  1. I found a solution, and it's so simple. I removed all apps from the recent used list, and powered off the phone. Hold the power button until the swipe to shutoff appears, then wait a minute. Hit the power button again. After that, it worked like normal, at least for my drive this morning. I have to remember to reboot the iPhone after updates, this is not the first time I have had issues after an update that were solved with a reboot.
  2. Yep, me too. And then I can't switch to the iPhone music without doing so from the phone. I have also lost pause, it says paused but keeps playing. Previously Pandora and aha radio were problematic, only working when they felt like it. Now they have taken over because if I bring up the Pandora app and close it, aha radio opens up. I might delete them both and then see how it behaves.
  3. Was this an SD card you have previously used in your system? What size is the card? Do you have another SD card to try? Reformat the card with FAT32 and try again. The updates file structure should be two folders Firmware and Update and one file Cardinfo.cif and they should be in the Root directory - copied from "2013 USA-CANADA MAP UPDATE" folder on your computer.
  4. I ran the battery down on my iPhone 6+ to 65% and then attached it to the Z-130BT with the lightning cable to 30 pin adapter and it worked fine - no errors. While playing I disconnected the phone and reconnected it and it work fine. While checking out Aha Radio, Pandora and playing a movie from an SD card it charged the iPhone to 73%. So I would recommend updating the firmware on the AVIC and use the latest IOS 8 version. Specs for clarity: Z-130BT with firmware and software version of 5.000 upgraded using link I provided above and courtesy of misterwoofwoof. iPhone 6+ 128GB IOS 8.0.
  5. I'm running down my battery now and will post the results later. Did you follow the other link I posted for the discounted version? 1st post in that thread? misterwoofwoof says it should work from 3.001
  6. I've only had video work from an iPhone when it was my 3GS. It never has worked with the 5 or now the 6+. So go to this link and look for info on upgrading to 5.1. You will need 3 new cables/adapters and video will be in the AppRadio but then music will only play via another app. Check out the Pioneer website for the Z140 and look for firmware 5.1. Once you have followed the link above, and upgraded to 5.0, you can then do the 5.1 upgrade on a Z130BT. I have not done this because of the hassle of playing music through a sub par app, but maybe your ok with it? There is an 11 page PDF on the Pio
  7. Here are some links: Pioneer $$$ upgrade: AVIC411 thread on the upgrade with download Not my screen shot, but the OP's of the above thread:
  8. Umm, no it's up to 5.0 and for the Z140 it is 5.1 which has shown to work by others on this forum on the Z130BT. 5.1 is specifically for the iPhone with lightning cable but also allows AppRadio with the correct cables but requires an app to play music which is a big downside for me and I've stopped at 5.0. Read the forum under Hacks/Mods and you will find a thread that is more than 14 pages so far about upgrading and includes the link to download 5.0 along with the modded file needed for a Z130BT. I'm not sure if it requires 4.0 or not to apply this firmware. Pioneer provides this upgrade
  9. What firmware are you running on your Z130BT? I have the iPhone 6+ 128GB with IOS 8.0.2 with firmware 5.0 on the Z130BT and have not seen this issue yet. I will try and run the battery down and see what happens.
  10. Also, a reviewer on Amazon of the CD-IV202NAVI cable confirms that music will only play with the AppRadio app and is through Bluetooth.
  11. With the 5.1 update, there is an 11 page pdf that states on page 2 for AppRadio mode you will need the following cables: VGA/USB CD-IV202NAVI, Lightning to VGA Adapter from Apple, Lightning to USB cable CD-IU52. Then it goes onto to say: "You cannot play music and/or video files stored directly from your iPhone with Lightning connector using the VGA/USB interface cable for iPod/iPhone without using the CarMediaPlayer app.". And..."If you connect your iPhone with the Lightning connector to your navigation system using a USB interface cable for iPod (CD-IU5IV, sold seperately) and a Lightning to
  12. What firmware are you referring to? Version 3.001? That is from years ago when the system was brand new, are you sure you don't already have that version?
  13. In another thread the poster was advised by Pioneer to do a factory reset on his Z130BT, and that worked. So check that your settings that you like are written down and give it a try.

