  1. Does anyone know if Pioneer plans to fix this app? In the latest update they removed the map search functions making the app useless. This is the main way I use the nav by searching in AVICFEEDS and then synching with my AVIC-Z140. Are they doing something new with the AVIC-Z150? Or what's up? I can't believe they updated the app and made it useless.
  2. My shop replaced my head unit with a replacement Z140 and the problem is gone.
  3. I've got an iPhone 5 on order. No clue when AT&T will fulfill my order though. I have an iPod that I have dedicated to the Z140, but I will be happy to test when the phone eventually arrives. As long as I can make calls using the Z140, I will be happy. But I know some of you guys want more features tested out.
  4. I put up a review on Amazon a while back. Of course, a lot of the reviews on Amazon don't seem to know what they are talking about. Complaining that the Z140 doesn't come with a traffic tuner (it does), claiming you need to pay $300 for accessories, etc. It is a good unit, good touch screen (better than the 940), sounds great, the nav works great for me, etc. It is a bit slow to start up, but other than that it works great for me. I especially like that I can do a search on my iPhone for an address and it will be added directly to nav.
  5. I have an iPod Video 30g and it works perfectly every time. You don't need an iPod touch.
  6. Not really sure how it picks routes to begin with, but it does learn over time. So if you prefer to go one way, after you do it a few times, the nav will start to recommend that route.
  7. I know one guy posted he already bought it.
  8. Nevermind, I found it- http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Map-Upgrades
  9. Link? And is this only for older units or are there map upgrades for the Z140? If so, I can't find them on the Pioneer website.
  10. Had issues with my Z140 intermittently not powering up when I started the car when it was about 4 months old. My shop swapped it out. My replacement unit has crashed once, where it rebooted after playing music for about 10 seconds. Also it keeps forming a VR database every time I get in the car which my old one never did.
  11. After owning my Z140 for approximately 4 months it started to not power up occasionally when I started the car. If I restarted the car most of the time it would then boot up. I took it back to my local shop and they attempted to trouble shoot it and eventually decided to just swap it out. So far I have not had this occur since the replacement, but it has only been about a week. Has anyone else seen this?
  12. If you are that unhappy, I don't know why you would want to keep the Z140. Personally I love mine, but I never owned an earlier version. And I honestly could care less about the loss of voice commands. It seemed like a silly gimmick to me. I would much rather have the better Nav that supposedly the Z140 has. But once again, I don't own an earlier model to compare it to. I hear the new Kenwood Navs are nice too, so maybe try them if you are that unhappy. Why did you even upgrade if you were happy with the Z2?
  13. So you are still using the Bose amp? I switched to an Alpine 5-channel since I was told by also the Vette audio gurus that it would sound horrible otherwise. I thought you swapped yours all out in the end too....or am I confusing you with someone else on the Vette Forums.
  14. It only lost VC of POI searches and entering addresses I believe. So even if it did work in my car I don't think that the difference would be a big deal. The new maps would be more important. I can't imagine ever needing to do a VC POI search. I haven't done a single POI on my Z140 yet to begin with!
  15. I went from the AVIC-X940 to the AVIC-Z140 and found my system was WAY too loud. Then I read the specs between the two units and saw that the Z140 RCA's put out 4V versus the X940 2V and I think that was the difference. So I had to turn down each channel on my Amps by about 50%. I am a real novice on these car stereos, but I assume that is why the volume went WAY up on mine when just swapping the head unit. I am not sure if this helps you at all because I am not sure if you are using RCAs at all. I am guessing not since you are using that installation kit, but I could be wrong. I am s
  16. It definitely has voice control, but it is useless in my Z06. I am guessing the exhaust is too loud or something. It never understands any commands I give it.
  17. The one bug I've seen on mine is this- My iPhone was connected via the iPod connector (not bluetooth) to charge up the phone. My phone dropped it's signal so i decided to reboot it and turned the iPhone off. When doing so, it made a loud popping noise through the speakers and then lost all sound. Switched sources- still no sound. Restarted my car, and everything was fine. I assume this was some sort of built in protection.
  18. Not sure what you are asking exactly, but the Z140 does come with traffic updates for free. As you drive around a message will pop us saying something like "There is traffic on your current route, would you like to try a faster route?" It will then give you a couple of routes to pick from and you go. I guess with other navigation units you either need to subscribe to a service for this, or have pop up advertisements on your screen. None of this stuff on the Z140.
  19. PS: I assume you are "LS3 MN6" on the Corvette Forums? If so, I've been talking to you there.
  20. I have the Z140 in my Z06 and love it. But I don't have an older Pioneer model to compare it to, I went from the stock Bose.
  21. I had something similarly odd with my 140 yesterday. I was cruising and listening to my iPhone that was playing through the iPod connector. My iPhone bugged out and wasn't receiving any phone or internet signal for about an hour so I decided to turn it off and back on. When it turned off I heard a pop through the speakers and when it came back on I had zero sound. Switched input sources, and no sound. Then I turned off the car and restarted it (rebooting the 140) and everything worked again. I was really worried I had done some serious damage to the new head unit! So never turn off your
  22. I am new to this unit too, but I know if you hit the Navigation button there is then a button to end your route. But I would assume the unit would automatically know to end the navigation to a destination after you arrive and turn off your car....doesn't it?
