  1. Holy ****, look what a search for "sharkfin" turned up: Use factory sharkfin antenna
  2. Try was CMIYK suggested, otherwise you're looking at hardware modifications to reduce the voltage the LEDs are seeing.
  3. Man, why did this William guy have to ruin this thread? saj3n, let me know if you want me to delete all of the off-topic posts, or if I should just leave it alone.
  4. So really we need someone to take the time to go through line-by-line and apply comments to each setting regarding the functionality and whether or not it applies to the F-Series. Maybe we can all just start biting off small pieces as we make other mods, and post them to this thread? I'll compile a complete list if we get enough useful information.
  5. The Connects2 harness he ordered is much better than that PAC crap.
  6. Why is this in the D-Series forum? And if you already have another installation related thread, why did you start another one?

Okay, I'm moving this to the correct forum please pay attention to where you are posting next time.
  8. Many of those settings won't apply to the F-Series, but it's still worth trying (I can't remember if anyone has tested it before). Let us know what you find.
  9. Nice, but can you post bigger images next time? Just kidding, and it looks great.
  10. Welcome to the site! When you explore the newly compacted file does it have the same file structure as the original Images.res?
  11. I probably wouldn't recommend that for long term use. Map updates come fairly infrequently, and SD cards fail a lot, especially when they're being read or written to constantly. Read the FAQ.
  12. Totally, I wish I had the ability to actually make code changes, and not just moderate threads...
  13. Can you try asking your question again with proper grammar and punctuation? I have no idea what you attempted to convey.
  14. It totally depends on how the factory stereo is setup. Manufacturers do weird things, so unless you're intimately familiar with the Saab stereo, you're not going to know. That's why you're going to a high-end car audio shop that will hopefully have experience with your car make and model.
  15. Tough to say what happened. It could be a corrupt phone database file (which you can delete by entering test mode). If you're not comfortable with that, then send it back to Pioneer. The more units they get back, the more likely they are to admit there are problems, and hopefully work on a solution.
  16. Is there any reason I shouldn't just point the EverythingAuto to the FAQ (linked in my sig) and just delete this thread?
  17. I'm not that familiar with Saab's audio systems, so hopefully one of the installers on this site will see your thread. Realistically though, you don't actually have 9 separate channels of audio in your car. OEM manufacturers usually count a passively networked midbass and tweeter as two separate speakers, even though they are powered from one channel of amplification. I would guess that you have components up front, coaxials in the rear, a center channel in the dash and two "subs" in the back. If Saab uses an external amplifier you can just hook the F-Series up to it and you'll be se
  18. Sorry, 5120 is what I meant to say. Bypassing a Kenwood is even easier than the F-Series.
  19. Parrot uses a standard ISO plug interface, unfortunately most vehicles sold in America do not use those plugs. QuickConnectProducts has a harness for you.
  20. Crutchfield's filter is terribly in accurate when it comes to double DIN units. If the dash doesn't use ISO/DIN mounts (most german and US vehicles) they say it won't fit, even though there is plenty of room. It's because they're gearing that service towards the DIY crowd that wants to be able to remove their factory unit and put the aftermarket one straight in.
  21. Use a non-abrasive, non-caustic cleaner to lightly dampen applied to a 100% or microfiber towel. The only thing that will do damage is an abrasive cleaner or towel that will scratch the surface, a caustic cleaner that will discolor, or too much moisture which will damage the electronics. I typically use water, which is plenty to remove fingerprints and oils from the screen.
  22. This certainly is a support forum, but it's not a help you do more damage to your personal property because you don't know the basics of 12v installation forum. What exactly about grounding the parking brake lead don't you understand? What do you mean everything "appears" to be connected correctly? Either it is, or it isn't connected right. You tried to do the bypass, did you actually do it, or not? The white connector doesn't need to be plugged in if you're not using an iPod or connecting any external amplifiers. Many installers (rightly so) won't use that connector if it's not
  23. Both will work, the 5140 will work better more of the time, and has MUCH better navigation.