    z130bt GPS map

Have you used the zoom in and out control which looks like a magnifying glass in the lower left of the screen?
  15. Thank you both for the info. I'm just not going to fall for the map update gimmick of paying $120 more towards this failed experiment. The maps and GPS system are garbage, Google maps are so much better - and FREE! Pioneer never did support this product with updates for the numerous glitches it has, instead they expect us to pay another grand or more for yet another in dash system as we cross our fingers that this one is better. My choice when upgrading was to use this system, or build my own car PC. I'm sure there would have been problems with the car PC too, but at least I would personal
  16. Has anyone done the 2013 Map Update to the Z130BT and if so, how has it worked out for you? Any problems or quirks like the last update losing voice control of navigation? Do you use an iphone 5 with lightning adapter cable? Does it still work. My Z130BT does have the 2012 map update, and I use an iPhone 5 with an apple 30 pin to lightning adapter. It works most of the time. Sometimes it will not connect and I have to unplug it or shut the car off and restart. Most of the time it is just an unplug and replug. But at least it works most of the time. The other issue is that when playing
  17. I have an iPhone 5 with IOS 7.02 and the Z130BT with the map upgrade and BT upgraded Mine works with the Apple Lightning to 30 pin adapter cable. However, the BT is a different story. What is not working, but does sometimes for some unknown reason, is BT music. The phone connects for calls, but the Pioneer says connection unavailable for music. But when it works, it still says connection unavailable but plays music and controls the iphone. Recently I went on a trip and my iPhone connected without issue to the cheap head unit of my rental car, every time and without issues. My iPhone p
  18. Ok, I resolved this issue. They use different album artwork on Saturday vs Sunday. Copying any Sunday artwork over to the Saturday podcast fixes it. I also noticed the encoding on Saturday says "multi transcode internet go" and Sunday is iTunes V7. I thought this was the issue until I re-encoded a crashing podcast and copied an artwork to it from a Saturday show using iTunes. It crashed, and that's when I noticed the different artwork. Now I will have to fix them every time I sync - but that's better than the freezing Z130BT. Now who to blame: Pioneer or Leo Laporte's Tech Guy (artwork
  19. I've been stepping through a bunch of troubleshooting steps to find the issue. Things I've done: I downloaded episode 933 directly from the Tech Guy website. The hoops I had to jump through to get it on my iPhone have convinced me to go with an Android next time around. I had to shut off iTunes Match before it would let me sync this onto my iPhone. It would not see it as a podcast, and could not match it, so it refused to included it from playlists, albums etc. But, in the end that also locked up the Z130. I changed the Tag info with Mp3Tag, and that also locked up. I re-en
  20. So this problem started on podcast number 917 and has continued on every odd numbered podcast that I have listened to through 933. What happens is that it will begin to play for about 2-3 seconds, the meta data will not show up on the screen and the Z130BT with firmware upgrade to Z140BT will freeze. Nothing will work, not physical buttons, screen, or steering wheel controls. Disconnecting the iPhone will restore the functionality. Then I must manually delete that podcast from my iPhone 5 so the Z130 can't find that podcast and will either play the next one, or pick its favorite song from Van
  21. Are you using the Pioneer cable with an adapter purchased from Apple? If so, reset your iPhone, mine works but has occasional hiccups now and then. Like currently my Z130BT locks up on any odd numbered podcast from the TechGuy and sometimes it just will not connect without my shutting the phone off and restarting. Sometimes, just closing all the apps works - even though thats suppose to be a list of recent apps and not actually running apps. So if you have the correct cables, it should work.

    iPhone 5 support?

A few updates as I have been testing it out. Z130BT with map/software update to 140BT I didn't mention App radio but did show a picture of the screen in my gallery. It does not work for me but I only have the AppRadio app and CarBrowser installed. Maybe I'm not using it right, so I will look into that more later. Aha radio fails. I only tried it briefly with NPR and it played. But now it really just hangs and won't do anything. That is pretty normal even for the 3gs which I pretty much why I never use it. When switching from Pandora back to ipod music, the player goes to the fi
