12. i only need to flash the headlights 1 time for the bypass to work and i can flash it anytime during the entire boot up prosess with a 100% sucess rate. should save a little ware and tear on the unit and vehical lights..
 13.
My timing must suck, I still cant get it to work...
when you start the car the lights illuminate on the z1....do nothing. when the z1 sarts its boot sequence it will look something like this 21314efdsfe35453 1321453254554435 134343525545345 thats when you turn on and off the headlights..... next it will display the pioneer logo.... you can still turn on and off your lights during this time. i usualy get 1 on and off during the boot sequence and 2 durning the pioneer logo and i do all my flashes within about 2 seconds total
 14.
Is anyone willing to write up a quick step by step procedure to grounding the e-brake and getting the bypass to work by flickering the lights, to include those with daytime running lights, if the lights should be kept on or off.....or does it really matter? This is the only bypass method I have seen that has worked and I'll be installing my Z1 tomorrow. I'm a newbie at this, so all the help would be great! Thatnks to everyone and their input too!! 8)
just ground the pb wire to the chassie ground, then turn on and off the headlights 3 or more times af
 15.
Mine didn't work with parking break grounded. I had to disconnect the parking break ground in order to make it work. I also found that if you ground the break while you are watching DVD's in motion, everything stops.
you must ground the parking brake, try it again and i bet you make the bypass work.
