  1. If it is only 6months old it should still be covered under the warranty. Did you buy it from a Pioneer Dealer?
  2. I just wanted to give RonS a huge thumbs up!!!! It is members like this that make forums such a awesome place to learn things that you have no idea about. Most folks are to busy to help anyone but themselves. RonS is also 100% correct, once you learn something do your best to pass the knowledge along when you have the opportunity. Not saying the OP needs to read the forum every day, but you get what I am saying. Thanks RonS, I hope I never need your assistance but glad people like you are here to hopefully provide the right answers. I have a thread started about the Z140BH charging a IPOD whe
  3. Thanks for the info. So it sounds like the IPOD doesn't stay in charge mode when the vehicle is turned off. It simply goes into a hibernation mode, but even in this mode a small amount of power must be drawn, and after several days of not starting the vehicle it will in fact drain down to the point that it takes some time to gain enough of a charge in order to play the music? I haven't been driving the truck nearly as often as I use to, Sometimes it will sit for 2 weeks or longer before it is started. If I am understanding you correctly then it sounds like it is working properly. Can someone p
  4. i HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY NAV UNIT Z140BH. I don't live in the boondocks, it clearly shows the name of the road that I am on, and if I am in a route the color of the road is changed just as it should, but I have no voice guidance at all. I get a message that says I am in an area that doesn't provide voice directions, or whatever the OP posted in his first post. I called Pioneer and the idiot said, what's the problem you are simply out of range. If I was out of range, how is it showing the street name and directions I am in traveling not to mention the color of the road changes as I continu
  5. I BELIEVE you will have to use an adapter that plugs into the cig or 12 volt accessory port on the vehicle. I don't know of an adapter that will allow hard wire connection for Android.
  6. I have the 140 BH and started having issues with my IPOD, that I leave connected in the glovebox 24/7. In the past it would always keep the IPOD charged and it would start playing my music off the IPOD shortly after starting the truck, which is a 2000 F350. Lately if the truck sits for a couple days the IPOD is dead when I start the truck. It takes around ten minutes for it to get enough charge in it to work through the headunit. If I turn the truck off the battery symbol changes from charging to just running off the battery about 5 to 10 sec after shutting the truck off. Can someone please ve
  7. OK, I am using my IPHONE 4S with the z140bh head unit and I am having some issues. I downloaded the AVICFeeds and the AppRadio app from the Itunes store on my IPHONE 4S. With the phone plugged in using the Pioneer IPHONE cable, and I open the APPRADIO app I don't see the Contacts icon. It looks like all the others are there except for the contacts icon. I found a thread online that said I needed to change a setting on the IPHONE under settings, and then the Privacy tab. This is where things get strange. On my IPHONE I went into settings and there was no Privacy option. I know I have seen it in
  8. Still looking for someone to help with a background of the B-52 Stratofortress than I posted in reply #325. If anyone can help me with this it would be much appreciated. Thanks NCH
  9. As VBlue 42 has mentioned my buddy came over last night and we installed the Pac WRI-P remote interface and the Z140bh works fantastic with it. I can't believe Pioneer thought that removing the remote was a good move. What a bunch of idiots!! Sorry but it's true.
  10. I replied to the other thread where you asked the same question.
  11. Sorry, but glad to hear I am not the only one. I received a reply from my meail and they want me to call tech support. Why don't you try the same thing and let's compare what we are told. I will probably call on Monday or Tuesday.
  12. I remember there being a option to show certain items on the Nav screen, may want to check that out. I also know there is a option for what type of view you want it to display, make sure you have the 3D optioned selected. I am out in the country, the voice guidence stops on mine about 8 miles from my house but the screen clearly displays all the street names.
  13. I need some help with another issue. I have a video on my IPHone that plays just fine. This video was posted on YouTube. When I connect the 4S to the Z140BH proper IPhone cable, the video is listed under the video playlist, but when I go to play the video it only plays the music, no video at all. What am I doing wrong? Thanks ahead for the help. Kevin
  14. Is anyone still doing these for folks? Just wondering.
  15. Thanks for the reply. No, I am not a audio person, just got a new head unit for my truck and miss the remote. I wonder why Pioneer would remove this feature. I also received a email from Pac and they also said it would work on the Z140BH. So I have the interface and a remote on their way to me. I am thinking about mounting the eye of the device behing my AC vent in the dash. It will be out of sight but still receive a good signal. Any issues with this idea? Thanks for the help, back on topic, sorry.
  16. I would be happy with a printed version that I could keep in the truck. I did this with my old JVC HU and it came in handy a lot. I have emailed Pioneer and they said they would ship me a printed copy but they have been back ordered for over a month. A HU costing what this thing does should come with a printed copy, screw being green, send me my manual!!!! , lol!!!! Later NCHornet
  17. Another issue I have noticed. My old JVC Nav unit would display a incoming text message on the screen. You could not reply via the screen but you can at least view them. Is there any way to do this with the Z140BH? Still need to verify 100% that the Pac remote interface will work with the Z140BH. I really miss my remote and it also helps keep the head unit from showing wear and tear. Thanks for the help.
  18. No I don't live in a new development. House was built in 1966, I sent a email to Pioneer regarding this and the reply said I need to call them which I have not had time to do. I will post back if I find anything out.
  19. VBlue, I don't mean to sound like a wise guy but how do you know the remote works with the Z140BH? I realize it says it will work with all Pioneer headunits with a wired remote port. But I have not found anyone that has actually tried it. I emailed this question to PAC and have not received a reply. If you have personally seen this work that is good enough for me. Just want to know without a doubt before breaking out the CC. Thanks NCH
  20. That's up to you. I just switched from JVC to the Z140BH and so far happy I did. Still learning a few things. I didn't consider the Z130 because I didn't want to be locked into a IPhone because of my HU. That in itself is enough reason for me to switch. My JVC use to also show on the screen when I received a text message. I haven't been able to figure out how to do this with the Z140BH, if it is possible at all. I have a 1 ton diesel truck, the JVC was worthless to use the hands free bluetooth. Nobody could hear me clearly and I would have to shout. The Pioneer is so much better. People say t
  21. One thing that I can't stand in the voice guidence stops about 10 miles from my house. The route and all roads are displayed properly and when I do reach the house it says that I have arrived, but the voice guidence totally stops about 10 miles out. The system says there isn't enough info in this area, but then why does it clearly show every road and turn in the road correctly? How come if I follow the colored roads it leads me right to the house, so don't tell me it doesn't have enough info. I thought the system was broken until I got about 10 miles away from the house and the voice guidence
  22. Is it really that big of a deal?
  23. I think the cable I bought for the z140BH was the 1551 IIRC and it works just fine. Where did you buy the cable from? What does it look like?
