  1. This has just started happening to me. How do you reload the Blackberry handset software? Is this a download from the Blackberry website?
  2. Seriously? A class action lawsuit because your address is not in the database?
  3. Everything works on the Pearl. Calls all work fine and it can do the full address book transfer.
  4. I am not sure about Preipheral Elec, but I do know that everything you want can be done with the PAC SWI-PS controls.
  5. I woul;d think the main benefit of this (at least for me) would not be the extra HD space for music, but the potential of getting a faster drive. Has anyone been able to quanitfy any performance gains from doing this?
  6. Please include me on the list. Thanks so much!
  7. Same here. I see you are in the Bay Area - so am I. I have not yet had any issues with the maps, and the points of interest are great too. I have been able to find places I was sure would not be in the database. If they had done something about the iPod interface or drastically improved the bluetooth, I'd shell out for the update, but not for just maps.
  8. I think people are confused because of speculative posts that were written BEFORE the update disk actually came out. The prevailing opinion before the disk was released was that the update would prevent all bypass methods (including the two wire bypass) from working. This has turned out not to be the case - much to the relief of all Z1 owners, I would imagine. Just wanted to throw this out there to explain why people may be seeing posts which say both things. Check the dates on the posts and oyu will see the latest ones - the ones where people have actual experience as opposed to gue
  9. For the Z2 bypass? Check the sticky at the top of this forum: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8783 For an upgrade from Z1 to Z2? Not yet available.
  10. I assume you are talking about the warning that shows up when you go into the Maps, right? I hate that as well, but as far as I know there is no fix for it. I am continulally on the lookout on these forums for someone who has figured out how to get rid of them, but no luck so far. I normally keep my Z1 set to the audio seciton so I only get the warning when I need to actually use the maps - which is not that often.
  11. This is very exciting. I have a newer Z1 bypassed with the 2-wire method and have been waiting anxiously to see if I'd be able to upgrade without losing the bypass. So glad to see that it works. Thanks all!
  12. I do indeed have the PAC SWI-PS. It sounds like you think I have a bad unit... I'll try reprogramming it, but if that does not work, should I just go buy another PAC SWI-PS? Thanks!
  13. Hi all, My AVIC-Z1 has the annoying habit of choosing a different audio input when I start up the unit. I have the following inputs available: iPod Internal hard drive database FM AM Siruis Normally, I listen to the iPod. When I shut the car down and then restart however, it switches me over to FM radio. If I am listening to FM radio, it switches me over to AM. It is consistent in what it switches me over to (ie. it is not completely random), but I would like it to stay with the same audio input that I had it on when I shut the car off. Is there a way to do this?
  14. Hi everyone, Ever since I had the Z1 installed, the park distance control on my BMW E46 3 series has not been working. My installer is not sure what might have happened and I thought I would check in with the experts here. The reverse lights on the car are working, and the right side mirror tilts down when I am in reverse, so the car know I am in reverse - it's just the PDC that is not working. I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions on where to start looking for a fix. Thanks!
  15. Thanks so much guys! Guess it's time to pull out the manual
