Restarted the ipod and now everything works fine again. Must have just been a glitch somewhere.

Something simliar happened to me today. On the way to work the unit worked fine, iPod and controls worked. Then when I went out to lunch, it wouldn't recognize my iPod anymore. Keeps saying failed connection, please reconnect, but that doesn't do anything. Not sure what could have happened, but will try to figure it out when I get home.

I think it's greyed out when you're playing something so make sure you aren't using the radio at all.

It's in the audio settings. Bottom left.

Reinstall everything from scratch and maybe update to 3.1 too if you want.

Is there any way to edit the Ipod screen to change one of the tabs? I would like to change the genre tab into a song tab. Every time I want to search for a specific song, I have to click on menu, then go back to the ipod screen, then click on menu again so I can choose the song option where it lists songs in ABC order. It would be great to have it as one of the main tabs. If someone can tell me where it is, I could probably try to figure how to change it myself. Thanks a lot.

When that happened to mine, after it reboots, everything works fine again. I just lose my settings and presets. If it doesn't go away, then you just have to reload everything in test mode. But this hasn't happened since I started using an ipod connected to the unit. Starts up perfectly every time with no hiccups.

Try reinstalling windows and doing an update.

So far for me, it just feels a lot more stable which is great. Before, it used to load up into the Avic software then hang on the loading screen and not detect USB. After a few minutes, it would reboot itself and be ok again. The past few days, that hasn't happened at all. It boots up and completes loading and detects USB everytime.

Before the update, when the unit boots up and it connects to BT, there's a pop up message that says BT has been connected. Now when it connects, there's one small box and a half box next to it and the message is on top of them. I think it's something with the image it uses for the pop up. Also, when I'm on a call, the end and send buttons don't show up anymore. Just 2 empty squares where they're supposed to be. Edit - Nevermind, test mode is working now. Everything seems to be working correctly. Will keep an eye out for anything that seems different. Seems like the phone layout is different somewhere. Not getting Send/End buttons when I'm on a call. Also, when it first boots up and it tells me that BT is connected, instead of one long window that pops up, there's two half sized ones. The text still runs along on both windows though. Something's a little off.

I don't think the touchscreen could be used for a keyboard because there is no way for the Avic to interact with the PC since we're only using it to show video. Sounds like an interesting mod. Time to look for an old laptop.

Got it working. Everything looks good, but is there a way to keep the navi settings button when there is a destination? It changes to mute/unmute button and I'd rather be able to go to navi settings to change voice volume if needed. Maybe on long hold, it could open up settings? Thanks.

I agree, if you are going to go to another phone, the Droid definitely wins in functionality. But I personally don't like the looks or the feel of typing on the keyboard. If you like how the TP is, then maybe the TP2 would make a good upgrade.

This is a long shot, but have you tried flashing to a custom TP rom?

the discovery mode should last for at least a minute. I don't think 10 seconds is enough time for it to find devices

The 2/15 version won't need the fuel consumption fix right? And thanks for a great mod I agree this would be a good addition when you have time.

I would suggest you try to find some other answers. The TP2 is using the Widcomm BT Stack and I think the TP is using the MS Stack. So using our regedits or the bt files might corrupt your phone. Head over to PPC Geeks or XDA and do a search. Good luck.

Have you tried deleting the connection and adding it again. Sometimes it will say there are no numbers to transfer so soft reset the phone and turn off the engine and then start it up again and then transfer.

Try going to AV settings and setting AV1 and AV2 to video. I'm not sure which one it is so try both and one of them should work.
