I just went and checked, and I've already got that at 10. What about adjustments in testmode that you mentioned earlier? Is the DVD software based off of some version of Windows Media Player? I'd like it even brighter, I find myself sitting upright and resting my arms on the steering wheel in order to be able to see the screen during darker scenes in movies.

I love my Moment w/ 2.1 on it. Now if I can find a way to get my F90BT to be able to stream music over BT from my phone so I could get rid of these cords.

There must be a way to get the software from one of those units and make it work on other stereos. I'd love to be able to either have my F90BT access the internet and stream music on its own, or be able to use my Samsung Moment and have it stream music directly to the stereo itself. What input on the screen of the deck would be used for this anyways?

Bump for more information on this. Are people using internet explorer on their stereos, or is this for information like MSN Direct (which I've never used) for traffic updates, etc. My Samsung Moment has tethering, so I'd love it if my F90BT could stream music directly from the stereo using my phone as the signal. What is needed to make the stereo has internet? I've seen BT dongles on ebay for like .99 shipped.

Thanks for posting this, anything to make this thing maybe work better. Hopefully it speeds up the booting process, I'm still nervous about going with custom upgrades using hacks.

...but it is possible, so yes. Giving blanket "no" statements and making it sound so absolute like that is irresponsible as clearly everything nowadays will require some kind of workaround to make these stereos capable of doing more. Plugging in an extra BT dongle is nothing compared to some of the software hacks people use to gain other things people said no to before...until now.

Why is this so hard for the stereo to figure out. Being a Windows OS on the stereo, why can't it be upgraded to make it read an HDD just like a normal PC? Also, since iPod's seem to work so well and w/o issues, is there a way to put whatever software an iPod has on it to make the HDD emulate the iPod and be able to use it through the USB? I'd love to be able to take my external HDD from my computer, throw it in the glovebox and have it run just like it does on my PC. I've got an F90BT as well, and since this stereo is basically a mini Windows machine, why can't we just load codecs and drivers onto it like a PC and have it run anything we want, avoiding this whole conversion process? I'm using an 8GB SD card and it'll either show the movies fine, sometimes choppy or some w/ no sound. It's getting old having to jump through all the loophole this stereo requires just to play a movie properly.

I don't own an i anything, so I use an 8GB SD card in my F90BT. It works fine, but it seems that the movies need to be converted to the proper resolution or else the pictures get choppy. I would imagine that w/ this stereo being basically a miniature Windows machine that it'd just figure it out, but apparently that's not the case. I've also had an issue where a movie would play fine but wouldn't have the proper coded for sound to play as well. I've got an AVIC F90BT and both a Samsung Moment and Treo 755p (both A2DP capable), so is this something I can use as well on my stereo? I'd like to avoid having to use two seperate cables since Moment uses a 3.5mm jack and the 755p uses a 2.5mm jack. One a side note, I've got the stereo installed in my BMW X5. I've got the steering wheel stereo controls programmed and the R/T switches source between CD/DVD, FM/AM, SD card, but it skips right past Aux 1 or 2. Is there a way to hack/program the stereo so it includes the aux inputs in the inputs rotation?

Where did you find these brightness settings? I'm having issues w/ my seating position, the angle of my deck and the picture becoming too dark sometimes. I wish someone would write code to add changes like this into the menus.

I did like another user here and just created a New Folder, renamed it to "Factory WAV files" once I finally found the keyboard in the bottom right corner of the screen, then moved the 1,2,hi,low and 5 WAV files to my new folder. I did the "Reset Factory Settings" to make sure the Voice Command still works, but I don't remember if she spoke immediately after I pressed the button or not. When I hit the VC button now, the screen comes up, but she doesn't speak until like 10 seconds and asks something like "I didn't understand". This isn't normal, correct...meaning

Can someone post a link on this thread for a newbie (under a week of ownership) about how to get into the screens, etc to remove the key beeps? I had the contant beeps from any button being presses, so I'd love so assistance on how to delete them all. - EDIT: found it after searching for "remove key beep" and followed a thread w/ a nice step by step writeup. I've got two Treos..650 (w/ 700p firmware) and a 755p,and I can't get either phone to pair. I've tried searching around briefly, and never really found a solution. The phone and stereo see each other, but went I enter the 1111 security code in my phone, the deck just says connecting and nothing ever happens. I can get my gf's LG phone to connect in like 3 seconds, transferred her contracts and everything. Hopefully someone finds a fix for it.

I've seen a few links about the update, but I'm confused as to which version is available, and which is the best to use. I've read a few threads today about people having BT issues. I just want the unit to work faster...will upgrading to 3.0 do that? Also, newbie question...where do I get map upgrades since it's not showing everything in Boise?

The buttons on mine work better than expected in my BMW X5. PAC said that the R/T button on the steering wheel wouldn't work, but in fact it's been programmed so that it switched between inputs...much faster than hitting Mode, then having to touch the screen a couple of times just to change inputs. I was wondering though...can I somehow lockout AM from being in the rotation? I'd like it to go like DVD, Nav, FM, SD, iPod and completely skip over AM.
