I am certain that the error is when the script is executing the command: COPY USER\SYSTEM\SECURITY\PASSWORD.DAT SD\PASSWORD.DAT That means it can't write to SD. There is the only one COPY command in the script. If you want, you can edit ScriptExec.ini and remove that line. In that case, you will not have a backup of the old password file, but that should not hurt.

Great. Which model? I guess it shouldn't matter as long as it is compatible with v7 (2017) firmware. But it is nice to know the proven successes.

It is easily reversible if it doesn't work.

Or you could of searched around here for a few minutes and got it for free. Security Password Removal Script for Z110/120/130/140, x920/930/940 & some older F series

What version map software are you running? You don't want the original (Z140) BT firmware. If you can't install the update you won't be able to re-install the original. Best to figure out the problem. You need to run the version that goes with your current applications. You never said exactly what the problem was installing the update. What happens if you try again? Try a different SD? Reformat (full not quick) FAT32. Don't use a huge sd - less than 16 GB. BTW, all you need on the SD is the FIRMWARE folder & contents. If you don't have the parking brake by-passed, set your parking brake,

Yeah, that sucks. I guess going forward we'll have to use links to referenced posts. I think this is what #151 refers to http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32929-x930bt-password-recovery-obsolete/&do=findComment&comment=280379

Thanks. I thought about doing something like that but I didn't want to deal with figuring out (in the script) which PRG directory to update. Now, I realize it doesn't matter - just do both. The non-active directory NAVI.EXE will never be run again. And next update (2018?) will overwrite it anyway. Brilliant. BTW, I added a warning so some fool doesn't brick his unit with an incompatible program.

New Release F20BT F30BT F40Bt F920BT F930BT F840BT Etc 2017 Releastechnologye
RonS replied to godzilla's topic in Hacks/Mods
First install shortfuse (read the 1st post in that thread). Then you can reformat and use the SD for installing the maps. Do not try to do both at the same time. Do not have any files on the map SD except the files extracted for the 2017 zip. Do not modify any of those files except if you need to replace CARDINFO,CIF. If you don't know what I'm referring to, read the thread. -

If you are using the files provided by godzilla, yes. you must install the shortfuse hack. Then enter PASSWORDPASSWORD when asked for the Pioneer code. -

I don't know what the problem is. I just downloaded the file and unzipped it with no errors. The files NDATA.001 and NDATA.002 are there. You seem to be the only person to be having this problem. -

There is nothing wrong with the zip file posted by godzilla. So the files you posted are not necessary. I suspect you used an incorrect password when you unzipped the files. -
The map upgrade installs the latest firmware (v7.0).

No need to upload anything. Yes, you'll need to do some reading and put more effort in to using the files here. There is a thread started by user godzilla that has everything you need.

I hate to see bootleggers make a profit selling pirated software. You can get the same maps free just looking around here. Or you can give them your money and hope for the best.

I don't know. I assume it would work with any SD with the FIRMWARE folder in root. -

Reading your other post, it seems you were saying your BT was not functional even before installing the new maps/BT. These BT modules have been known to fail. I remember seeing some for sale recently but I don't remember where. You can do a Forced Program Write of the BT firmware. I suspect the actual drivers are stored in some other file system not directly accessible via Testmode file maintenance. See if you can find a Service Manual for your unit. I have one for a Z110 which also is a manual for TestMode. There are several diagnostics for testing the BT module. Here's the Z110-BT Servi -
2017 v7 US/Can Update available for Z110/120/130/140,X920/930/940
RonS replied to RonS's topic in Hacks/Mods
Two most likely guesses: 1. You don't actually have a X930bt. What does it say on the face? Loading 2015 maps doesn't change that model number. 2. Something is wrong with your SD. What files/folders are in root? What size is the SD? Is it FAT32? -

You don't need testmode. The BT firmware for this release is on the SD in the \Firmware directory. You didn't give any detail on what you did and what went wrong doing the BT update through BT settings. -

I honestly don't know what is needed for Lightning support. I'd suggest following Pioneer's upgrade instructions - upgrading a Z130 from the original firmware to 7.0. Don't forget to update BT drivers. -

Works fine for me. Windows 10. When I click "Download Anyway" it starts D/Ling to my Downloads folder and displays the progress in the bottom left of my screen. The whole thing takes < 5 min on my 100Mb connection. Done by the time I write this message. -
Your Z110 is, and always will be, a Z110. It is in the hardware. Using the link above you can find out how to upgrade the firmware to the current versions (v7 and BT v3.32) and maps to 2017 versions.

I have no affiliation with Pioneer so I wouldn't know. I'm sure it is in their documentation or on their web site.

So, that eliminates software and installation issues. The only thing left is hardware. Some component regarding the FM tuner is failing - possibly due to heat sensitivity. Seems the only resolution is the have it repaired.
