  1. Vblue- I was checking the ipod capability becasuse MOST newer head units will NOT give you function from an older ipod. aka. one that actually still has a spinning drive in it and not flash (a touch would be an example of a unit with Flash memory. a 60gb classic (like the one I have, or the original 4gb classic with black and white screen like I have just for my truck) wont always work, regardless of which cable you have. I have tested the IR sensor with several different pioneer remotes (credit card, steering wheel, the dildo looking one, the creditcard remote with the joystic/button,
  2. I searched but could not find a simple list of what works with the Z140bh. Wireless remotes - NO. still waiting on confirmation if the Pac-Audio WRI-P works with this specific unit. XM- P10XMT - personally confirmed WILL work. All XM channels come in, with station logos on screen. MEMORY of fav songs ALSO WORKS 100%. Sooooo.. even though the pioneer manual says you need a GEX-P920 for xm, and specifically states that the P10XMT doesnt work. IT DOES. traffic information DOES work, just not through the XM, the Z140bh has a built in traffic receiver. Ipod interfaces: CD-IB
  3. My Z1 has an internal issue. When I remove switched power from the unit, the unit doesnt turn off. I physcially disconnected 12v switched (red) from any conneciton, and the unit stays on. Its clearly an internal isses most likely a bad Diode, but im not sure where. anyone have a diagram of the power circuit internally? thanks Wolfz23
  4. those 2 blue wires turn on the factory amplifier for your factory sub. there are also 2 RCA's that come with that plug.. 1 of the RCA's is for the sub, the other is for interrior amp (if applicable) you may have to install a 1k ohm resistor on the Blue turn on wire to eliminate turn on pop. some need it some dont. also the problem with your siruis wasnt a bad it cable it was a bad installation. you someone plugged the cable into the input port on the sirisu mod. there is a blu and a black plug on Pioneer SAT units. the BLACK is the output and goes towards the radio, the BLUE
  5. If none of the above work try this: at the back of the radio, in the RCA harness, find any RCA ground (should be a thin black wire leading to the RCA plug itself) there are probaly 4 of them. carefully strip that black insulation back and tap your temp wire to the RCA ground, touch the other end to the chassis of the radio. you should probalby only need 8 inches of wire. this could possible eliminate your turn on pop, as well. going through a ground loop isolator is a last resort, for it is degrading sound quality, as well as voltage. like putting a bandaid on a knife wou
  6. check to see that whoever installed your unit with the gm Lan adaptor (probably a GM -oso1 or oso4) used a relay on the switched output. the lan adaptor might need a relay to be triggered, instead of connecting to the 12 ign wire. im am more willing to bet that they wrong adaptor is being used. and its NOT the onstar adaptor. The adaptor shoudl interrupt FRONT SPEAKERS only when onstar is activated. The problem you are describing is that whoever installed it is interrupting power to the radio. The only logical explanation for this is, that the shop/installer didn thave to corr
  7. It is an install issue. Like the above post states, you need to turn down the output of the radio in order to interface with the Bose system properly. There are 2 ways to do it.. The best way is to install a converter, 4 channel, high level in (speaker wires input) that will output to either RCA, or Speaker wires. There are 2 harnesses for the vehicle, 1 with RCA, and 1 standard. Either will work, it just depends on how much wiring you want to do. (RCA version you plug in 4 RCA's to the harness, speaker wire you wire in 8 wires) Your popping noise is caused by too
  8. you only need 3 sats to get location. the 3rd gives you altitude. 1- longatude 2- latatude 3- altitude. Unless I missed something in the physics world, we are only 3 dimentional, That 4th satellite is used incase you lose one of the required 3. but anyway.. ya put the antenna on a 4x4 metal service for better reception. I have used the cover from an electrical junction box (the flat covers) on some cars that didnt want it mounted outside.. of course you need to be able to hide the plate somewhere. Good Luck Wolfz23
  9. Found inf differnt part of forum, please delete post.
  10. I need to know the kind of Car. VW and GM Monsoon systems WILL accept the radio output as is. Wire it up normally. You volume will be LOUDer than it was before, and you may get a little "hiss" from the Monsoon amp. They DO make an adaptor (several actually) that will interface. 1- PAC-Audio makes one tht will "turn down" the output of the radio. Its more commonly uses and a Line Output converter, but it has speaker outputs as well as RCA outputs. OEM-2 is the part number. You can also take a cheap pair of RCA's and cut them from each end abotu 10 inches away from the plug.
  11. It depends on the vehicle. Hondas only have a 7.5amp constant at the back of the radio, where GM has 10, sometimes 20 amp. But YES you can use the radio constant to run all accessories for Zx sieres, Bluetooth,XM,Sirius,Camera (not on constant) Ipod Module, and the Zx itself. SHOULD.. SHOULD ... only draw about 7-9 amps of current total, however it may be a little more. T-taps and Scotch Locks somtime cut into the wireitself, and are generally NOT accepted at all in the Professional Car audio world. for anything. The fall off and only tap into 2-10 stands of the actual wire, resutling
  12. Here is a better answer for ya. The Z1 and Z2 wont work with the new cable, so you HAVE to get the CD-IB100 or the CD-IB100II. Both are the same adaptor, 1 is silver, 1 is balck, both function the same So.. YES the new cable is better and cheaper, however doesnt work with Z sieres. Yes I tried, it plugs in but doest recognize it. That plug on the Z Sieres is for TV tuner, which wont work past Feb 17, 2009 anyway, so it will be worthless plg. Phooey Wolfz23
  13. Copy the CD to your computer, the Reburn it but add in the track titles, and artist names. THEN go put it in your Zx and let the Zx rip it. You might have to do it a few times, to get the naming correct in the Zx. some CD burning programs tag the CD differently than gracenote will. I put the Zx into MANUAL cd rip mode, then I put my burned CD in the unit. Let it play, and look at the screen, make sure the Artist, Album and Track info are all correct. If it IS. manually rip it or put the Zx on Auto, then eject the CD and put it back in. Have Fun wolfz23
  14. The problem you are having is your Daytime Running lights are coming on, and thus outputing 12 to your dimmer wire on your Pioneer, which is putting it in night mode. Couple of options. 1- disconnect it completely 2-Leave it connected, but put a toggle switch on it to "disconnect" it during the day 3- Try connecting the Dimmer wire from the ZX to the HEADLIGHT wire in the car, NOT the DIMMER/ILLUMINATION wire in the car. The dimmer/ill wire is connected to the parking light circuit, which is connected to your daytime running light wire. The headlight wire MIGHT be separate circuit,
  15. the Models mentioned int he above post are the ONLY modules that will work, and they are slow. no where near the USB speed of the D3 control, or the standard head unit speed. Both work, and work well, they are just slow when searching Wolfz23
