  1. Siri is getting your voice commands only through the phone's mic, correct? Where do you have your phone placed so Siri can understand you the best?
  2. That's odd, since I got mine waaaay back in 2012 and it still works just fine with my appradio 2 (sph-da100). Now where's that flux capacitor I left hanging around.....
  3. That's the wire I'm talking about. Just attach it to a ground source (you can cut off the clip to attach directly) and you're done.
  4. I use it. Works great. It can't be programmed, so if Pioneer pulls any shenanigans and lawyers up their firmware even more, Then I will be looking at one of these TR-7s.
  5. If you're not from the U.S., it's very simple. Just connect the green parking brake wire from the appradio straight to ground and you're done.
  6. I think it will work, but to be cautious, I would purchase the HDMI adapter and take it along with your phone to a store that sells the appradio 2 and try it out. Most stores should have a display model working and should understand that if it doesn't work for you, they will try to sell you a radio that does. I believe there's a post on this forum where someone does exactly what you're trying to do.
  7. One would think so, but no, it's just for firmware updates. It will also power your android phone if you choose.
  8. Yeah, I was just wondering myself. I have my mic nesting besides my overhead console where it actually does a great job. Back to the OP's first question, maybe the appradio is better than Z1 series. I had an Ego Look bluetooth car kit before and the mic was excellent. I would experiment with that one since it's mono like the Pioneer's, but the body man repairing hail dents on my roof managed to sever the cord when he reattached my headliner.
  9. I guess I didn't post clearly enough. I said the bluetooth radio was made by Parrot, not necessarily the mic. That's why I suggested the double noise cancelling mic taken from a Parrot could be used instead of the stock Pioneer mic, which might make things better for people with voice quality. I, like 400ixl, don't have a problem, but this post is from someone who does. As to where I'm getting this from? Appradioforums>Appradio2>Installs>Appradio internals. More specifically, this: http://s1322.beta.photobucket.com/user/Digital069/media/AppRadio2/IMG_20121027_150046.jpg.html?so
  10. I found a hardware breakdown on another forum and the poster showed that the ar2 uses a Bluetooth radio manufactured by Parrot. I forget the size of the mic jack on the ar2, but was wondering if a double noise cancelling mic taken from a Parrot mki9200 would improve voice quality.
  11. What mode is it in when ARLiberator works? My phone has to be in mirror mode.
  12. It needs to be the appradio 2 and the android phone needs to be rooted, have either hdmi or mhl, and on ics or above. The developer is getting it to work with many gingerbread models, but there are still some issues remaining.
  13. Are you sure the plug for the external antenna is fully seated? Also, it's important to have the little self stick mat underneath it. And most importantly, the antenna needs no obstruction to the sky above. That's why you see them installed in the corner of the dash and as far forward towards the windshield as possible.
  14. I see there are 2 manuals with xnew5 and xnuc suffixes. I assume that's because of us and non us models, but which one's which?
  15. To have the camera do what you want, you need to power your camera with acc power (like the red wire from your appradio) The violet/white wire from your appradio needs to be hooked to a wire which changes voltage when the car is put in reverse. Your backup light wire will be a good choice for this. Now, since your camera is powered when your car is on, you can use the camera icon on the main screen, or it will automatically turn the camera on when you put your car in reverse. I hope I've explained this clearly because many people are over complicating this and it's not that bad. The harde
  16. That is very cool. Where did you find the service manual for this and how much did it cost?
  17. The updated firmware will display [CAUTION] in brackets when you enable the back up camera. Versions prior to 8.17 only showed CAUTION without brackets. You don't need a camera installed to do this. Go into settings and change the camera from "off" to either "battery" or "ground", then press the camera icon in the upper right of the main menu screen. The warning will then appear. Also, your ipod cable might not be fully seated as yonel suggested. It is the same cable used for firmware updates, so if it's not fully seated, or just plain bad, it will not allow you to update your firmware.
  18. Since both the arc S and neo V are compatible, I see no reason that it shouldn't be. Go to a best buy store and hook one up. I've heard of several people doing this just to double check before they lay down the big bucks for the radio.
  19. Does the "allow" bug bother you badly? If not, I would just leave it alone. Reading the instruction manual for the sph-da02 on the pioneer website, it says that the brake must be applied, released, and reapplied (just like the appradio2), which means a simple relay won't work.
  20. What are you using for reverse sense now? The same wire that runs the backup lights? If so, I can see that being an issue. If you're going to use a relay, you probably have the best solution. My backup camera used to come on randomly till I found out I had inadvertently touched the camera icon on the main screen. When I touched it again, my problem was solved.
  21. The appradio 2 has only one ipod cable and icon on it's main screen, so unfortunately, the answer is no. Does your ipod hold more music than you can transfer over to your iphone? If so, then I would hook up the ipod and let the appradio use the iphone through bluetooth. Remember that the appradio doesn't stream bt music, so in this configuration, the iphone will be a hands free phone is all.
