe you want to think about muting it.
  18. According to DEI, the 528T triggers from a pos or neg pulse or a pos /neg change of state. Using this relay had a specific fix, in that using a certain remote start removed the ACC voltage from the AVIC for a few seconds as reported by one AVIC owner. The idea was for the 528T relay to trigger on for 30 seconds or so while the car cranked, bridging the AVIC_CONST_PWR and AVIC_ACC_PWR. When it timed out, presumably the car would have already started. the 528T does not fix the problem of low cranking volts causing the AVIC to lock up during boot as reported by others, for this you need
  19. I mentioned this in a previous post about the diodes specified in the AVIC schematic using the NiCads. They have a forward voltage drop of 1.5v(each diode) as opposed to a diode of the 1N40xx,1N54xx series with only a .7v drop. There are 10 cells (1.2 volts per cell * 10 = 12) in the design, offering 12vdc. Subtract 1.5v from 12v and you get 10.5v, JoeGr said 10.5v powering the AVIC is a problem....so those diodes as specified, should not be used. NiCads are known to be trickier to charge. NiCads can be easily overcharged, shortening their life, thus requiring a 16 hour cutoff timer or

    Mute NAVI only

I called Pioneer last week and complained about the Displayed Info and asked if it was fixed in 3.0, and he told me it had not....I guess I got a hold of a dumb CS guy.

    Mute NAVI only

ayed Info Thanks... I will have to download the CMH Mute, ..... the other thing i would like is to put a background behind the left side of the "Displayed Info" screen so it can read more easily, has anyone done that yet?
  22. My dome light stays on for about 30 seconds even after I start the car (Ford). It works the same for both driver and passenger doors, if you open the door from outside the vehicle(switch in the handle) or if you unlock the car with the remote. My vehicle has the Illuminated Entry Module which powers the dome lights and provides the delay. You would connect this output (pin 4, black/lt blue wire) to the AVIC ACC lead through a 1N4004 diode. The AVIC gets all of its power from the MEMORY lead, the ACC lead only carries 2.6 mA when the AVIC is powered up and playing music. So with this id

    Mute NAVI only

Have F90T ver 2.0 Is there a way to mute just the NAVI voice very quickly??? Example: Driving along listening to the radio, i have a 50 mile route set and the NAVI is issueing commands...I need to take a several mile detour, to run some other errands or stop for lunch, the NAVI comes on and constantly is rerouting me and telling me to turn back. I would like to be able to very quickly mute or suspend the NAVI rerouting, because some important news is coming on the radio and I need to hear it. the NAVI would remain muted, until I manually unpaused/unmuted/resumed the NAVI or shut o
  24. Although its pretty safe filling up diesel with the engine running, out of habit I usually shut off the engine because i go inside to pay, and I can't lock it with the remote with it running....but im thinking more about the battery idea because whenever I go to a drive up window, I have to shut off my vehicle when i order because they cant hear me. Or if I want to pull over into a rest stop or talk on the phone...and switch to ACC the AVIC wont have to reboot. Glow plugs...mine take 30-40 secs in the winter...and sometimes i have to cycle them 2 or 3 times if its cold out like below 10F, th
  25. My f90bt ver 2.0 would do spastic things when the VSS was accidentally disconnected including spinning around when i first got under way. It would have been nice for Pioneer to provide a visual indicator on the display determine whether or not the VSS was functioning properly since it can't be measured by the standard multimeter. As far as alternator whine goes, do you have access to someone with a scope that knows how to use it? Maybe at a nearby college or tech school? To check the power line to see if its clean? or look at grounds for the noise? I have seen an alternator with a
