  1. Does your BT work? If it does, then you probably are OK. However, if you want to "refresh" it. get SD2 from the v2.0 update (Torrent). It is a small file with Parrot 3.11 only. I know some have warned against just installing 3.11 without 3.10, but it worked fine for me. It worked even on the old Z110 software - without installing SD1. So it should work for you.
  2. How are you verifying this. It doesn't show up on the System Info page. You have to go to Bluetooth Settings, Firmware Update. It will then display the current BT version. There's no way that v2.003 deleted it.
  3. You might have better luck in the X Series forum. But here is the X710 installation manual. See for yourself.X710 Installation A quick look says that the harness should have the Violet/White reverse wire. It does not use the pink VS wire, so it might not be present in the harness.
  4. I was using the Z110 manual. On the Z120, and maybe the 110 too, you press and hold the hard button < or >. I think they changed all the players' interfaces on Z120. Even with this, it will be a pain to FF a few hours into a file. Have fun...
  5. If you don't have the bypass correctly installed, I think you'd know by now. Without it many functions are grayed out unless the BP is set. I guess I should of started with a couple more obvious questions. 1. Can you play MP3s and see cover art? 2. Do you have compatible Videos on you iPod (sorry, had to ask). Can you play them through the iPod?
  6. You didn't say whether the MP3's were on CD, SD, iPod, or USB. But I think this works for all. Press and hold Fast Forward (>>) or rewind (<<) soft key - not the hard buttons < or >.
  7. If you haven't installed the bypass, your Parking Brake must be set to play any video source.
  8. Here are some things to consider. Did you install it or was it "professionally" installed? Was VSS connected, and Reverse? Are the red and yellow power leads correctly connected. If not, the unit will loose it's location each time it is turned off. In the NAVI Settings screen, What is your GPS status and the color of your GPS ANT indicator? What do you mean by recalibration? Is Speed Pulse turned on? What is the learning status of your NAV? How often do you drive this vehicle? The unit has internal motion sensors that can detect direction/turns even before the GPS signal gets
  9. 1.002 is ShortFuse's 'unauthorzed' patch to allow bootleg v2.xxx updates (bypasses validation of unique key from Pioneer). 1.001 is the right update for you. So you followed Pioneer's instructions (below) on you got 1001.00? that's odd. Check the version number of your current software by completing the following steps:  Press the “HOME†key  Select the “Settings†tab  Select “System Settings† Select “Service Information† Press & hold left upper corner of the “Service Information†screen for a few seconds If the “Application Version†show
  10. You updated which, the iPhone or the Z110? If the Z110, which update? 1.001,1.002, 2.000, 2.003? And where are you getting the version. The instructions tell you how to view the effective version.
  11. Nope, no turning back. The 1.001 update was just a patch release, and even if it wasn't I doubt that the AVIC firmware would allow you to install a version older than the current one. So, you're stuck with 2.xxx. Maybe you could sell yours and buy a Z110. What volume source(s) are you saying is too low? You can adjust the sources individually in Audio Settings menu, SLA. Some of your customized settings may have been reset during the upgrade.
  12. The fuse blew for a reason, and now it sounds like something in your unit is toast. There's a 10A fuse on the back of the AVIC, maybe that saved you. Did you install any inline fuses in either the red or yellow power leads? If so, check them. I hope it's a fuse, cause otherwise it is going back to the shop.
  13. Do you ever get any audio or video images from the iPhone via the cable? You do have the mini plug connected from the iPod interface cable to the jack on the AVIC's usb dongle, right?
  14. I haven't played MP3s from CD in a long while, but I think it should remember and continue from the last track. I know it does for SD MP3's. Are you changing the audio source in between? That might make it start over at the beginning. Sounds like it is being reset when you turn the unit off. Is the clock correct when you turn on the ignition again? Are your radio presets remembered? If not, it might be because both power lines are being switched off with the ignition. The yellow wire must be hot always to retain the AVIC's memory.
  15. The Z120-BT and X920-BT are not hard-drive based, and I don't think the Z3 is either. What do you need the HD for? On these units, the maps, OS, and applications are stored in non-volatile NAND (4GB). You can store media files on either/or an SD card or a USB jump drive (not HD). I use the ipod interface for my songs and videos most of the time. I really dont think you want a hard-drive based system. They are not that good in a moving vehicle and are subject to head crashes. Solid State is the way to go.
  16. You posted the same thing in another thread. here
  17. Maybe its because the same question has been asked and answered so many times. You expect a different answer? How can anyone here know what you are doing wrong with so little info? Unfortunately, many of those posters never follow up with what fixed it for them. So, other than repeating the exact same advice, my response is go back and try again. Read the instructions and make sure you understand every step. Either you have missed something, or you have a hardware problem.
  18. Yup. Turn off logging in the Navi settings. If you are interested in seeing the logs (and everywhere you've been in the last few years) insert the SD into your PC and run AVIC FEEDS (download from Pioneer if necessary).
  19. Just a guess....pg 143 of z110 manual, "Change Control Mode" needs to be set to Navi for normal iPod functionality. If you are playing iPod apps, set it to iPod. And, AV Source should be iPod.
  20. First, you did download all 4 parts, right? You only need to unrar the 1st part, they are all linked within the archives, so if you used WinRAR, it will extract all the files into a single folder. Just to be sure that you have all the files on the SD, insert it in a PC and check Properties. What is the used size of the SD? It should be 3.6 GB. Try again, maybe with a different SD.
  21. Download the manual from the Pioneer site. Manual You will want it. And it is much easier to search as a PDF file than with a hard copy. What you want is on pg 163.
  22. I hope it wouldn't be considered rude to point out that it is on pg 163 of the manual. There are some Porsche screens that look classy in the home forum under Custom Backrounds. That is the screen you mean, right?
  23. I am not an electrician or an installer and I was not being rude. Maybe a little flippant . You need to lighthen up dude. But if I go posting questions like "which side does the fork go on" on the Miss Manners board, you go ahead and chide me. OK?
  24. Sounds like the AVIC was reset due to the battery being removed. That explains the beeps. It is annoying. The only way to turn it off is through the settings menu. But your big problem is with the bypass. It is fairly simple, read the instructions on this forum. It sounds like the bypass wire (probably the mute) is no longer grounded. Might of happened when the motor was removed/replaced. The AVIC's ground is the black wire. Your installer probably followed the bypass instructions by moving the yellow/black mute wire over one pin, and grounding it. Some people just ground both the system groun
  25. I ended up running the AVIC wire back to my tail light housing. Although there may have been a closer place to tap, it would have been a pain to find buried in some wiring harness under the dash, and the back of the taillight was a sure thing. Just make sure it isn't the brake light or turn-signal.
