Z3 Static

I had a real bad static problem and I pulled the unit out and found that the installer had added an extension cable for the antenna. I rerouted the OEM cable from the antenna so it would reach and made sure it was as far away from the other cables on the back of the head unit as I could and that solved the problems. Greg
2. I found that my installer used a short extension for the antenna that allowed the ground of the antenna lead to touch the metal case of the Z1 which was putting all kinds of noise into the radio. I rerouted the antenna wire so it was able to reach and removed the extension and problem solved.
3. What do you connect this wire to?? I have a Mustang GT 2006 and I get terrible am reception. High pitch squeal especially when you go under freeway bridges. Sound doesn't change with engine speed.
4. I have a 2006 Mustang and am is real bad and fm is so so. It seems to be getting worse with time as well. I would like to know about an amplifier as well. Greg
5. I have had similar problems as you reported problem. That bitch gets in her head to go one way and no mater what would not reroute which was about 38 miles shorter. Voice recognition is completely worthless. I can't get it to recognize hardly anything. I wish that they had a training program like other speech programs.
6. I have a 2006 Mustang GT and the Shaker 500 system and I pulled off the plastic face plate and it sits right on top of the Z1 screen and look stock. In the daylight you could figured it out if you spent some time looking but at night it is pretty tought to tell.
7. I have the bluetooth adaptor and when I receive an incomming call the number displayed is the last number I received a call from not the current incoming call. For example I get a call from the office and shortly after my wife calls me and my office number shows as the incomming call not my wifes number. Has anyone else seen this??
8. I did a web search and found this. What do you all think about trying this one out? Greg https://emporium.olympus.com/innards/em ... 145031-410
9. Big problems are blue tooth and transferring phone book. Slow Ipod navigation Sirius interface poor. Would like to record like tivo sat radio. Mic is very bad and echo on bluetooth phone call unacceptable. voice commands very rarely work
10. They moved the Sirius to the first in line then the Ipod adaptor. I didn't see the cables as they switched it around so I can't confirm if the cables were reversed as well. G
11. I installed my today works great. Greg
12. I guess you need to crop pretty close to the faces of people in order to see them well since it is a pretty small area.
13. I want to be able to pause and fast forward from my Sirius sat receiver like I could with my sportster model. Updated maps and POI's Traffic on the Sirius receiver. Navi learning feature is ok but so far not great for me.
14. It took until the third day to work for the Z1 to learn 99% of my route. I can go left or right out of my street and every day it want me to turn right but I turn left and then it recalculates and is pretty good. It will be interesting to see how many times I go left before it figures that out.
15. It is pretty small. I would say about 1/8th of the screen that comes up in the upper right corner. I guess it will be trial and error.
16. This would be great. I hope they get 100 people that really cover the issues that we all have and address them quickly.
17. I ordered one of your flash circuits last night. The installer left a loop of wire down for me to install it.

Toyes!

I use this companys IR emitter for a license plate reading camera. They are great. There is one the goes out about 800ft. Greg http://www.extremecctv.com/products.php ... hichpage=1
19. I never posted a picture before.
20. Here is one I did for mine. I used a picture of my GT.
21. He told me he has the Ipod then Sirius modules in that order. He also thought that the cables are keyed and can't be reversed. I have never seen them so I don't know but I trust the guys here on the Avic forum. Anyway I am bringing the car back to have it checked but the HU needs to be pulled out to get to it. It sure looks and sounds good in my Mustang GT though.
22. Thanks for the replies everyone. The modules I have are the Bluetooth, Ipod and Sirius. I don't know what order they are connected. Is the blue end or the black end supposed to go toward the Z1? BTY the antenna is on the roof right above the rear window. I have a clear view of the sky and no change as I traveled the freeways this morning. When I pull into the garage then it starts saying searching for signal so I think my signal is OK. Before I registered the radio I only had ch 184 and could not hear anything. After registration I am able to tune to all the channels just no sound. Greg
23. I had my Z1 installed this weekend professionally and after I got home and registered my Sirius receiver I don't get any sound. I have sound from everything else including the Ipod adaptor. After the registration I am able to tune to any channel, browse the categories and get the on the air showing I have satellite signal. Looking at the installation diagrams it looks like there is only one cable that attaches to the head unit so I am making an assumption that the cable is attached since the Z1 sees the receiver and I can change channels. I will bring it back to the installers but I can't unti
