This is why I keep asking the administrators to add a huge "WARNING" sign right next to the download link of v2.21 because people won't bother reading about all the dangers of it later. They'll download thinking "Well, the latest version must be the best!" and they'll come back here crying saying their unit is screwed up.
-
If you use the hack properly, no harm can be done trying it AS LONG AS YOU USE v1.4 AND NOT v2.21. If you use v2.21, harm can easily be done.
-
You can also customize with the Axxess.
-
I have the Axxess ASWC (http://www.axxessinterface.com/steering_wheel_control_new.aspx) and it works fine with my x930bt. The instructions they provide are quite clear.

If you would have read the many many many many many many many many many many posts made about v2.21, you would have never touched it. This thing screws up units. Try to put a PRG.FLG file in the USER folder. If there's already one, try to remove it. ADMINISTRATORS: Are any administrators in this forum reading this?! Please add a SERIOUS warning about the dangers of v2.21 and strongly suggest readers to use v1.4 instead or, hey, remove v.21 completely! We're the ones stuck with helping users who fell in the trap of using v2.21.

2012 US/CAN Maps - CNSD-310FM/UC upgrade (updated to supereasymethod - beta)
Lyverbe replied to pionara's topic in Hacks/Mods
This is a snapshot from a Mac. You'll never get this on the X930BT. To get these files, download http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/7672652/Pioneer_2012_US-CAN_Map_Upgrade -
Have you properly connected the parking brake wire? Check in your connection settings in "Navi Settings->Connection Status->Parking Brake" to make sure it's "On" when the parking brake is pulled. The keyboard is always disabled if the parking brake is not pulled to ensure you're not typing while driving.

v2.21 is known to screw up units bad. It did screw up mine and I fixed it by removing the file PRG.FLG in the USER directory. BTW, slow down on the forums. If you ask something, don't expect a reply 30 minutes later. Be patient. -
Which version of CondiHack did you use?

http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32929-x930bt-password-recovery/ Make SURE (VERY sure) that you use Condi's HackMode v1.4, not v2.21. Stay away from 2.21. -

Looked all over? The answer is on the first post of this thread. Follow the instructions here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35230-2012-uscan-maps-cnsd-310fmuc-upgrade-updated-to-supereasymethod-beta/page-21?&do=findComment&comment=259388 -
Did you install the Z140 update? If not, perhaps installing the update will reinstall the proper files. See http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35280-upgrading-a-x920x930-to-x940-instructions/

We have told people many times to stay away from v2.21 and asked often the administrators to take that crap off because it screws up units. Welcome to the club. Using v1.4, try to remove the PRG.FLG file. Restart your unit.
-
I'm no expert in this, but there is a "BOOT" folder in the "USER" folder (/USER/PRG0/BOOT). I guess that the unit is looking for files inside this folder to start (I only have EU090BOT.PRG in there). Do you at least have this folder? If not, putting files in there would be a start. If the unit knows how to boot, I guess it should know how to read the SD card. Here's a DropBox link to my EU0990BOT.PRG file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108951927/EU090BOT.PRG

I just downloaded the torrent and it's offering me the expected files, including the 2.23gb one. In other words, the torrent is perfectly fine.

x930bt- some icons grayed out/not accessible
Lyverbe replied to randymcn's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Make sure the parking break is pulled. If it is, make sure the brake wire is properly connected. -
Glad to hear it.

Well, if you did "backup like an idiot", shouldn't you have your old NDATA folder somewhere? "Do you have a way to delete these folders": You said you accidentally deleted the NDATA folder. You should have enough experience to delete any folder by now For the "wrong SD card" message, make sure the SD card doesn't have ANYTHING else than the update. If the unit picks up something else, it might understand that it's not an original Pioneer update and show this message. Have you tried this update?: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35230-2012-uscan-maps-cnsd-310fmuc-upgrade-updated-

Which version of the firmware is currently installed on your unit? You might want to try to install the latest Z140 update after taking a backup of your unit. Ps. I'm French, in case you are too and more confortable communicating in French.

Perhaps you can try installing the 2012 update. It has the USER folder that might save your butt. Get the update here: http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/7672652/Pioneer_2012_US-CAN_Map_Upgrade Installation instructions here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35230-2012-uscan-maps-cnsd-310fmuc-upgrade-updated-to-supereasymethod-beta/
