  1. I was nervous about upgrading also, I read a post some time back and it said to do it, boy am I glad I did! I am wondering about 130 also? I guess we will have to wait and see...
  2. I have had 3 different ipods hooked up all the time with no problems, the latest is an old 3g phone used as an ipod and it is fine. Every once in a while I have had to hard reboot the ipod but few and far between.
  3. I did not install mine, but it is a PAC in a 2008 escalade (with onstar & bose) and it works great.
  4. I have a by pass and did the update, no problem! By pass still works fine... The hardware on both the 110 and 120 are the same, the update is a firmware update that basically turns the 110 into the 120. I was leery at first, but it is well worth doing!!
  5. Pretty sure you just touch the red&white arrow (in expanded search) in left corner to change to the "heading up" view, might also have to do with 2d or 3d and how you have map set for detail (I use 3d at a closeup setting and it is always heading up). Check the owners manual there is one on pioneers site: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Navigation/AVIC-Z120BT_OperationManual110910.pdf
  6. Thank you for proving my point for me.
  7. Pardon my ignorance; I wasn’t aware that you needed to be an electrician or an installer to be on this forum. Obviously, I do not know much about these things (which is why I posted the question in the first place); I wasn’t sure if a “splitter†like used for headphones would work going the opposite direction. I believe you answered that question for me, thank you. Furthermore, I am quite certain there are many subjects that I know more about than you (common courtesy as an example), but I would not post such rude responses to someone looking for assistance.
  8. I know we have all talked about this, but I was wondering if anyone with a GM product has tried using the Onstar microphone?? More specifically "splicing" into it and using it for both onstar and avic? I did a search and did not see any posts about it being done like this.
  9. Awesome, Thank you!!!! Much better!
  10. Does it still show the song and controls on the HU screen?
  11. Probably the same thing Google did, they are using it for voice recognition engine. I hope not, but I would assume that is the case, at least it will buy us some time.
  12. Not sure if this is the same issue, but it depends on what "zoom" level you have it set on, also I saw someone post that when in 3d view sometimes the streets don't show up and when the touch the screen (it goes to 2d) then mode button to bring back to 3d the names are there. Hope this helps
  13. Yes I was speaking of nano and iphone.
  14. Yes, I have had both and the 120 is way better than 110 (I was afraid I wouldn't like it but I do) I use an old 2nd gen nano for my music and it works perfectly, I use an iphone when I want to have video, Both the 3g and 4 have worked fine. I use Pandora with iphone (you can stream it BT or better yet use the ap and you can control it on screen)
  15. Sounds interesting, I will look into that. Thanks
  16. I have an 08 Escalade and have the 110/120, the installer put PAC in and I love it, It works with my factory steering wheel controls. I have VR on 1 button (same button if I hold it down works the onstar) volume up and down, track up and down, and source. He told me he could program the buttons any way I wanted with it, he thought the on hook and off hook buttons could be programmed but I did not have a spot for them and it worked out better this way for me. I have been beyond happy with this setup! Just push the VR button and say "call...." works like a charm.
  17. I have no idea if it will work, but since the BT module is Parrot, I would recommend one from them instead. I think there are some threads on this.
  18. Sorry, wrong use of terms....You are correct, it is the quick access menu that I was referring to, and I think it only allows you to have 5 or 6 at a time? so you have to remove one before adding one.
  19. You can add this to your nav shortcuts it is a 2 button deal, you push the shortcut button on nav and then push the day/night button. I use it all the time.
  20. There are several posts on this if you search them you will find more info (cable # etc---CD-IU50V?) YES you can play ipod/iphone video, it takes a single pioneer cable that hooks to the bottom of phone just like a charge sync cord. But there are a lot of them out there that do only audio, buy the correct one! DON'T try to save a buck on a cheap ebay cable.
  21. There is no way to shut the system off without shutting down the vehicle, the off button just shuts the screen off. I do not know why Pioneer designed it this way?
  22. NOOOOOO say it aint so!!! I love this damn feature.
