1. OK so my z130bt install is done and im almost completely satisfied. I would just like to have the unit power on when I remote start my truck. Its a 2010 avalanche ltz. When I remote startnothing really comes on that i noticed. Any ideas what wire i can use for acc power and where i can find it? Does anyone else have a ubit that starts with remote start?
2. Ok today is a new day. New bypass method works perfect! Fixed the back up cam issue. Removed some plastic from behind radio and now everything fits nice and tidy. The unit sits nice and flush the screen opens and closes with no rubbing! I'll put up some pics later. I'm just so glad it's done. Oh and also with my 2010 avalanche and the PAC os-4 I didn't have to use the weird sounding replacement chime module. My stock chimes still function. I still have onstar and I can still use the factory Bluetooth to make calls I I want to. I still have control of the factory xm tuner however my subscriptio
3. Well as things usually go... ok so i figured out that the pac-os4 actually does supply a video feed to the back up cam!!! you just have to move some pins, pretty easy stuff. New problems now are while trying to cram everything into the opening i must have messed up my bypass cause now i cant watch videos nor use the greyed out functions that i could earlier. And to boot the unit is still not in the dash far enough.. guess its cuttin time tomorrow. Also i figured out why i couldnt watch pandora.. i have an iphone 3gs i can twatch you tube but not pandora
4. Well it worked fine. Everything went smoothly except for the UPS guy(the girl was off ) was late. also it took me a while to figure out how to program the pac swi ps. everything is great with 2 issues. my back up camera isnt working as of yet. I assume ill have to tap into a feed somewhere and splice in an rca. if anyone knows ho please share. secondly i cant play video from my iphone like netflix. not sure what gives yet.
5. Ok so I have a 2010 Avalanche with onstar and bose. I wanted to keep onstar so the regular yellow wire was not a good option for me. So I scoured every closet and junk drawer I have looking for various wires ad molex connectors. I was close with a connector from an old computer harness but no cigar. Not wanting to force anything, i gave up. Then i stripped the wire and fed the raw/exposed end of the wire through the back of the av connector to see if it would fit through the opening. IT DID. So I took it out and carefully fed the raw end of the wire into the connector the same way you would
6. hello I just bought a 2008 avalanche with bose but no nav. I used to have the avic z1 in my silverado but i didnt have bose. What id like to know is what parts do i need to get the z120bt installed and keep bose and steering wheel controls. Thanks a ton
7.

Yeah saw that but also read that some of our trucks had the VSS wire in the OEM radio harness. Was wondering if you were able to use that. I'll do a little more research on this one.
If you have vss behind the radio then you can use that. If your stock radio has/had speed controlled volume then there will be a vss wire in the radio harness.
lol see i didnt even know that. i could have done that... but then i did my pretty quick so maybe that was common knowledge then, thats my story and im sticking to it. :)
8.
Where did you hookup the VSS wire?
if you do a search on here your sure to find it. its on the harness behind the instrament panel its easy to get to.
9. i thought my z1 was messed up once like that.. as it turned out, my sensor on my truck had fallen into the dash.. lol.. i didnt even notice. i just noticed that ,my z1 was always in night mode.
10. i live in baltimore and nearly all of our stations use ut for every song all day long. i really miss having it
11. ditto what ducati said, and id say $130 bucks for the install is a steal if you cant do it yourself. I prefer to do this sort of thing myself but thats just me. i woudl think you probobly could do it yourself with enough time. but you may have more time than money or more money than time. who knows
12. well thats interesting. If your antenna has always been sideways and you used to have the reverse wire hookep up, maybe when you drive in reverse the z1 corrects its position. So then it know which way is backwards..
13. i had another idea today, maybe your antenna is just sideways. If it thinks ahead is to the right, the when you go forward it may be thinking your going sideways. anyway thats one more thing to check.
14. you can do bread crumbs but its kinda all or nothin.... you can leave them on all the time, which in my opinion woudl clutter up your screen, or you can leave them on for just one trip, ie. you plata course and it will leave them on till you get there, then they go away not very good if you wanna get home from somewhere lol.. but i guess you could leave them on all the time to get where you are going and then when you get home or at least back the the states you could then erase them.
15. Ok i couldnt find the exact thing i was looking for but i found this on pioneers website NOTE: When using the DEQ-P8000 with the AVIC-Z1 you will loose the Voice Guidance. You will need to order and install the CD-TS37GP Voice Guidance Speaker. I remember reading somewhere else that this is because the rca's were used. This kinda makes sence but not too much. The voice we hear is generated and amplified inside the unit. the rca are pre power so they dont get a boost .. i dunno now im rambling.. i need coffee... but the voice guidance speaker isnt that much $$, Hell it may even fix so
16. that might not fix your problem. You may just have a loose connection. I ran my z1 with the speed pulse hooked up and no reverse hooked up for about 2-3 weeks and i never had a problem. The reverse is only used so it knows when to switch to the camera view. The vss wire will definatley need to be hooked up to use the vehicle dynamics though. I hope you get it fixed, its a bummer that a shop messed up like that but everyone makes mistakes.
17. yes it will burn a cd you made. You just have to burn it in audio cd format. so you can only put like around 20 songs at a time. but thats fine for me because i like to keep them on there just like they cam crom a real "store bought" cd anyway go buy the z1 there grrreeeat! lol
18. ok you say you installed a new amp and front speakers. If you are using the rca pre-amp outputs you will have a slight problem. When you use the rcas, you need to use the ad on guidance speaker. I read that somewhere, I dont know this first hand but it makes sence to me. Someone was having troubles after installing something else and that was the answer. but if your not using the pre outs and your still using the regular speaker wires.. ignore everything i have said! lol
19. ya know i just thought about something else ducati, even if every version of the future models of z1s dont need the bypass you made, there are still tons of units out there that your bypass works for. And in time people will sell there unit to other people but forget the bypass or people will by a unit used at a pawn shop or whatever. The second hand market will be a big boom agian for you.
20. on my other post aftermarket rear view camera install with pics it has the info on the camera. some people wanted to see night pics too, you can only put 10 pics per post so i made another one,
21. hey macvalanche, I dont have the avalanche but i have the silverado. I was thinking og getting this tuner also. I was curious about mounting the antenna under my soft tonneau cover, like just on top of or directly inside the bed rails. Maybe you could do that too. I thought about mounting my gps antenna there if i didnt get good signal under my dash but its great where it is.
22. i noticed that on some days my location seems to be a few feet off. And on some days its dead on. Also you can use the "modify your current position" and that will bring you to dead on accuracy. I do that sometomes if its a few feet of, or if im going somewhere i really dont know the area well. Ill set my curent position farther ahead of where i really am, that way i get a more advanced notice of the turn and the street name. But normally i like to see the road go by right as the arrow on the screen just starts to go by. Its really cool when your on the 3d map. Its like "it knows" lol
23. Ok so i finally got around to taking some pics at differnt times of the day. Again please remember that the pics never look as good as the screen does in person but here ya go.
24. i had a similar problem when i first installed my unit. i had to drive around for a while like a day, then i could use all the gauges
