  1. I used to have a 16gig iPod Touch 1G, and it would take about 35-40 minutes to complete the update the cataloging. When I upgraded to a 32gig iPhone 4s, cataloging now takes about 2-3 minutes tops. With said, I think the newer hardware has a major affect on VR cataloging speeds. If you can, try a newer device and see what happens.
  2. I have a Z110, and it has the same image as it did when I bought it 2+ years, and 80,000 miles ago. Is the screen scratched or worn? Have you tried adjusting the contrast/brightness/color/dimming for the screen? If not, you can make custom adjustments to each source. Even the daytime/night-time settings for the navigation screen can be adjusted. I dont remember which button you hold down to bring up the menu, but hold down either the "HOME" or "MODE" button. I hope this helps.
  3. I'm not sure if you noticed this particular glitch with the sorting of the files within a folder: The folders will follow the alphabetic ordering as expected, but the files within a folder are sorted according to the "Date Added". This means if you copy over an entire folder, the order will follow the listing structure it has on the PC (which is typically alphabetical). And when you add more files at a later date, they will be added to the END of the file list on the headunit. In order to re-structure the folder, you have to move the files out of the folder, sort them as you wish, "SELE
  4. Yes, Netflix supports TV-Out, and works pretty well with my Verizon iPhone 4S. Unfortunately, the iPhone screen stays lit with the Netflix logo & controls on the screen. Maybe this is something I can tweak in the phone's settings but I havent got around to messing with it. There are times when the iPhone screen goes black and its unresponsive. Simply disconnecting, and re-connecting the interface cable will rectify the problem.
  5. Wrong forum!!!! Try asking in the Problems/Troubleshooting section found HERE
  6. Here's an idea . . . . . I recently custom-fitted an over-the-air DTV converter box along with an amplified antenna. Its all STEALTH too, meaning you wont know its in there until I pull out the remote and start changing channels like I'm on the couch. DTV is great, but it doesnt work when the car is in motion (US technology limitation). The picture is crystal clear when stationary. I now have a PERFECT excuse to wait in the car when the misses drags me along to go shopping. I'm putting together some photos/videos of my install to post on this forum.
  7. Well, after playing with the settings of my head unit, I decided to reset to factory defaults. Sure enough, the "-----" went away, and I now have the same characters as ghost911. I had to re-configure my settings, but I at least solved this mystery. Am I satisfied? Not fully. I'm now worried about the format of the CAN version number; what the heck does it mean? It looks like some type of hex code.
  8. I have a Z110 -->Z120-->Z130 (hacked versions), and when I check the system info for the headunit, there are dashes where the "CAN Version" should be. When I installed the latest Z130 firmware upgrade, I did have the MSN tuner installed. Are you telling me I have to re-install my Z130 firmware to get rid of the "-----" in the "CAN Version" entry? If so, how do I go about doing that? What are the steps in re-installing the Z130 firmware upgrade? Update 12/28/2011 Nevermind, I did a factory reset on the HU, and the dashes went away.
  9. I have a Z110 updated to Z130 but I had my MSN tuner at the time of upgrading to the Z130 (hacked version). Since I installed the TMC tuner my "CAN Version" has dashes. My radio reception is now crap, but this happened BEFORE I did the Z130 upgrade. When you replace your Traffic Tuner, please tell us what "CAN Version" is listed in your information status screen. Mine is showing up as "-----"
  10. I noticed that your "CAN Version" has characters listed in your status screen. For some reason, my "CAN Version" has "-----" I have a Z110 that was upgraded to a Z120, and now to a Z130. I'm not sure what this means but if you have any idea, please let me know.
  11. Here is the link to my SD video transferring method for YouTube http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/30022-converting-video-files-for-playback/
  12. Putting DIVX, or AVI files on DVD is more ideal. It is definitely the easiest method to run video. You just have to sacrifice a DVD. MP4 files don't work all that well with this method. Running videos from the SD card is a little more difficult; some AVI files will work, but this method is more ideal for MP4s. I run a lot of music videos using the steps I provided in another thread (do a search on my username). Using an iPod to run video is okay but the audio will take a slight hit in the quality department (assuming your videos are from YouTube).
  13. I dread the day this happens to me..... Sorry for your loss. Did you let your insurance company know you had the radio installed before it was stolen? Is this why they covred for damages?
  14. This is your driving log warning. Either dump the files to your PC For driving analysis, or turn off driving log in the settings.
  15. I'm no longer convinced the BT noise over phone calls can be fixed thru a software update. I have a BB Tour for ages, so I haven't tried any other phone to test other options. I'm hoping the iPhone 5 doesn't have this issue since it will be my next phone. FYI, the noise over BT phone calls almost goes away when you hold the "HOME" button and turn the screen off. This tells me there is interference pickup from the head unit over BT. FYI, the noise over BT phone calls disappears when you mute the phone call from the phone itself (NOT THE HEADUNIT).
  16. I thought if you hold down the "voice" button, the radio is SUPPOSED to mute? I suggest you TAP the "voice" button, and see what happens.
  17. I successfull installed "SD1" but I'm having trouble installing "SD2". Its not recognized by my system. I tried two different SD cards (even re-using the first SD1 card). Does anyone know what could be going on? EDIT: Nevermind, I found my answer. The "SD2" card has the Bluetooth update and needs to be done thru the Bluetooth settings. (DUH!!!)
  18. All the peers have dried up, and the seeders followed. I'm not sure if everyone knows this torrent exist. Maybe there should be a new thread about it's availability.
  19. With the headlights on, my NAV is in DAY mode; the map sky is light blue with clouds, and the map has all bright colors. With the headlights off, my NAV is in NIGHT mode; the map sky is dark blue with stars, and the map has all dark colors. This helps with the screen not being too dark during the day, and not bright at night. You can aslo adjust the brightness/contrast/color for each mode by holding MODE key and adjusting the sliders. Is this what you were speaking of? If it is, then you may have mis-wired your system; my AVIC-Z110BT (updated to a Z120) can do just this.
  20. Has anyone noticed if the BT-call quality improved?
  21. For those not understanding the difference, can you define those steps and for what firmware?
  22. I ask that everyone please post the results of your install. If there is an issue with the files, I'm sure we would all like to know about it.
  23. I searched around an noticed the ND-TMC10 prices have gone up since June. Other than what Ebay has, the cheapest I've seen is HERE for $82.99 and free shipping. I dont trust Ebay that much, but SonicElectronix is pretty good. I just ordered my ND-TMC10 device so I wont be doing the upgrade until I receive it. I dont want to lose my live traffic.
